A pet tradein program I would have thought would have been much better considering we know they CAN do that - to normalize stats and at least leave the pet useable.

The pet-trade in program didn't normalize stats - it gave you a similar body-style CL10pet. A rock beetle gave you back a spiked krevol, a gualama gave you a krabhu, etc.

Perhaps it is any 2nd generation DNA being used at all? Since that seems to significantly lower the CL and not affect the stats?

Unfortunately - I was selling a lot of non-ch pets - and they weren't nearly as uber as some screens I've seen - about half the hams of things posted here. I truly thought this might be within intended ranges, I purposefully stayed away from kamurith DNA.

Couldn't they just adjust the levels? I dread even logging on today. I just pulled everything from my vendor under lvl 20 - now some of the higher ones might be a problem too?

How are we supposed to know a bugged pet from a nonbugged in deed form?

I think I'll be saying this many times over... I hate hot-fixes! Very rarely are they thought out, and merely put some tape over the leak in the pipe. Very rarely are they ever addressed further. "It's working as intended now, it's not our problem."

Uber non CH pets being gone? That's fine, and definitely a needed adjustment... but how can anyone who calls themself a developer feasibly take the route of slapping in some prevention code as a hot fix for something that had the potential to make the game far more unbalanced than it already is?

This is a completely inappropriate way to deal with this. If you're going to hot-fox it, at least have the decency to tell an already torn and struggling community what you actually consider a "working CL balance". Congratulations! The cloning system is, more likely than not, botched again.

Why do I keep having this mental image of a bleeding head - and someone stopping the bleeding by applying a tourniquet to the neck?

Fine that they got rid of the bugged pets. Not so fine that there was no communication whatsoever.

What I really want to know if the CL determination calculation with cloning is fixed at all or are we still capable of creating bugged unusable pets? How are we supposed to know now if ANYTHING we create is going to be valid or not?

Well - I just went and pulled every pet off my vendor no matter the level. How in the world am I going to know what's valid and what's not?

That's about 100, surely they can't ALL be bugged - but without some kind of ranges or something - how are we supposed to know?

Just so everyone doesn't panic, as far as I can gather THE FIX IS JUST ON THE TEST CENTER. My guess is they are trying to check some things out before getting the full fix to live.

1. Set up a way to locate the bad critters - DONE: now any that are suspect are considered invalid.

2. Change all invalid animal stats to legit stats - to be done.

3. Duck and cover

What did you expect?

EVERY bio engineer knew that this was an exploit, I was master BE for 6 months and dropped it because of this. How on earth can people expect a CL10 pet to have 9K HAM? or 460 Damage? Its just plain silly.

Personally i could have made 100 of em and sold them for 400K each (which to my dismay some BE's were doing). But I am not an exploiter, and would not exploit my customers, but then some people have different values.

Anyhow, I hope that the poor people who were duped into buying these for mega bucks dont come back and flame the exploiting BE's.

I was so dismayed with the behaviour of some BE's I just quit the profession.

Nope, Zakk, the fix is in live now. I am trying to figure out the ramifications as we speak. Thus far I can sample the old "bugged" deeds and create creatures that "seem" to have more appropriate stats. I can tame some of the old deeds but get invalid stats on some when I try to call them again.

I would pull ALL your deeds off vendors now as it seems many of them are invalid.

Can all of you please post what's an invalid pet and what's not? Maybe we can geta ballpark range of DNA or combinations that's fine now.
