Thread: Stupid Newbie Question
lol...it took me two days to figure out my food and chem crafting tool was the special tool I needed. I found out by accident when I was making regular stim pack C's and noticed a tab for creatures ![]()
It also drove me insane when I tried use a public crafting station to make a vita pack. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what I was doing wrong since my station at home worked just fine (how do you spell bug?). I also shopped the market for food items before I realized its just flora resources you get from any flora farm.
If I'm grinding cheap eopies for creature handlers I use yard animal meat and low OQ flora resources (right now its berries). I figure I'll need the good stuff when experimentation on animals actually works the way its supposed to. BE is definitely not very user friendly right now.

Now that I'm a BE I have something to do with all those other animals I come across looking for babies. Looks like I might have to give up some skills to pick up Artisan and plant some flora harvesters.
You don't need to be an Artisian to have a Flora Harvester. Just to find a good spot to do it. Ask another player to find a good spot for you (and then tip them when they do
Ok, I got Novice BE a little while ago and have been working things out by some trial and error. ( Figuring out how to sample and how to build DNA templates and things. Took me about an hour to figure out thatmy Food and Chemical Crafting Tool was the 'specialized tool' I needed. )
Anyway, I can't seem to find anything that goes into the "Organic Nutrition Minerals" slot when trying to craft a creature. I've triedforaged foods and various kinds of harvested meats with no success. Can anyone tell me what exactly goes into that slot and how I go about getting it?
Thanks in advance.
hi I just hit novice and I have a stupid question. How do I name my pet?
Thanks
you need to get a box that gives you a 4th command( any of the ifrts boxes but training gives you a command) and then train it each one with the neame before it.
so you would tame it attack as: bob kill
and so on and so forth for 4 commands
Tain 4 commands and use whatever name you want it to have in the command.
Say you wanted to name it "Luke". You would train it with these commands
Luke follow
Luke stay
Luke attack
Luke store
Then you'll see his name change to Luke. After he is named you can go back and retrain those commands without the name in front ot it and he'll still keep the name.
Any insight would be appreciated. I'm looking to drop several boxes of CH and don't want to drop the wrong ones, but it really looks to me like it won't matter as long as I maximize pet levels--there is only a difference if I want to actively tame or field two at a time. Is that correct?
[I'm new to the current setup of the CH tree since I mastered the skill a few skill-tree revamps ago then quit for a while and didn't keep up. Either way, I didn't have to learn the new rules. I'm not sure I get it in its current incarnation: is it really this simple?? (I did read the FAQ! Honest!)]
Other than that, max pet levels are spread throughout the tree, all branches being equal. Same goes for taming non-agro skill modifiers.
A pet, once taught a command, does not need to be under the command of someone who can teach it. So you can drop the Master and still use the range and transfer commands, even though you can't teach them anymore.
For being able to use the pet, there is only one value you need to watch. Go into the skill window (ctrl + s) . Onthe left look at my skill mods. In there find "Max Level of Pets". As long as the pet is not above that value, you are ok.
For taming there are wild and vicious creatures. But it only matters when you goto TAME one. Since we all know its pointless to tame one you shouldnt have to worry about it. Just buy a good pet from a BE.
