When fighting ( and running Lol - I love that part of the game), and let's say you want to heal yourself. How can I target myself for a heal without scrolling backon the mouse wheel and continually trying to target myself that way ( I know, I know pretty dumb). Is there a key that targets myself. In eq it was always the tab button but no go in swg ????

Anyone?

Also, another dumb newbie question- when do you get that magic tag over your Toon's head ( ie. Novice Scoutmaster, Novice Artisan, dancer, etc. )?? I have been playing the game almost two weeks now and have got lots of skills albeit I am spreading myself across the board a bit, but was just wondering how many fields do you have to complete on anyone tree to get a tag?

My Toon is a Mon Calamari that originally chose artisan but in playing the game I realize I like hunting, scouting, and even entertaining more than sitting around making stuff. It's too late to go back at this point not to mention the fact that I am attached to my character but I have to tell you Mon Calamari DO NOT have the HAM to put up decent fights in a lot of scenarios? I am committed to going forth though and pursuing scout master/ CH with this toon as my primary goals despite my original chosen artisan goal Lol. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions or has anyone gone a similar route?

Thanks much,

Phishead Crabcakes

I use the fps default control scheme. For me, it's F1 to select self. I don't know what it is for you, check your keymapping.

To change the description over your head go Cntr P and then to I think it is 'Character' or 'History', one of those and there is a place there where you can pick what description you want over your head

Also get novice medic skills right away if you dont have them yet. you can get the A stimpacks and put them into your F11 or F12 and when you hit them during a fight you get healing.

The best and infallible way to self heal without even losing your target lock is:

Create a macro that is this simple -- /healDamage [yourcharacter'sname]

You are going to have to ask somebody in-game how to make the macro as the explanation would be more than I could manage at this late hour.

Place the macro icon on hotslot and just hit it to heal. And there is no need to untarget your enemy. You will heal yourself without losing target lock.

Also your stims need only be in your Inventory, not taking up slots on the bar.

You know its all right to sck those dumb noob questions. How you get the tab over your head is by goin to the community page and selecting a title. Also i htink you should keep artisan and go master weoponsmith. they make alot of money. Youll also have enough skill ponts to go ch, and when your a ch just get some basic weopon skills. if you sale both creatures and high qualitie weopons then youl make a lottttttttttttt of money trust me. If your weopons are good enough then you can sell them for 15k each or higher.

Hi,

personally I use /healdamage self in order to heal myself at every time. I have made a macro for it and bound it to the F11 key so every time I hit the F11 key, I heal myself regardless of what I am fighting or have targetted.

In order toget the different names, other than novice, yes you must complete the entire tree for a particular name. Look at the lvl 4's and wait for the description to come up. That is where the name will be if you complete the tree. It is green.

Press Ctrl-1 to target yourself.

You get a the novice tag when you learn the first(novice) skill box. To get the more advanced tags for that same profession, you need to reach the row of boxes just before Master.

E.g.
Novice Medic - Novice Medic Tag
Organic Chemistry IV - Stimpack Chemist Tag
First Aid IV - Field Stablizer Tag

etc.

You can try using stat migration to adjust your HAM bars accordingly. Despite some differences between races, there are no really severe penalties that prevent you from pursuing your favourite profession.
