Thread: Chef wanted schematic
Yeah, I was asked for these left and right last weekend. Two people wanted them for free, since they "cost me nothing" and one guy offered me 5K for my time. I am still haggling with another. Honestly I think I am going to charge 300K as that is 30% of the profit I would have made selling the full run, but with fairly little effort on my part. I am pretty sure asking and holding to that price will get me a lot of flack, but honestly, who cares if you get flack?
Selling schematics does devalue the end product for everyone in the economy, and I realize that. However, I feel that there are always going to be people who choose to give it away for free or practically so, and there are always going to be people who would ratherrun all of the subs themselves. Plus I am up to my ears in orders anyway, so if someoneis willingto pay me 300c per schematic stack, well I make some money, they can get their product going, and the retard selling them for 10K loses a chance to devalue the market more than I did.

Beech,
It's always the person without the skills, and wanting to get them with no skill point expenditure, that is quick to "price" those skills. We're not talking about the value of 2 min of labor, we're talking about the value of a 1k schematic of a particular product.
Question: if selling schematics is such a good business to be in,then why aren't you doing it yourself?
P.S. I'm sorry you are not able to find a BE on sunrunner. I hope you find a good one.

How much could a Chef sell a Brany schematic for...
.
Never been asked, so no idea really. They would need to sell the alcohol schematic, some kind of container schematic (small glass, large class, cask), and if BE-enhanced, food additive schematicbefore, then once manufactured, make the brandy schematic.
But there is plenty of brandy out there (at least on Sunrunner)for sale (have at least 50 crates on my vendor). This is not a cost issue, this is a supply and demand issue. Mega demand, no supply (at least on Sunrunner), hence through desperation, chefs are asking BE's to make them schematics. This thread is about whether or not its ethical to sell a schematic, and if so, for how much.

All due respect to you, yes I do think making a schematic for 150K is the max a BE can fairly charge. I have heard the main reason why BE's don't supply tissue in quantity is because of the resources required, namely, quality meat. The Chef would supply the resources and meat (either from having to pay for it or harvesting it themselves), thus all the BE is doing is spending 5 mins (if that) to actually create the schematic. I'm not making light of the time that the BE took to become a MBE, I used to be one myself, but 150K ismore then enough to conpensate the BE for their time to make the schematic, at least in my opinion.

I think server differences are making our opinions different here. I don't havemany problems obtaining enough meat to supply my regular customers. I'm a TKM so I hunt it for myself. Also, since I have become a BE, we've had some good meat located on high level planets like dath and yavin, so 20k stacks haven't been an enormous issue.

In this instance Beech, I had 1000 of the tissues on the vender already. But he did not want those. If you guys sell schematics, you are cheating your fellow BE's.Aggressor sets the rules. So if you start lowering the standards, the money you get will not be compensation enough.
In the free-market system of this game, why would we care about our fellow BE's? I definitely agree with not selling that guy a schematic since you had tissues for sale. However, I agree with that b/c holding out makes you more money, not out of any moralistic sense of good for other BE's. If a regular customer placed an order, and I could not fill it (lack of meat or whatever), I would offer them a schematic just to keep them as a regular customer.
Though in this case the consumers are at a major disadvantage because if they won't pay our prices then we can just turn around and produce one of our other products instead. Thus one might argue that the disparity between the power of the producer and the consumer means this is not in fact a free market economy.

I will pay 50K per crate of Broad-spectrum Nutrients, but you trying finding anyone selling crates on Sunrunner !! So help out the chefs, and either start selling crates of Broad-spectrum Nutrients in decent quantities or be open to selling a schematic for a reasonable price, 150K tops.
Do you honestly think 150k is a fair price for a 1000 unit schematic? Thats 150 credits per tissue. Were a BE to sell you those crates, he would make a profit of 1000-1500 credits per tissue. I wouldn't do it for less than 500k.
