Thread: New Tailor Tissues!
One thing that concerns me is the massive amounts of tailor tissue crates I have and if they will be converted, the bio clothing I have up can be trashed, no biggie but would really, really like for the tissues I currently have to be workable!! *crosses fingers*

Currently the surveying tissues are broken but I am trying to get them fixed. I don't expect that they will drop CU fixes to work on it though. I *do* expect them to be fixed though!
You might have better luck suggesting that they change Crystalisation Circuitryto use a new skillmod, rather than waiting for them to rewrite how surveying works. Granted, it would be nice to have a tissue that lets you drop Survey IV yet still survey the same, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. Like I said in my last post, the Survey skillmod is just a "for show" mod. Your max survey range is tied to the skill boxes, and not the mods. Considering how many things still need to be fixed and worked on in the CU, it could literally be months, if not longer, before they would ever get around to changing how survey works so that the skillmod actually means something.
Also, don't forget about Unarmed Damage. I'm fairly certain it doesn't do anything when you have a VK equipped, and its questionable if it does anything with it unequipped. Changing it to Unarmed Speed would still increase a TK's average DPS, which is probably what Blixtev was going for in the first place when he chose Unarmed Damage.
Eeeeeeeek mollusk!
Thanks for the info too

And if our current crates of tissues don't get converted I will be /bugging it every time I log in until it gets fixed!
Hmm...also means I'm going to have to do some vendor shuffling, at the moment I have 1 for each tissue type which won't work after the change. Still, it gives me something to do friday morning.

- Confidence Cloth: Unarmed Damage / Terrain Negotiations (Every TKA is going to want this!!!)
- **New Tissue** Crystalisation Circuitry (20 Creature Food/ 20 Flora Struct/ 20 Reptillian Meat/ 15 Mollusk) -- Surveying!!
Someone should probably test those two before getting too excited. Right now on live its questionable if Unarmed Damage SEAs do anything, especially when you have a VK equipped. Unless the Unarmed Damage skillmod has been drastically changed in the CU, people are only going to be buying that tissue for the Terrain Negotiation.
As for the new Surveying tissue, again I'm not sure if it will actually do anything. Right now on live your survey range is tied to your skillbox, and not to your Survey skillmod. The skillmod itself is just for show. Unless they have changed how surveying works, which I doubt, then this new tissue will be worthless.
My guess is that Blixtev just looked through the list of skillmods in the game and picked ones that sounded nice, but didn't actually check to see if they were mods that worked or weren't just "for show", like Surveying. We've seen it happen before, i.e., Grenade Experimentation and Grenade Assembly on the grenedier's belt from the theme park revamp.
Assuming I'm right about these skillmods, the devs should change Confidence Cloth and Fear Release to be Unarmed Speed/Terrain Negotiation, and they should change Crystalisation Circuitry to either Artisan Assembly or Artisan Experimentation. (I realize that neither of those are directly related to surveying, but they're really the only other option for valid enhancable skillmods in the Artisan tree.)
Survey skillmod works. I was also thinking it was broke until I saw Chandad (survey food) on a vendor and asked the chef (who was the most experienced chef on our server) if it really worked since I had heard they didn't work. But she told me they works and bought some and they work just fine.
What you need to do however with Chandad (and probably with clothing) is that you select tool options on your survey tool and change range. Also depending on your skill level the extra surveying might not help because the added mod is nto enough to get to next range level.
