Thread: Any idea what u will charge for BE mounts?
As a Master of both CH and BE, I am trying to figure out a total cost from clone to mount. So many numbers floating around.
yeah, I'm pretty much with Tal. As of now, my prices for the Kaadu is 5k, and Carrion Spat is 7.5k. But then again, I'm selling in bulk packs of 25so I'm still doing good ![]()

Right well bio-engineers of Ahazi preper to be 'under-cut' since I'm not selling creatures at a marked up price because they can be used as mounts. Frankly while I can understand the free-market idea of increasing the cost by demand I don't find it very fair to bleed the customer when I'm already making around 6000c from each sale as it is. Especially for a CL10 critter which I can make from fambaa dna with no hassle.
I don't mean to laugh so I'll be nice. I think its great that you care about the end user but to be honest you have no say so whatsoever the price a creature handler sells the mount for. You'll have every creature handler in your galaxy knocking on your door and selling those mounts for 35K just like everyone else. Its not the value you put on your product. Its the value your customer puts on your product that matters. All you're doing is ripping yourself off.
To be honest it doesn't make a whole lot of differenceanyway. A large number of the creature handlers I know that have management 4in my galaxy realize the value of BE mounts. They intend to "dabble" in BE so they can make their own low level mounts and sell them direct. As time goes this will be the norm. If you really want to get into the mount business I recommend highly taking creature handler and grinding management 4.
Forget trying to figure out a price ahead of time and sticking to it. Supply and Demand will control pricing,m including yours. If you put 20 mounts up on a vendor at 50k each and they don't sell then you will lower your price to 25k or even 5k or whatever it takes to get them to sell. On the other hand, if you can't sample DNA fast enough to sell them at 25k then your a foll not to raise your prices till you find a balance where you can supply them fast enough and they sell as fast as you can supply them.

A couple of thoughts re XpNsVe's web site (WWW.SWGBIOENGINEER.COM) --
First, the quality of the mounts in the suggested prices is extremely poor. This raises a question I've been thinking about for a while -- is it worth making mounts of high quality? One the one hand, I have to think yes, since mounts can take damage in combat. But is the difference in a Kaadu of 800 vs 1000 HAM worth the significant extra effort and cost to make them?
Second, and relatedly, the 30k flat rate assumes to variation for quality. Again, I can crank out an 800 HAM Kaadu with basically no effort, while the 1000 HAM version is going to require decent DNA and other resources. Surely our pricing should reflect that?
(Actually, on second thought, I'm not sure it's possible to make an 800 HAM Kaadu without really trying.)
I'd be interested in peoples' thoughts on this...
Just my 2 cents.
First, they are nerfing CH , so anyone interested in training and transfering there mounts, had better be a MCH. And we dont know what skill tree the mount command is going on yet. But its up there.
Second, I agree with prices of 30k for a Non-CH , because most peeps will probably drop Ch after the nerf. it wont be worth it. CH mounts 20-30k, depending on stats. Its like everything else in this game. u cant get a nice house for less then 50-100k. Most prices in this game seem to be like real life prices for stuff. So if you want a car, what are you willing to pay. 20-30k average. And if you want a fleet of cars, nock 10% off. And yes, dont let the CH cut our throats, they already are rich from selling maulers, rancors, and every other good animal. We only work 1/3 of our proffession right now. So its harder for us. And bulk resources of high quality are not cheap. So think about this ![]()
Mounts will be trained at management 4. NonCH wild versions of all six are being introduced on test center even now, ex. plodding falumpaset. The kaadu is a novice BE product, and trying to get a novice BE to sell on a vendor instead of the bazaar is a difficult if not impossible prospect.
Our best bet is to try to educate the public on the advantages of getting an experimented, high quality, mount. And educate novice BE's in the value of charging good prices. HAM will make a difference because a mount can be attacked, though it can't attack back. Colors will also be a selling point because otherwise a nonCH will have to stick to the default color of the wild version.
My current strategy is to throw trashy kaadu on the bazaar for 3k, along with a note that that kaadu is the bottom of the barrel, and the buyer must seek out a bio-engineer to get a quality ride. A novice will see it and think, hey, these things are worth at least 3K. A buyer will think, hey, I can go get something better. Some people will still buy them at that price, which gives me some easy spending cash. As I do this I also keep in mind that a round trip ticket to naboo still costs less than my trash kaadu. We can't stress the market for more than it will bear. Maybe I should also add a suggestion that the nonCH can let the animal grow in their own datapad and then ask for a discout when training time comes around. Basically, 3k is a bit low, but it's a lot better than selling them for 1k. And if the public knows that there are better choices they might make more of an effort to locate them.
Some of you may disagree, and some of you may think it's a good idea. I'm just trying to get people to start thinking in terms of quality and that you get what you pay for.
To me this whole thing just seems so insane. Master BE's using their best dna and meat to try to crank out Kadus and Spatswith an extra 100 HAM or whatever and charging a bazillion credits for it. Oh man, what in the heck has this profession come to? I think I may experiment around this weekend and see just how much difference you can make on these things, but I'm one that honestly doesn't think it'll make any difference in the mount market. May as well just make em from whatever I can find on the front lawn, cause I think the noob with the novice BE box is going to be able to charge exactly the same amount as the master BE for mounts, and that is what is going to set the market price on them. The higher the initial price for mounts, the more noobs will step in and drive the price down.
Put it this way, who cares if a newb is going to sell a stinking kaedu for 3k on the bazaar, chances are, most people are dropping BE anyways. Either cause it is a broke proff. or cause of the cost to get to master BE which is not cheap.
And YES, like most people said, charge 20-30k for a mount, if they dont like it, let em go buy a stinking keadu. I dont really care. And NO , I am not going to put my best dna in a mount, the best dna goes in a high level BE pet, if you waste that good stuff on a low level mount, then my suggestion is to go get eaten by a kimo, cause thats just ignorance.
And like I said before, the first rule of economics is, the law of price and demand, if the demand is there, the price is going up. PERIOD
And ALL Bio-Engineers need to get this in there head and quit worring about overcharging, cause if we all sell em at the same price, then they have no choice but to buy it 20-30k.![]()
