(glances around nervously) Hey, why is everyone looking at me?
In fact, I expect to make Novice Force Senses this week, after my next election. Message
Didn't you hear? You were voted out of office for being AWOL. Mayor Dew Back would like the keys to the mayorial mansion, too - after you widen the doorways a bit for him.![]()
We love you, Mayor Ronny! ![]()

The downside is that it encourages AFKing, but do we really know that many people who have dropped combat professions in order to grind Musician or Dancer for JedI?

So you'd rather have additional reason to encourage players toanimate our skills unattendedand further destroy our professions than for youto lose the opportunity to get FS xp the easy, fun way? I understand what you're saying.

Gah! If people try to take that away from me and all the other real entertainers out there pursuing force sensitivity, I am gonna scream! Seriously. Think about this request and how unfair something like this would be for those of us out there who want to be able to participate in this type of game content and do so while enjoying what we do best. What you're suggesting is just another reason to encourage live entertainers to stay out of the Cantinas. As much as I don't like afk, I don't think it's a fair trade off. Now, if these were buffbots, I *might* agree with you.

Wow...no reason to start getting nasty, Esharra.
First of all, it's not what I'd call easy. This would end up costing me a heck of a lot of time to do this. Fun? I suppose. But, honestly, I thought the whole purpose of the game was to have fun. That's just me. I'm looking at this from a sense of inclusion. One would think that most entertainers would want to be included in content, rather than stripping away what little we have. We don't have a quest? Let's instead push for a quest, rather than trying to strip away our opportunities. We had to fight just to get the useless ability of extra wound healing. The new entertainer quests are making it even harder for those pursuing force sensitivity as an entertainer because it appears that we have to sacrifice an extra 400K a pop for each new dance...and who knows how many we're going to get? That chips away into the time that I'd have to pursue this content as well. Content that should *include* us, not exclude us. And, I know for a fact that there are many other entertainers who are pursuing force sensitivity. One would think we'd want to encourage them spending more time in the Cantinas to combat the perception that we are never there and available.
As for destroying our professions. Yes, the afk has to some extent. I've always considered the buffbots to be the real destroyers of our profession, afk is a pain in the butt, to be sure. But, it's always been here, and it always will be until the end of the recursive macro, which we have been assured is going to happen. So, I personally don't understand why you would want to ruin the opportunities for live dancers and musicians to take part in content that should be available for all professions, that wouldallow us to spend more time in the Cantinas, when we know that a fix to the afk plague is going to happen. Because even if the devs decided to remove all entertainer xp conversion, people would still be afk'ing for one reason or another as long as they can. You know that. Is it really worth it to you to remove this inclusion for live entertainers, just to get rid of*one* of the hundreds of reasons people do and will continue to afk until the recursive macro is ended? This wouldn't change the atmosphere of the Cantinas or end the buffbotting. Not by a long shot.

Nothing nasty about it. Just summarizing your statements.

You call grinding away and making runs to the village to turn in xp, content? After thinking about it a great deal, I've decided that's contentI'll chooseto live without. I have 2 FS characters. I've done a little of the village quests with my Doc/TKM but found it boring. So much so, in fact, thatitburned me out & I haven't played her for a few weeks now.I could go medic or artisan on my entertainer but I really don't have the sparetime to pursue something as un-fun as grinding.
We don't have a quest? Let's instead push for a quest, rather than trying to strip away our opportunities.
The devs have already and quite flatly stated that village quests for entertainers will not happen.
We had to fight just to get the useless ability of extra wound healing.
mhmm..I spenta free unlock on my entertainer charto getthat branch.
And, I know for a fact that there are many other entertainers who are pursuing force sensitivity.
Yup..one confided in me today that her avatar will be afk while she sleeps..she wanted me to know this up front. She knows how I feel about the damage unattended play has done to our professions and she was afraid that if I walked into the cantina and found her avatar flailing around inside a table in the middle of the night that it might effect our friendship. I appreciate her honesty. I will miss her.
One would think we'd want to encourage them spending more time in the Cantinas to combat the perception that we are never there and available.
The change that would best encourage entertainers to spend more time in the cantinas would be to get rid of more unattended avatars. FS xp only encourages the problem.

Unattended play has destroyed our professions. If they're not animating while unattended, then they aren't buffbots. If a player has to be AFK for the avatar to be a buffbot, then one kind of precludes the other.
So, I personally don't understand why you would want to ruin the opportunities for live dancers and musicians to take part in content that should be available for all professions, that wouldallow us to spend more time in the Cantinas, when we know that a fix to the afk plague is going to happen. The devs have spoken that they intend toeffect unattended play at sometime in the future. This could easily be a year away. I doubt there will be many of us left by then.I thinkit is about time that we started saying, "No..we will no longer stand idly by while your subscribers exploit our professions to further their characters' advancement in another profession." But then..silly me..I'm one of those fools who won't leave their avatar animating while unattended..even to take a shower.
