Thread: rude BE's?

perhaps i am too nice. 'cause like i mentioned, i get pretty annoyed sometimes and just try very hard not to show it. although i can think of two people who finally broke medown and I had toget rude. well at least i think it was rude. before i was a master BE i had my "breeder" title up(horrible title, at that) and some kid took it to mean i was a CH....actually now that i think about it, maybe that is a CH title....anyway, he asked me to tame his pet for him, which i could do up to lv 20. it was a lv25 and he wasn't a CH. he was bummed so i told him i would let him trade him in for a lv10 pet. keep in mind this wasa lv25 roba with like 5k HAM, so it's not like i was actually going to be able to sell the thing. so i tame a lv10 pet for him give it to him, he calls it, everything is fine. then two days later he sends me an email saying he can't call his pet. he brings it to me. it's still a lv10 so there is no reason he can't call it. but i give him another one anyway...again can't sell the one i'm getting back from him since it's tamed...he calls it in front of me, everything is fine. a few days later i get an email again saying he can't call it and can he get a different one.i tell him to submit a csr ticket because there is nothing i can do. he sends me another email about a week later saying the same thing as if he forgot that he already told me about it. i tell him again to submit a csr ticket and that i was not going to replace his pet again. then /add ignore. poor kid. he's probably still trying to figure out how to call his pet.

or maybe he was just weird, now that i think about it. every once in a while he would send me tells saying "where are you? i'm just curious."

anyway...i spent enough time on that story andi just don't feel like telling the other one.

the end.

as it has been stated a couple times here, i completely agree, the reason for which we may be persived this way is because ppl do not understand how much work goes into our perticular items, whether it be pets or tissues. they tend to think we can pull pets out of a hat like a magician. and i too dread the messages that start with

/tell Yanini hi...

to which all i can reply is

/r hi ( hoping the guy on the other side knows a little bit about BE )

or how about this one

/bla bla says "is my pet done"

/bla bla says "is my pet done"

/bla bla says "is my pet done"

/bla bla says "is my pet done"

/bla bla says "is my pet done"

/bla bla says "is my pet done"

as i just loaded into the game......... that is why we tend to get agitated and do the /ignore bla bla

my two cents worth

The week of the BE revamp was the worst, and I survived.

My suggestion - make a form email in /notepad. Have the email cover it all - if you make pets or not, if you take custom orders, if you make tissues, or only vendor sales? Put it all in there, and the next time you get a tell and are not in the mood, or it's not a good time to be in tell hell - just ask them to send you an email with their request - copy your form email from notepad, reply to them and paste - most of the time that weeds out those asking for something you don't do, and for those who would like to do business with you , know exactly what kind of information they need to give you, and it's all in an email.

I've not really run into the rude BE comments in-game with the exception, and you can take this for what it's worth, the BE forum. I agree this is not a trade forum and I readily acknowledge the sticky threads at the top stating the obvious. However, we do get a bad reputation because of the reaction trade posts receive. I've had novice BE's ask me questions in-game and state after the discussion how much they appreciate the information. I tell them they can find all the information they could ever need from the BE forum. They tell me they avoid the forum because it's unfriendly. Again, this isn't a flame. I'm just repeating reactions I've received in-game.

I read in this thread there are three types of BE's. This is true, but on a higher level there are two classes of BE's broken into three types. Professional BE's and Alt BE's. The professional BE is a main character played by someone long term with the intentto experience BEto it's fullest. The alt BE is a character created solely for the purpose of supporting a main. I know a few master BE's that are alts for chefs. Ask those masters about animals and they have no idea what I'm talking about. I can imagine Joe Noob asking a master BE alt for an animal, not knowing the MBE is an alt,and getting a "I have no clue" response.

The actions of a few can, and will, impact the reputations of us all.

I've had people send /tells during combat before ... I may talk to them (if it's a simple fight), or I may reply "in a fight" or "wait one" (if things start needing more attention), or I may reply a bit later (if I'm in imminent danger of dying). As for e-mails for pet orders, I tend to prefer that under all circumstances, it's a record of who and what which I can refer back to...

Like someone said above there are many different types of BE on most server's . Not every BE will do the same as another wich is starting to happen more . You also got to think also if a BE is rude did some customer or customer's goof him/her out of some money etc.. That has been some of it but not all there can be so many different things to think about. Mostly it's the customer who is rude he/she react's differently to the BE cause he/she does not makes pet's . Then the player does whatever thinkable to get the BE ticked off .

i have no words. for a brief moment i entertained the idea that one of you was playing a trick on me...trying to break me so i would see that sometimes you have to be rude. i'm too tired to get into all the details, but the conversation began with a tell saying "do you have any bearded jax dna?" an odd question so i just said "no". then.."can you get some for me?! i can't find any??" form there, it quickly decended into complete and total stupidity. and if didn't answer questions right away, he spammed the tells. occassionally sending a different tell which said "hello?"..which he of course spammed. just when i thought the situation was resolved i got another spam of tells saying "i got diseased nuna dna but i can't put it in howcome?!!"

it was too ridiculous to even believe. and i couldn't /addignore because i had to see what he was going to ask next. i just had to. it was too awesomely stupid for me not to.

LOL, I've had a few people like that as well. I guess they just caught me on good days where I was looking more for entertainment rather than to get some certain things done.

I would agree with many of the posts above. The main issue I believe is how little most people know about the profession. A weaponsmith can know exactly how to make a laser rifle the exact same everytime. A BE is still using some trial and error even if they have been masters for over a year. When a BE doesn't know exactly what will happen when they hit the combine button surely the customer isn't going to have a clue. Crafting pets is definatly one of the most complex crafts in this game and for some if a BE tells them they can make something in 4 hours for them, the customer might consider that rude.

All the BEs I've known on Tempest have been very nice,

Obviously you have not seen the new shipwright profession yet. Makes BE or any other crafting profession look like a walk in the park.
