Read through the thread. Know what? All the buyers on this thread (auction) were given a good heads up before they actually placed their bids. There were a good number of threads warning potential buyers that these pets may indeed be bugged.
These buyers then made an well-informed decision to proceed with their bids.
Edits:
1. I read through the thread
2. ...buyers made A well-informed decision...
This board needs an edit function badly

What about all the people who buy in the game off of vendors. Yesterday I went to a guy's vendor and he had 10 uber non-ch pets for 500-750k each. Sorry I didn't see a sign in their for the person buying it off a vendor to watch out for a nerf. Sorry I still think if you have the nerve to sale bugged product and not warn your customer, you need to refund the money.
Speaking as a customer
I ordered some custom pets knowing they may be bugged. I got what I asked for and was very excited about them. I'm a CH and was trying to do something different. They were great, although not imbalanced from my perspective. Probably can't call them out any longer. :<
But I don't expect my money back. I knew what I was buying. However, to make me a happy customer, all I would ask is the BE try to make some replacements for me. Of course they won't be as good but it would be a nice gesture on the BEs part.
I realy wish SOE would have at least made a post on what they intended to do and how it would work. So stupid for them not to do that.
this is what i am worried about. does thefix just cover the non-CH uber pets? or does it cover all pets in general? is the master CH i sold the CL68 snorbal to going to come back and demand his money back because he can no longer call his pet that i made him? i guess i'll find out when i get home tonight. it's going to be hell trying to figure out who bought what and for how much. im hoping just certain pets will be affected. i know anything with NK dna will most likely be deemed 'invalid'. when you get CL17 -25 pets with 8k HAM and good resists and strong poison as a special, that isnt right. and thats what the first generation NK dna pets were pushing out. im sure these will be invalid as well. i wish the devs gave us some kind of heads up or told us what makes a creature valid for a certain CL.

Now my concern is whether or not we're going to have a fuddle around in the dark for another month because no-one is going to tell us what is 'overpowered' or not. For all we know, we could still be making invalid pets for the next week from strait DNA samples. Are these pets invalid for non-ch's to call? or all people? How do we know?...This is probably the -worst- way to fix this problem.
Being told nothing helpful is just as bad as being told nothing at all.
(I'm o-k with the fixes, I assume due to the fact I and a few others can still call pets of the quality I've been making that low level tanks are still in, which is what I wanted from the word go.)
this would also suck because i spent the last couple of weeks sampling my butt off and mixing dna to get the best results. and i thought i finally had it down. now it appears i might have to restart this whole process over again to meet the new restrictions of 'valid' pets.
i wont really comment much more until i /tell some recent customers in-game and see if they can call their high level pets i sold them.
Ok, to everyone Devs and Bio Engineers, I am not a crafter of any sort, however, I did buy one of these pets for a friend of mine who is a crafter. In fact she has so much crafting skill that she can't use weapons.
I thought that this would be a really great suprise for her, not something to use to kill things, but something to use so that she could use as protection while exploring the galaxy. But now she has now weapons skills, and no pet. Yes she still has her bike, but you can't survey from a bike.
I had no idea that this was an exploit until she sent me an email three days later asking me about a post on these boards. Well, at first I wasn't too worried because I figured that the devs would post something on this before putting it into effect. How is a non-bio engineer supposed to know what is and is not a valid creation? And why should we be penalized so harshly as a result?
I am disapointed that the Devs did not fell it necessary to post anything on this before hand to at the very least give people time to prepare. I hope that the Bio EngineerI got mine from will work with me on this because I don't know about the rest of you, but 90k is a lot of money for me.
Man, i hope the bio engineer that made the 7 pets that I gave as christmas gifts to my guild mates feels like giving me a refund too ![]()
As a consumer of your products, I will say I have no expectation of a refund for the couple of pets I purchased and that proved invalid.
expect refunds when soe gives refunds to the BE
cuz no official thread were made about this only
post of dev wanabes and whiners
is not be fault that soe can handle this kind of issues before they hit live
i wont expect any refund what so ever cuz by now that money maybe was spent already so
neither of you should

For that matter, how is a BE supposed to know what is and isn't a valid creation? You can't tell until the creature is tamed and you can't sell tamed creatures on a vendor.
I have a bunch of creatures on my vendor that I think are legit, but I'm going to have to pull them, sample them off and make new creatures to be sure. The devs should have put some sort of indicator on the deeds so we'd know what is valid and what is not.

I'm not going to refund ANYONE. I had NO indication that the pets I sold would become useless. The people who bought pets from me have a beef with the developers, not me.
While this might very well be true, they can look at/see/talk to you and the Devs are much more elusive. I'll echo everyone else, especially since this seems relatively rare in the RL American business world, do right by them and you're keep a good customer who will tell his/her friends. Keep this attitude and the word will, likewise, get around.
Ok, you add something to the game....people use it and sell it as product.....and quite an expensive product.....devs decide it's invalid......take away that expensive product from purchaser and tell them to foog off and get a new weaker one and forget about getting that 100k back from the initial purchase??
WOW super way to fix things guys.
I mean, i do agree the pets were silly, didnt stop me from tryin one, but god dammmit, get on top of things you jokers and make it right. Adding a "Super cool new BE system" to the game and taking it away along with all that it prodced with no compensation is lame as can be
So far, so good for me. Nobody I've spoken to has had an invalid indicator.
One person even had their pet -jump- 6 CL's today. Which is strange given that nobody else has apparently had that happen.
