Thread: Advice: Give refunds and apologize
I dont know about you, but, I as a MCH would not expect a refund for any of these pets. I don't blame the BE's for selling them, and I'd only really concider asking for one, if I bought it yesterday evening, or this morning before the fix. Because, the people who got these Uber pets made the amounts back and then some doing missions they normaly couldnt do.
You say, "maybe they should have known these pets would be Fixed" well, Maybe doesnt cut it for legal standing. IF the BE's offer a refund, all well an good, but to say they Have to just to maintan customer relations is flawed. There is a thing called buyer beware, meaning, if you think your getting an awesome deal on something, and you should know its too good to be true, then it probably is, and it's you "the buyers" fault.
I have never asked for a refund for anything I've bought in game, I'm not one of those litigious people looking to force someone else to pay for my mistakes. I buy something I cant use, it's not the sellers fault, Unless s/he states before the sale, that I Could use it.
Of course, thats me, some people want to be held harmless for being stupid. Like buying a CL-10 10k HAM 350-455 dam, with a KD and Dizzy, with a ranged poison. And expect it not to be nerfed eventually.
Sorry, too long, but I wanted to offer 3cr's worth an not just 2 ![]()
Rothsel, Radiant, Dantooine, TKM/MCH/Medic 4233 (soon to be medic 44whatever's left) lol
this is too ill for words, who is gonna refund me and my work i have put in.
I don't have any sympathy for any BE that created and sold these bugged pets or for any customer that knew they were made using an exploit that bought them.
If someone doesn't realize that a <CL10 pet with almost 10k HAM and 49% resists + special attacks isn't bugged, then I don't know what to tell ya.
Of course if SOE would've thoroughly tested the system and given us some documentation, this wouldn't have happened in the first place.
I didn't sell any non-CH pet for more than 5K
I didn't sell anything approaching some of the most 'out of line' stats I've seen reported on these forums.
With every pet I sold that seemed subjectively a little too powerful for its CL, I always had a discussion with the buyer about the possibility that program changes would strongly negatively impact their new pet.
Do you know how glad I am today that I did those three things?
I'm genuinely sorry for those to whom this will be a big financial setback, or cause reputation issues with customers. But sometimes a little caution in the beginning is merited.
If any customer comes back to me unhappy they can have a refund or a newly made pet.

There is alot of ranting about refunds and SOE messing stuff up that they added to the game.. SOE is a bunch of complete noobs and have no idea how the game works, i would wager money that BE can still make invaled pets.
SO non CH people can have some pretty cool pets i had a level 7 with 3Kish HAM and he's invaled, why dont they increase his level so maybe i can get ride of him to a CH person instead of making him invaled for a MAster CH..
They added this system and BE used it to the fulllest and made some great stuff now SOE is backpeddaling to make the CH people happy who were upset about noCH getting good pets, Well can CHers still call out like a total; of 150 cheature levels worth of pets, Seen MCH with 2 full grown rancors and a high end mount and some other pet, did SOE fix that.. probably not they didnt want to make to most power full class unhappy.. SO ill wait another month to see if soney backs out of this nerf or finds away to fix it.. Bunch of dummys
Devs: Hey Smugglers! you know those pistols? we gave ya? weeeeeeeeeellllll there was a little mix up, no don't worry! we're not taking them awaaaay......well actually....yea we gotta take those out now and you can't have your money back, forget it, it was a bug....the pistols themselves...yea....a bug..../shrug......enjoy your exciting Slicing skill!

This thread, and many others like it, make it pretty obvious that there are plenty of buyers out there who knew they were buying something they shouldn't have.
Whether they knew or not,I've seen several threads of people asking to have BE's that sold this sort of merchandisebanned. They seem to be assuming they won't be able to get refund and think that any BE who dealt in this sort of merchandise should be banned wholesale.
I think that any bio eng that sold these awesome pets could at least do this much for the people they sold them too. They will still have there money and we will still have a better pet then normal and everyone is happy.
Just my 2 credits

Well, according to the patch notes, the crafting system was fixed so it shouldn't produce these invalid results. If anyone can prove this wrong I'd like to hear about it so I can complain about it to Keldarin.
I made around 100 clones today already all results are good.
If I get any requests for refunds I will be happy to craft a suitable replacement or to refund 80% of the price. I tried to sell only pets that were within a 'reasonable' range of CL, and kept all the other questionables as toys for me and my guild to play with. But, I have found my judgement didn't always meet the current reality.
Considering the scale of the cutbacks I think it is reasonable to educate unhappy buyers about the bugs and meet them half way. We really were in the dark and had just our instincts and common sense to go on. It would have been very different had there been ANY response from devs or correspondents about these issues.

How about my CL10 pet with 2-5k ham, 10-15% resists and many vulnerabilities that only did 110-120 damage.. was that an obvious one as well I should have known better on? Because they all became invalid as well you realize... you do realize that correct? You know that most of us that avoided the uber cl10 pets were still screwed over?
I'm not a CH or BE at all. All I know is my new CL10 non-CH Gurrcat can't be called since this morningeven by a Master CH. I didn't ask for an uber non-CH pet, just one that was at least a little better than a wild one. Well, it is significantly better than what you can find in the wild, but not extravagantly so, not like the uber examples.
I do expect a refund or a replacement pet,not from my BE who AFAIK did nothing at all wrong, but from SOE, who IMHO screwed up bigtime with this fix.
