I wouldnt recommend asking what our role is in any respect, we'll just get told it's whatever we want it to be
Something to consider when picking a question - is TH likely to be able to answer it easily and quickly?
The simpler and easier to answer the question is - the more likely we are to get a good response.

I would go for the damage type of ranged attacks as well who knows might actually start keeping the pets that this happens to bleed through on.

Looks like the ranged attack question is in the lead so far - I think its a good one - its nice and simple and not too hard to answer

The ranged attack one is a good one (it's kinetic btw, if ya wanted to save time hehe). I'm always a fan of the "what in the world is 'secret research data' " question myself, but we probably still won't get a decent answer for that one.

If we ask about secret research data we're likely to be told exactly what we've already been - possibly with the addition of 'its a secret - duh' or words to that effect

My only gripe about this question is what does it have to do with us as a Profession?

I like the Ranged Question, but I think it's Kin. It seems to be resisted by Kin resist armor more than anything... What I'd be interested in is the non transfer of special attacks. A question something like;

"We are aware that when a Bio-engineer takes a DNA sample, displayed in the information are the Special Attacks. Some of these attacks, though they appear on the DNA sample, do not 'carry over' to the pet itself. To date we know that the following attacks are not able to transfer over to the final product;

Area Attacks

Force Strike etc etc. (list the ones we know here)

We would like to know if this is a bug, or intentional? Will Bio-engineers ever have the ability to place these attacks onto pets and if so, how?"

Well, thats my suggestion anyways... I know there are more pressing things. Just my 2 pence worth.

I guess my point is, how will knowing this have any effect on being a BE? If its kinetic will it change how we create pets? Or acid? Or energy? I just don't see it effecting us at all regardless of the answer, so that's why I question it.

I do believe that knowing the ranged attack is a skill given in the Ranger profession. They've already had nearly their entire profession made useless, that would probably be the stake through the heart.

I am not sure if rangers can tell if a creature has ranged attack or not. I do remember seeing the special attacks when I was one. The issue here is damage type, not if it is or isn't. This is important to know as many of our customers will be more interested in ranged attacks if it was acid damage. Acid damage does make sense in a way. The bile drench quaker should do acid damage. We could expand upon this a bit more with something like:

There has been a debate about what kind of damage ranged attacks performed by creatured do. Some believe it is kinetic while other acid. BEs able to make different damage types into their animals is a very attractive idea. What damage type is ranged attack and could we see animals in the future that can do different damage types to make both BE/CH more interesting as well as fighting PvE more interesting?

If the type of damage done my ranged attacks is kinetic, then we have a very very serious bug to report, but I'm fairly certain that it's not. Like I reported last week, a friend of mine reported that his poor pet with light armor and 60% kinetic was taking 200+ hits from regular voritors and voritor dashers in a spitting contest.

And quite frankly, there's nothing that I can do to help him if I have no idea what type of damage is being done. I can give him a pet with no ranged, but then it engages one and gets spitted on by the rest, no good.

I think whatever form of damage that is instantly gets elevated in importance in my view when I'm doing resists.

The other thing that would be cool about knowing this, is just think how easy taking out a nest of critters that have a ranged attack would be if you had a ranged attack pet with armor and potentially 80+% resists to the type of damage that they do (don't forget, that 60% cap only applies to kinetic and energy).... something to consider.
