If anyone thinks that, since we put forth the "invalid pet" question, anything tangible is going toflow through the Q/A session they are, no doubt, in for a disappointment.

TH will give us a BS answer (like he does with all the questions that arent on the DEV's immediate radar) that is not going to amount to jack or sh*t... And Jack left town.

Any hope of this bug being fixed anytime soon will require an effort on our parts... Otherwise, as Nancy said, we will just have to wait till it gets fixed on the DEV's on good time.

Unfortunately I despise math and I do not keep spreadsheet or any documentation when I make pets... Math gives me a big headache that even the biggest advil and asprin combo cant touch... So some of yall who do that kind of stuff need to start sending that data to Nancy

Crafting need not have bugs to be exciting...

Would you prfer us to sit and twiddle our thumbs and wait for the devs to be able to free up the human resources to test every possible DNA combination so they can get to the bottom of this problem?

Any decent programmer could easily write a nested For Loop to test every possible combination. In fact, I could do it in a matter of minutes and even an old 486 could process the results rather quickly...

At the end of the day if you want a game thats bare-bones and bug free then play City of Heros - no-one is forcing you to play SWG.

Are you telling me that a good game can't be bug free? Bugs are introduced due to poor preplanning and psuedocoding....

I thought you were a programmer, Nancy. Maybe you are just a hobbiest programmer...

Anyways, I am a professional programmer and can assure you this program (SWG) is all by itself, for a large scale product, when it comes to quality code.

I know you are on the other team now but that is no reason to make excuses for the obvious...

I love all the 'professional' programmers who say "I can fix all these problems in no time at all and be twice as good as any delveoper working on SWG" when they haven't had a single look at the code they aretalking about.

I doubt a true professional would make blind statements like thatif they wouldactually be expected to back it up. *rollseyes*

Since they already told us no on storage and they keep beating around the bush on invalid pets, there really isn't much more to ask.

1) I'd like to see more tissues, like Armorsmith tissues and/or droid tissues (Androids?)
2) Are they considering giving BEs SEAs?

I have decided that I shall add to the enjoyement of "What Is" verses what we "Wish" things should be.

I can figure out what makes a legit level 10 pet. NP. If they ever fix it, bonus.

I can now target specific critter types and soon will be able to go after select critters. DNA storage will be a problem, but with my crafting droid, I can deal with crafting in the field. And once Evyl masters Ranger along with her BE master she just finished, she can grind in the wild in Total comfort (nice camps).

So I shall add to the positive from now on and work around all the snags, problems and issues.

My GF and I have crafters in all professions except DE. There isn't enough time in the day to complain about the bugs ni each of them, so from now on, I won't bother.

Let's have fun doing what we can with what we have.

I would like my last 19Q to be...

"Can the developers make a list of all the improvements they have made to BE to-date, so we can appreciate the work they have done thus far for us?"

Thanks

As I understand it the problem with more dna storage is that they don't want to take up more server space. Therefore, any way to store it needs to be one which doesn't store more items.

Now whilst the "blood idea" - as I understand it - tries to do several things at once (like make blood able to be harvested) - a simpler idea would be to make dna from the same creature and the same quality stackable in a "blood bank". Now I know that this would mean losing the individual data on the dna when its combined, but separate and random dna stats could be "generated" just like they are now when you draw dna from the relevant creature. So you have stack of hq kima dna, when you split one off, the count goes down and a hq kima dna is randomly genereated - so you won't necessarily get back out of the stack what you put in it - but does that matter (you can always choose not to combine any really good dna you sample)? As I am sure the devs will spot there will need to be some mechanism to prevent multiple "put on the stack and withdraw until you get the perfect sample" attempts.

Anway it strikes me that this is a simple way to store dna (sure you will still need one space for each creature and each quality - but its still a lot better), where server space is not compromised (just need a count with each stack) and which is quite workable.

But it will still take dev time and we all know that is in scarce supply just now.

my vote for a question (yes, we are asking a question not giving a wish list) is about the ranged attack thingy. I'd like to know what form of damage pets and wild creatures use when they hit with a ranged attack.

hrm my question has to be:

Can they use their own technology and resources to hunt down the CL 10 problem as well as our handed in info, because they have the code and should know how it works, Any help we can give in terms of CL 10 combinations which get restricted we can give. But i feel this problem needs to beacted onas soon as possible, and they should havemore means to track the problems than we do. There needs to be a finalisation on this as most BE refuse to make bugged CL 10's atm and thats a very wide market we just cant use.

I for one would like to ask about the 'Secret Research Data'.

We've had that as an optional component since the chef revamp I think and we have only gotten one so-so answer on it.

I think this has the best chance of actually getting a somewhat straight answer... we already had a revamp so they won't add too much to us before JTL, they've already 'answered' the question of CL during crafting and DNA storage.

Besides, since it seems like they enjoy the loot aspect of tying the professions together, we stand the best chance of them getting around to our problem of the 'SRD' relatively soon.

This is the question I would offer up to the developers.

With the nerf to Creature Handlers, the breaking of creature cloning, and the fact thatBio-Clothing does not degradewe find more and more that a Bio-Engineers only place in this universe is nothing more then asecondary professionfor Chefs. Many of us having been waiting for nearly a year to see a working profession but have been thwarted over and over to the tune of Combat rebalance and JTL come first, or a poor attempt at throwing us a bone with new skins and a so called fix. With many people considering quitting the game or moving on to a different profession, do the Developers feel that maybe it's necessary to fix bio-engineer instead of making it's players wait another 6 months to a year before you even consider working on it?

I'm like a kid - I like to ask why.

Why don't BE have any SEAs?
Why, since SONY has said that the best items in the game would be player-created, can't BEs create tissues that replace ALL types of SEAs AND some that go in armor?
Why is it necessary to have two samples of the same quality and same animal but have slightly different stats (potential way to reduce the database effect we seem to be causing, and leads into the "blood"-sample solution)?
Why have they not fixed the 0/0 condition - skill bonus bug?
Why is it every time we come up with a recipe for a pet that is more powerful than a wild creature the devs decide to nerf them?
Why is it we cannot have definitive limits for what exactly is a "powerful" pet versus an "invalid" pet?
Why can we not have some easier way of harvesting fish or increasing our yield?
Why can we not have dairies?
Why can we not have meat houses?

The only questions I have that aren't why, they're "what"s.
What is our role in the combat rebalance?
What is our role in the JTLS expansion?
