Well give us your reasons and then we can have a proper discussion.

You could manually make stuff faster. Factories allow you to make things unattended. Are you suggesting factories should work unattended and faster? The trade off of a factory is it works 24x7 even when you are not logged on. Seems a good tradeoff for me.

I would like to see the factory production time of componets needed in crates
sped up . Yes you can hand craft faster by hand but not the componets needed
in crates. Also seems in real life mass production is made faster by factories.

I was just reading a thread about OMU's and crates. I had a thought for an alternative use for factories. Tell me what you think. It is simply allow a person to take NON-identicle items of the same type, put them into a factory ingredience hopper turn it on and they come out crated and all with identical serial numbers. It could use a certain resource too in the process. Or perhaps a component specific to the job, say you need to make empty crates to add to the ingredience. Or maybe all the Unlocked Containers that are being deleted could be used for this.

Hmm I don't think that's such a great thing. It would be convenient but I think the current system works fine. It would be nice however to crate identical serial items. So you could crate power cubes, heavy clasps and the like.

Yes, but factories are manned in real life as well. Even droid factories are manned. And factories in real life require a lot more real maintenance work and programming work than the simple system we employ.

I kinda feel that way myself... you want to make more things faster use mroe facotries... I run 5 factories 24/7 just on grenades.... look at each factories as an indivdual worker... and a huge factory complex would be were you get the real production... out of like 10-20 facotries.
I want the ability to chain schematics and to move items from the output to input more easily.

I don't get the Aerosmith reference.
They could makeit work like the recycler tools basically. It would have to make the resulting parts have low stats, maybe 0 out any stat. Otherwise you'd have people getting good parts from junk and that isn't good. And they'd have to make it so it wouldn't work with any loot components or that would mess things up for the loot schematics that use them.It would be handy to make use of some misc. small structure storage module parts or stuff like that.

Aerosmith: an old 70's rock and roll band. One of their favorite hits from those days was a song called, "Dream on".
So, since all of you already know that suggestions are like a snowball's chance in hell around here of becoming a reality, I posted the Aerosmith quote...
Didnt want to get flamed or crucified, so I didnt put the actual title in til now. Im too tired to care about flaming now.
