No the equipment factory is not the same. The one you need for architect stuff is the "Deed for Structure Factory". Are you at a crafting station? You might need to be at a private crafting station in order to get the schematic for the factory. The higher complexity items require a private crafting station.

You're sure you have Installations I? You said originally you're 1-1-0-1 and the 0 there is INstallations I.
And you''re using a Structure and Furniture crafting tool?

Yeah...oops...wasn't 1/1/0/1 I meant to say 1/1/1/0. Yeah I have installations 1.

Then the structure factory deed should be in the list in your structure and crafting tool when standing at a private strcture and furniture crafting station.

Ok this is weird. I just got Installations 2 and now I can craft the structures and furniture factories even though on the skill tree it had it listed under Instalations 1. I can also craft other factories listed under Installations I plus everything included with Installations 2. I have another question about factories now. If I make a schematic with certain resourves do I have to use those resources in my factory?

Yes. When you makea schematic, you can look at it in the datapad and it will tell you what resources and components went into making it. You must have the same named resource listed there as well as the same serial number for the particular component.
Some items you do not need exact components, like for walls. You can mix and match any type of structural module to make a wall.

What is necessary to make factory productions. I want to make crates of traps and whatnot, butb have no idea how to go about it. Can a non-artisan own a factory? Any help would be appreciated.

For scout/ranger items: An equipment factory. And yes, anyone can own or operate any type of factory. You can only utilize it if you have a schematic in your datapad. (you can create scout/ranger schematics by using a private or public crafting station, or the one in your own HTFB camp).

To make the factory run, you need a large enough single stack (or same-serial 100k stacks) of each resource to make as many as you want plus one, up to a max of 1001 (factory run of 1000 plus one set that gets used to make the schematic). Recyclers help here to turn all those small stacks into one large stack same serial.
You go about the normal crafting process of making product X (P-Dart for example), but make sure you do it in front of that crafting station as previosly mentioned. You'll notice an option to make a factory schematic instead along with the normal option to create prototype item. If you are making camo kits, you'll also have the option to experiment. Experimenting will get you more charges.
Make that schematic and name it whatever you like (ie: HTFB is my "Portable City") and tell it how many you want the run to make if you want to limit it (on the right, number up to 1000). This will put the schematic in your datapad.
Place or find an equipment factory you can use. It will need maintenance and power enough to last the duration of making your items. You can use the radial menus on the factory to do this.
Pull up the radial on the factory (click and hold or hit the tilde~ key). Choose options and the one that says use schematic. You'll select the schematic you want to run from your datapad. Now, open the input hopper (same options menu) and drag the materials needed from your inventory into the hopper (has to be the same serial number, no substitutions).
If you need, you can choose to "list items needed" from the options menu to see what the currently loaded schematic needs.
The first options selection should now be to start the factory running. Choose that. You can now /examine the factory and it will show on the left the schematic it is running, how many have been made, and how long it takes to make each item. Don't be surprised when it takes a LOT longer to make 1 item in a factory than it does to make one with your tool.
While the factory is running, you can stop it, or you can release the mouse over options to open the output hopper. If it's no longer running, the last option of output hopper is where your crates will be.
We have a field of factories and I used to enjoy setting up my HTFB in the middle of the field and having my station touching distance from the factories. I'm sure Weaponsmiths, DE's, Docs, Chefs, Tailors would cry nerf if they saw this and didn't have their crafting droids. Not sure if this is still possible or not.

Cool, This should be stickied, a chip butty for you sir, whether you want one or not!

Once you get into a factory mindset, one thing to consider is yaking some artisan so that you can operate your own vendor. There you can sell your wares to the population for a good amount of profit. In addition to gatherred resources I used to sell crates of small tents since everyone could use them and they were needed for creature deployment in the field.
