Thread: MOUNTS
Find a bol packrunner baby.
Tame it.
The "train creature as mount" option is the very last one before the abilities. Like the giant carrion spat, they are instantly trainable as a mount upon taming.
I will tell you one thing, though.
There is no way in hell I will grind a non-CH mount critter through several cycles to get it to be mountable. No way in bloody hell. The non-CH can do the grinding, I will not. Not when I have my own pets to grind for hours to get them part way back to what they had before they were viciously nerfed, AGAIN.
I think a lot of CHs will feel the same way.
The problem is I can't really see anything other than novelty to make it worthwhile, unless the Special Abilities provide for a damage capability that really improves a pet's performance. If they fixed the following speed issue, if they ramped up speed generallly, and if Fleet-Footed raised a pet to something like (at the top level of FF) 90% of a vehicle speed, then I could see that people might be happy with a pet, but as it stands novelty seems to be the main attraction.
So until then, I guess people are going to be raising and leveling them themselves.

So now anyone who wants a mount simply has to go up to a Creature Handler Trainer and give it the pet he wants mounted, and it comes back as a CL10 mounted pet. A MOUNTED PET.
One of the things I've always loved about CH was the ability to train mounts for players. Not to make money, but it was fun.
So what's next? Can we buy weapons and armor from the Weaponsmith and Armorsmith vendors? Maybe we can get buffs from the Doctor trainers, and our inspiration buffs from the Dancer trainers.
Heck, why have players involved at all?
The more they meddle, the more they screw it up!
Ouch.. I mis-read it. A TRAINER can adjust the pet level to CL10 and get it mounted?? Hmmm.

This is from the old pet trade in system (implemented when non-CH abilities were nerft from level 15 to level 10). u could give a non-BE pet of Level 11 - 15 to a CH-trainer and get a controlable pet of a "similar" kind back. u could give a baby and got back a full grown pet. but u couldnt be sure to get a mount for a mount - for example a CuPa (then Level 11) was traded against a non-mountable Kwi.

Please, let's hear what excperiences you've found. If this is part of the new system or a left-over from the old CU changeover, then I think we need to add this to the bug/want list.
This is from way before the CU buddy. I might be mistaken but I think this came in to the game around patch 10, someone pelase correct me if I'm wrong about the exact patch but I seem to remember this happening around that time.

I tried once and it said "this system is reserved for Non creature handlers only. Please Consult "pet trade-in" in your holocron for details." LOL So I dunno, I asked a few people standing around to help me but a favor is too much to ask anyone nowadays.

There area few things to consider here. Was the pet you tried to trade in CL11-15?, Areyou a CH? If so did you actually read the system message that said this system is reserved for "Non creature handelers only", And did you actually consult the in game holocron system for help?

great! i have grinded MBE and am just starting CH... it's nice to know that i cant make mounts to sell to non-CH..
this needs to be fixed ASAP. put the animals back to how they used to be! let time decide how big they are
You can still MAKE them (CL10 dewbacks and falumpasets only, tho) but your customer needs to have a CH or be a CH to level the pet to gain it in maturity so that it grows in size. I, too, think the fact that pet sizes are determined by how much you fight with them instead of time (which is more realistic) is stupid. It does put a tad bit of damper on the BE profession since we can't make as wide a variety of mounts for Non-CHs anymore, but the majority of the burden has been put on CHs since it's up to them to level a pet in size for Non-CHs. And even then, BE made ones are a little smaller than wild ones, which looks funny ![]()
