My Top 5 Issues


I'm really hoping that the developers give some major attention to the Bounty Hunter profession in the combat balance.


A few of my hopes for Bounty Hunters....


#1 Give us defenses and offenses.In my opinion, this is the biggest issue. Defense vs. Everything needs to be added.Also, since other professions have been boosted (foods / defenses / buffs / armor / etc.) our offense powerhas been decreased.


#2 Add gadgets, traps, weapons, and armorfor usage. We need to stand a chance against Jedi targets.


Maybe LLC-line should be replaced with Bounty Hunter gadgets and weapons line (LLC still kept)?

...Improve LLC accuracy and maybethe LLCshouldbe considered as a rifle?

...Maybe addhumanoid traps (ranged defense downor one that slows downhumanoid targets... maybe 20% decrease in speed and no burst run ability for 15 seconds?).

...Maybe add aforearm flamethrower (short range of 10m)? Boost our melee defense so that we can actually use this weapon and the LLC.

...Maybe add a forearm spear-gun that stuns and damages?

...Maybe add anew dizzy/stunattack for pistols, a snub-nose stun carbine that causes action bleeds, ora couple of Bounty Hunterrifles with a different damage types and purposes?


#3 Remove all Scout requirements (maybe only require terrain navigation).


#4 Fix and addMaster Bounty Hunter specials. (Maybe add intimidate to Fast Blast?)


#5 Give us tools to compete with near Master Jedi in battle. Fix the bugs and exploits that prevent Bounty Hunters from huntingJedi.

1. Smuggler bounties: C'mon, we want it, they want it...you know you want to give us it.

2. Fix FastBlast. SprayShot2 rocks....make it mechanically similar but worthy of a 217pt master box.

3. Investigation Missions: Both PvE and Jedi...fix the bugs and exploits on both sides.

4. Bury the LLC: Give us a rifle line.

5. Perks for masters: +1 mission difficulty, new weapon certs for BH specific carbine, rifle and pistol (WESTAR-34 please )

Not sure if it's even been suggested but wouldn't it be fun to have missions where we had to actually capture our mark instead of killing them?



We would need Traps like knock out darts or Nets to capture the mark.

The main thing I care about for the top 5 is weapon accuracy. They could give us the most powerful specials in the game but if someone dodges every single one of our shots then they are worthless. I would like to be able to hit the broad side of a barn without having to dabble other professions to get weaon accuracy. Then I could pick up something like medic to help me when it gets rough.

Well, one thing is certainly clear as can bee seen in just about every post in this thread. BH is hurting badly, and at this point in the game, I can think of 217 reasons to drop it and only 1 reason to keep it. The fact that when I bought this game and saw the choice of professions, BOUNTY HUNTER, by far, seemed to be the most exciting. With all the changes made to a majority of the rest of the professions, the excitement is all but gone. For this reason, I created another charater on another server (TKM/Master Smuggler/Master Pistoleer) to get away from the frustrations and aggravation I'd been enduring playing MBH. I must say, these days playing my second character are much more fun and rewarding.


IMHO, when in the presents of a MBH, other classes should be thinking, "there is a MBH, I don't want to mess with him." Sadly, this is the exact opposite. These days, other PCs think, "Oh, there is a MBH, wonder if I can sucker him/her into a duel?!?!?" This is a class that is supposedly DESIGNED and CREATED to HUNT the most ELITE profession in the game-JEDI. This being the case, we should have the skills that reflect this!! After all, we've commited 217 of 250 points toone single profession. I realize BH isnt the only nerfed profession out there, but you've got jedi out there that are getting stronger by the hour because they have little or no fear of being overcome by a BH. For monthes, jedi have had their skills HANDED to them because the BH-Jedi missions didnt work. Thats a free meal ticket whether you refuse to believe it or not. Reality check here DEVELOPMENT TEAM... Being a Jedi is intended to be the BIG REWARD of the game. This is what everyone is supposed to be striving for. The way you keep putting things off, we're gonna have a handful of Jedi Masters on every server before you even manage to get our profession working as it should.(for those of you that are jedi, this is no fault of yours and Im not saying that gaining XP is easy, Im just saying that its been ALOT easier getting it without having to worry about BH breathing down your neck. The next generation of initiate jedi will certainly atest to this in the near future I'm sure.)


Now that the griping is over, down to the changes...


1) BH were intended to be hi-power offense, low defense.


Solution: fine, give us a hi-powered offense then. as of right now, throwing rocks at targets in a PvP environment does more damage. FIX OUR SPECIALS ALL ACROSS OUR SKILLTREE!!! Fast blast=shooting rubberbands... this isn't the only one but need I say more?


2) Player Jedi bounty missions need to be restricted to MASTER BH. Also have NPC missions across the board reflect their "worth." A bounty mission off planet will roughly take 30-40 minutes of time, and can cost nearly 10K just in traveling expenses, not to mention, the cost in BH droids. Missionsas they stand now, are just not economic. Who in their right mind wants to do this when you can go to Dantooine and earna minimum of 100K p/hour running solo missions even if they are redundant and monotanous.


2a)Allow Master Smugglersa CHANCE (with a chance to fail) toslice BH terms to remove a Jedi Bounty. There is now a bountyon theSmuggler too. they want it, we want it, shaddup and give it to us.


3)Scouting Skills--Development has a choice here... can we rust them to make the right one?? Probably not, but in th best interest of EVERYONE, here is a mere suggestion. I'm sure Rangers would also like to see more usefulness in the Scout profession. As stated before, terrain negotiation and harvesting are the only things this is good for. Stated earlier was the exceelent idea of adding some sort of human trap. (^modify the existing traps^- less work for developers and less chance for another flogging... ermmm, I mean nerfing to another profession)


4)DONT GET RID OF THE LLC!! Despite its less than desireable qualities, it IS the TRADEMARK weapon of the BH!! (IMHO is still one of the coolest weapons in the game) Revamp its use. Incorporate longer range specials and greater accuracy.


5)Make BH items BH specific. IE... the new BH armor thats out, it's ONLY FOR BH. Certification is key, just like weapons. This also will curb tonguelashing from BH to the Development team inthe future about seeing entertainers wearing BH armor while macroing in a cantina!!! It would also be very ironic and out of place to see a Jedi wearing something made for a BH!! This type of thinking should be consistent in ALL pofessions. You wont see a BH wearing a dancer's leotard afterall!!

More elaboration on the LLC...


Perhaps more accuracy is not the 'best' solution. Think of the term Light Lightning Cannon. A "cannon" isnt meant to have pinpoint accuracy like a rifle. Perhaps you could enhance it by giving it a bigger damage 'radius.' Anyway, just an afterthought from my roiginal post.

well i just spent the last hour or so reading this thread, and i have seen some very good ideas, and some not so good.


PersonallyI would like to see the current features of the game that dont work as intended fixed before new features added, but heres my top 5 things i would eventually like to see in the game:


1. Fix the invisble marks...nothing sucks more than shuttle hopping for 10-20 minutes to find a 5 minute kill is not there/unable to be seen.


2. Make the 217 SP Profession worth it. Dropping 2 rows of Scout would allow us to follow other avenues to increase our offence & defense.


3. Put different Player Character Professions on the BH Mission Terminals (i.e - Smugglers, Guild Leaders, High Ranking Faction Officials etc ) I think this would make the game as a whole more interesting, and more politicaly sensitive. Also the ability for Guild Leaders to put Bounties on other Guild Leaders could lead to some very interesting battles, with Bounty Hunters "hired" to carry out certain tasks.


4. Make Master Bounty Hunter worth the hike it is to get ther. Although im still only 3-3-3-3, with another 14k Investigation to get yet, it sounds like not much will change from whereI am now other than a few more specials and ranged defense.


5. Give us some unique clothes/armor/gadgets. Im sick of seeing Composite armor on every man and his dog. How about a certification to use special things like wrist grapple hooks to restrain the mark, the jetpack could fall under this cert too.....maybe im thinking of the Fett family too much, but we're bounty hunters for god's sake not commandos.


I have no doubt the Devs will see this as a cry for help, and make SOME changes, but this profession will die a slow death if things dont happen soon.

Major dissapointment in the game. Arguably one of the mose feared professions in the Star Wars "universe" , BH in SWG is not much more thanan effective way of using up your skill points. I continue to play the profession in hopes of teh Devs making some seriouos revamps in the network.


I agree that the profession needs to have more adequate rewards since it takes up so many skill points.


YES we need better defense and offense abilities. This isa must! how deadly can a BH be if he can be incapped while fighting a low-level rifleman? Almost every other combat profession gets skill mods to thier advancement except BH. We should be among the most difficult professions to hit in the game. BH is not a feared profession in SWG, and it should be. We allocate several hours of gameplay and sacrefice more skill point than any other combat profession for minor rewards.


Continuing on the "rewards" tip: Have BH only armor or gadgets. This would not only make BH a more fun profession but add a bit of "authenticity" to the game. BH in teh Star Wars universe were not well respected because they did whatever they had to do capture or kill a mark. That means they cheated. They used snares, nets, traps, poisons and various other types of "underhanded" means to subdue a querry. We currently have none of these options. We have to run -n-gun like everyone else. No advantage, no tricks, no gadgets... no fun.


OK i think every BH in teh game has been through the frustrationof having a mark comletely dissapear or spawn inside and rock, tree, building or other structure so u can't target him. After all the waiting on shuttles, cost of travel tickets, and wear on your speeder, it's quite annoying to find your mark where you can't attack him- or just dissapear all together. we need to fix this. Really.


Bottom line: we need to be a more combat competetive profession. Give the BH class something to be proud of. Something effective against PVE and PVP combat opponents alike. BH were renown for thier edge in combat. We have none.

true, i am new and have noticed that my BH sucks. invest 3 is hard and i havent played in a week. the devs really did just mess up the most popular prof in starwras. Bobba fett is way more popular than luck skywalker. they should treat us like george lucas intended the BH to be. lethal, cheap, and deadly. remmber the BH and darth vader were one person at one time. george lucas was going to have the story around a rouge Bounty Hunter jedi, or something like that. then bobba fett and darth vader split into there own people after he changed it around. go to www.starwars.com it has the exact behind the scences story about bobba fett and vader.



We should be feared, people should think i am not going to fight a BH. i think that BH should be even harder to get. it should almost be on par with jedi. it is the only proffession were you see someone going toe to toe witha jedi. show me how many TKA do you see in the starwars movies kicking but?

i have many issues on i would like fixed on bounty hunter profession but tanks you cover most of them.main thing i want fixed is ham drops while using specials.also llc is supposed to be ranged weapon our specials should be able to be done from a distance.
