I was Master Pistol/MCH and frankly, pistols suck, most specials do not work and the damage output is too low. This was originally because pistol was supposed to be fast. They capped the speed but did not up the damage. Most of the specials that do work are pretty useless. Needless to say, I dropped it.

Alot of people play MR/MCH and are quite happy with the combo. I am TKM with MCH and love it. Some one mentioned the powerboost already. I also love the Mediation line. I hunt rare creatures and most of those have some nasty poison/disease. The ability to cure my own poison/disease and heal my own wounds keeps me hunting instead of trying to find a non-bufbot doctor. The disadvantage is I do kinetic damage and pets do kinetic damage. When I run into a 100% kinetic resist MOB I have to pass. With armor and buffs, I can take on just about everything in the game.

yeah, the more i'm crunching the numbers the more it seems that TKM is the way to go. It's not so bad having 2 melee players in this sense. At this point i'm only pistol 1/0/0/0 but wanted to hear some other opinions before i spend the combat xp on the first box.

I've done MBH before but I had better luck with the LLC than pistol or carbine and now that I think of it, the carbine killed me faster than anything i was killing. And although its tempting to go for investigation to see if i'm on the terms, I'm not sure if i'm willing to do the investigation tree again (this would be the 4'th time).

So I thank you all for your input, I think i'm going to go unarmed. I like heading out into the wild and only coming back when the BF hits 1000, so powerboost and meditate for healing are very attractive. Plus if I master before combat upgrade, i could always trade off for ranged then...

i just did comando in june and to be honest, i hated it. The flame thrower didn't do nearly what i expected, when it hit, and i mastered all of comando using the LLC from BH since it was better than any of the comando weapons I had.

Commando would be good if you only plan on fighting things with low heat resists. Flame throwers also also have horrible recycle times on specials, so if you miss you'll be standing there doing nothing for a while. And the Heavy acid rifle (with the samespecial limit, higher HAM costs and no DOT)is only good for killing lairs to savecondition on the FT.

I have a Pistoleer/CH/Scout thing going. Usually I stand 60-ish meters out and do a couple of health shots to start the target bleeding, then head in. About 40m out I switch to my striker pistol (best range at 30m) and send me pet(s) in. Then at 30m, I kneel and fire away. If the creature gets closer, I switch to my "uber" scout blaster which is good at point blank (0m).

The basic strat that I have is to let my pet slow the creature down, or keep it back while I light it up with my pistols. I rarely wear armor anymore, and only use brandy from time to time. I never fight big game, so keeping my pets healed isn't a problem in fights.

Hi there !

I am currently in the process of opening a new Buff shop. The real competition is currently held by 1 other known vendor, who has good 900 and above 90MU buff packs.

I managed to craft decent adv. components, but I faced failure when crafting the actual packs (PE on meat too low, DR on Gas too low). I am waiting for a good spawn on both ressources before investiong any efforts in the crafting...

While I am doing so, I am grinding to get FS and get the Crafing FS Skills, which will help I'm sure in the future crafting. Aside from that, I already have a good station, good tools, bivioli, BE clothes... no money for +20 Exp tapes for now...

Is there any way constructive I could do in preparation ??? I am selling the ressources I will not use (even if High OQ... there is no way I will pierce through the market with crappy 778-800 packs while waiting for the spawns...

Any advice?

Here are my comments for what they are worth.

1. There are many docs that make great buffs on your server. It is much more fun to work with them than to think of them only as compitition. Try getting to know them.

2. I hope your pulling the current class 4 petro since it is the best ever on your server.

3. I hope your out hunting the talus avian.

4. I started by making 800ish packs at a time when all the avain was only able to make 800ish packs. Believe it or not if you have a good duration on those packs with a good number of charges then they will sell well. I currently sell a ton of 820ish packs which are great for anyone who is just grinding exp.

5. If you ever want to make 90MU packs you will need to get +11 med exp. If you want a free +5 apron give me a yell in game. Then you will only need 5 (+1) tapes which are cheap.

6. The FS will not improve the buff. It will only prevent you from getting lower end exp or critical fails which force you to try again. The power on the buff will be set by your resouces.

7. While waiting on good supplies of avain or gas try making other meds. I make a few mil a week of stims, cures, and other things. I would make more but I cant keep them stocked.

8. If your going to the village to grind FS then hang out there with your doc tag up and buff for cash and get to know folks. The Phase 4 attacks result in lots of dead peeps that need rebuffing.

always always always always look for better resources.

example

i went and gathered up money to buy 100k of this gas at 5cpu in an auction 950+ OQ with a 650+ DR, not too shabby.

not more than a month later we have a spawn of this 980OQ 950DR gas, what do i do? haul ALL my extractors/factories out of where they are (I just finished crating my first buffpacks, 892 power @ 2hrs 54minutes) and drop 8 gas extractors (i had to buy 6) to harvest this gas. got a 91%, getting over 100k a day.

why would i do this

well i swapped out my gasand left the other minerals and components the same, hit 900 for for 3hrs 20mins, that gas made THAT much difference. and whatever i don't use now, i can use later, OR sell it during tough times, that will sell for MUCHO money, 10-20cpu if i sit on it.

point is i'm trying to make ALWAYS keep up with current resources, and as soon as something better than what you have or just really good in general, MINE THE SH!T OUT OF IT. don't be like, well i got 2 extractors on some wild wheat, 2 on fiberplast, 2 on iron, 2 some oats, and my house, and then just make buff packs with that. that's sloppy, you'll never know when they'll roll over, you'll be all over the galaxy, you might forget, take your time... and be organized. you'd be surprised how much +20 OQ or PE will do, ESPECIALLY with gas or avian.

I must agree with both prior posters. I always look to improve my inventory of raw resources, and I always make buffs with the best stuff that I have currently.

As one of your competitors (Flurry here as well), I would agree with Marrow that low 800 power packs do sell. I have been selling packs for a while now and the only standard that I have set for my packs is all will be at least 809 power. At 809 power, a master doctor will hit 2000 without using bivoli. You will not be able to sell the packs for huge money, but I find it is the striving to improve my raw materials (and witness the improvement in the final product) that brings satisfaction. All my packs turn a nice profit for myself as well as the consumer (if they are public buffers).

And Marrow is also correct about the Talus avian. I am turning those into 878-890 power packs as we speak...

Let me know if you have any particular resource questions. I like to help.

while on Flurry, don't visit Ojes Yobe's Liquidation Vendors just 800M from Theed starport on Naboo (neg5219 3419) - cause they ain't there anymore! They are now exclusively located in Mos Athens Mall

First of all, many thanks for your replies. I do not see you guys as competition... as negative competition foresay. You are both truly well established on Flurry and it will be hard to establish a good name with such good products you sell... I usually use iootnega medical ressources database... since there is no data for Class 4 Liquid, I didn't know it had spawned... for Talus meat, I knew

I was wondering what kind of prices you sold your 800ish packs for ? I was thinking around 150K for a crate of 10 maybe, with 3.2 hours duration , 91MU ... and maybe 300K for a crate of 10 for 900ish packs? I don't really know ...

Is it worth it to craft woudpacks d ? the components requirements are high, and I was wondering if the market was there ???

Thank you all for your kind help

PS. Marrow : Ill glady take the apron
Edit: Thanks for the Class 4 heads up ! I managed to put 14 BER13 Harvestors on 80% spots before I go to bed (it is very late here in Germany... but the ooportunity was too good to wait... hopefully the spawn will last another day or two, enought to get me at least a million...)

The best way to price your buffs is to take a walk through corronet and see what docs are charging for buffs of the same quality that you plan to make. Then cut that price about 1/3-1/2 or so.

I have been seeing more and more wounds lately with JTL, even on secondaries. I think the reason is that often people dont whear armor in space so their enc is below their base stats when allows for wounds when you get killed.

So yes, wound packs sell. However, I am not so sure about D's. I most just go with B's but that is mostly out of habbit.

There is currently some nice Alum you may want to pull as well if you ever plan on making fireblankets.

A new spawn of Tolium gas also poped up that is rather nice.

Glad to see you jumped on the class 4. You would have cried your eyes out if it despawend without jumping on it.

Argghh ! Hunting Talus Avian is a pain ... how do you do it ?

You cannot get any missions for them (fynocks,naps... nicht!!!), so you must areatrack all the time to find 4 and get 9 out of each of them... any better strats that what I do?
