Anyway, great job! and thanks again
ps. the gurrecks are out from the smugglers outpost on Endor.. I started at the rebel outpost and wandered for about an hour before someone pointed me to the proper place, then I had the baby in about 20 minutes (and 3 incaps later)..

With 2-1-0-0 I can teach them to attack, follow, store, and stay. As I read I cannot teach them thier name because I need magagement IV. Is that true?
No this is not true. You need to be able to teach them 4 commands before you can name them, so you can name them now. Oh, and you don't need 2-1-0-0 to tame and train GSPs either - you can do that at 1-1-0-0. The GSP is CL23 and is non-aggressive.
I also cant heal their mind in field because I don't have the skill to teach Trick 1 or 2.
This is true.
Also without the transfere command I see a problem in getting CH training help with them.
True again - without Transfer (learned at Management IV) you can't give them to another CH to teach them any more commands.
With all that being said, I really want to know if someone to teach them all the commands like group, trick 1 and trick 2. So if I stay at 2-1-0-0 does this mean I cannot trade these to a Master CH for him to train all 4 of these GSP in the commands I cant teach them?
Correct - you can't transfer pets above CL15 without the Transfer command.
I while back I just traded my rock beetle to a CH and he trained all the commands for my pet. Is there anyway to get my pet trained at the level Im at with a majority of the commands at all?
Not GSPs, noas they are CL23.
Or have I wasted my time in getting 4 baby GSP because I cant trade them even to trainthem or sell them. Can I trade them to anyone at all at the level I'm at?
I don't think you have wasted your time. While you can't trade them at all you can give them names and have 4 very nice combat pets.
My other question is how do they become adults? Do I just have to keep using them in battle till they "grow up"?
They grow to adulthood in your datapad in approximately 5 days - it doesn't matter if you use them or not.
If I had the transfere command can a CH make the GSP babies grow up right away when he trains them? Say I only use one of the babies all the time, what is the fastest way to make the others become adults?
They grow at the same rate for everybody - training doesn't make them grow. The baby's will all grow at the same rate.
I think you might want to consider dropping Taming 2 and instead learning Empathy 1. This would give you the ability to call and name your 4 GSPs while also teaching them the trick command to heal mind wounds.
hay,
informative post btw, sorry i'm new to the hole ch thing, so any help would be great, I understand you can use a GSP, and grand wrix at 1,1,0,0, but i need to know what skills i need to actually go out and taim them.
I'm sitting at 1,1,0,1, and am having trouble so if you people who know can clear this up, Thanks in advance.
I am pretty new to the game and CH. I have been healing the mind of my pet with pet stims. Works great. I keep a good stock (around 4-5 "packs" of 19 stims) with me and it lasts about 2 days of good hunting in a group. I also use these to heal other players pets in my group.
I bought a pet vitality thingy. it says 50 on it. I will not use this till my pets vit gets down to the 50 something mark due to the cost. (cost more than my 2 day supply of pet stims).
This thread is great for learning the ropes of CH. Thx guys for all the info.

Q: How long does it take for a baby to grow to adult-hood?
A: About a week. Nobody knows the exact formula. There are some thoughts that it grows 10% every 12 hours (thus growing fully in 5 days) and that perhaps it is somewhat random. Some have suggested that using your pet in combat and feeding the pet will cause it to grow faster, however that doesn't appear to be true (if it makes a difference, it is too slight to see.)
So does this hold true even if it's in your data pad or is it in 'stasis' when it's in there?

Q. After I've tamed the 4 pets I want and taught them all my commands, can I drop
Taming 1 & Empathy 1? I assume I can't drop Training 1 because then my pets
will become unusable. So does Taming 1 help me do anything but the initial
taming of my pet?
I don't intend to work on CH skills after that, and all those lv1 skills are pricey.
Likewise, in looking at pet stats, I'm a bit confused by the difference between 'Special Protection' and 'Effectiveness' for a pet.
As I understand Armor, 'Special Protection' negates damage entirely (so SP Kinetic 30% would reduce damage from 100 to 70). 'Effectiveness' means damage the armor will absorb (so Effectiveness Acid 20% would mean that if I was hit by an acid attack of 100, the armor would be damaged by 20, and I'd get hit with the other 80).
So a GSP with Special Protection 60% kinetic will take only 40% damage from melee attacks. That seems obvious to me. What does the 20% kinetic 'effectiveness' do on, say, a Greater Devlil? They don't wear armor. I don't see where the 20% damage goes.
I've asked a lot of CHs and gotten different answers. Likewise, I read the FAQ and am still confused about the answer.
Great FAQ thread though! I've learned quite a lot =)
For the curious: I'm a commando interested in having at least 1-2 pets that can tank for me while I kill stuff. I have a GSP & GWrix for tanking, and a Hilltop Kima & Greater Devlil for show, and as emergency backup pets.

Yes it grows while in the data pad. I'm not really sure of the formula either. I had a baby rancor which i bought at level 5, and it grew to lvl 20 in an hour, and i killed with it for a while, then put it away. I woke up the next day and it was lvl 35. Not it's 50 today. From 5 to 50 in 2 days.

See my link below about Pets not growing anymore. Actually they only grow when you are logged in. You can log in and immediately log out, come back the next day, and have 10% growth. If you dont log in for the day you get 0% growth.
This was not always the case. This was a stealth nerf sometime in August '03.
Well with the proposed CH changes ( which I am almost 100% sure will happen sooner or later wether you like it or not people )those skillswill be almostuseless. Id recommend climbing the CH tree, or dropping it all together. If your gonna spend the 60 points or whatever it is to climb scout just to get alevel 16 pet man than your wasting good points. Anyway thats my take on it.

I'm a bit tight on skill points (aren't we all?) and I'd like to surrender skills I don't need. I'm currently at CH 1-1-1-0. I have 4 pets over lv15. My question is;
