Ok, I just picked up a pretty decent level 1(0) cat so I had to get novice ch. My template now is Master Ranger, Master Rifleman, Novice CH.Here is my question, by getting novice ch I had to drop novice medic, which is hard for me. Would I lose a lot if I dropped master ranger and wayfaring 4 to gain back novice medic? Also would that make mea "poser" ranger ...please help!

Crikey, it's a conundrum, innit? To drop or not.

First off, you're a Ranger, you got to Master, and you're STILL a ranger even if you drop down a little. Don't think anyone here would think badly of you as a good number of us have had to unlearn a little to free up SP's before.

OK, what will you lose by dropping MR and Way IV?

The schematics for the camo kits: Dathomir, Endor, Lok.
Not a major loss, as the camo gets busted on those planets quite quickly. You could, if you wanted get in a stack of raw materials, do a couple of quick factory runs and churn out some crates of camo for later use? Reckon I'd just use /maskscent or ask a passing ranger to /conceal me if needs be.

Skill mods.

From Master:
+20 camo
+5 camping
+10 camping
+10 creature knowledge
+5 forage
+10 melee
+10 ranged
+10 rescue
+10 trapping

From Way IV
Burst Run Efficiency +10
Terrain Negotiation +20

That's roughly the equivalent of the skill mods you earned at Novice, half of Way III and all of Way II. It's a fair chunk, eh?

However, you have to weigh that up against the SP you are freeing up and making available to use for medic. Your creature knowledge is slightly down, you'll get hit a little more, tho not so much that you couldn't get some BE clothes to make up the defecit, likewise for camo/conceal. In the field though, you will be able to slap on a quick heal and keep yourself this side of the clone bay.

Once again it all comes down to how YOU feel most comfortable playing your character. me, I like to be able to heal group members, or at least get them back on their feet and able to RLF out of danger, I'd drop some of the odds and sods I'm tinkering with to keep a little bit of medic in my tree. FOr others, YMMV

it's a narglatch (sp?) with 5500 ham. Not an amazing animal, but still cool. However, I was checking the ch boards and apparently they consider these level 1(0) an exploit/cheat. I really didn't mean to stumble into and be a part of an exploit and I hope my account does not get affected! Nor do I wish my cool new pet to get deathblowed for good. I hope this is not as big an issue as the ch's make it sound.

Hmmnnn... I guess I am wondering why you had to get Novice Creature Handler to use a level 10 pet. All players can use a level 10 pet. I have a level 10 be Guerrick that has 6k ham and I use him quite effectively .. no ch at all for me ... plus, I have First Aid IV which gives me good skills to heal other players who hunt with me - I can't make meds, but I have a decent heal time rate and cant stop bleeding.

He doesnt mean a CL10 pet. A CL1(0) is a bugged BE pet from before december 2003. And be careful because it adds to missions as if it wasa full level usually CL50. But a lot of times at some you would have been to be able to control a level 50.What kind of pet is your CL1(0). I never use my CL1 for missions because it just feels like im doing something wrong. But i see people doing it all the time. So it must be ok

I suggest submitting a ticket to a CSR and they should be able to help you .

I have a level 0 Rancor that I got from a friend earlier this year. I've held on to him for emotional reasons (friend deleted his character) but I don't use him to hunt with. I just bring him out to impress new players.

I think the only way you will get in trouble for having one of these pets is if someone sees it and reports you for exploiting. Also keep in mind that these pets maybe automatically deleted from your datapad at one point.

Also were is a good place to get CH xp oh my primary skill are that of a Commando and BH. Thanks for any help and I plan on dropping BH since its already been mastered and gonna loose skills slowly. Thanks for the help.

Ok right now I'm grinding Swordman, almost at master and I'm wondering if BH is fun. As I was reading the BH forum I realized that you guys look like you're having fun, I mean it looks like you're doing the best profession.

so.... What do I need to become BH ? I know I need master marksman (which shouldn't be a problem) and exploration 4 (which I can get now, 30000 scouting exp). I mean, what weapons, equipment, droids. What skill should should I work on first. And I'm also wondering how much Jedi bounty worth.

Anyway, can you talk about your profession ? What's your best stories ? Best adventures ? Best bounty ? I would like to know more about bounty hunters.

Well they Were fun, I’m not so sure they are going to be. I think you better go run on the test server if it ever comes back up.

Unfortunately, I have found while holding a Llc on the test server a Bounty Hunter has no melee or ranged defenses at all (maybe only Master Marksman is applied or something).

I think you better give up on your Bounty Hunter Dream as they will all be but extinct very shortly as they wont run even PvE if the test server is any indication.

Like the guy above said give it a shot on TC and see how you like it, this is certainly the best way and time to see what type of class you want to roll with.

However, this is a fun class. Read some posts and see what people have to say. There are good experiences and bad experiences just like any other class. With BH you will be using a variety of weapons, and if you choose a ranged class you'll be relying on your wits more so than you would with any melee class where you can generally stand and fight as long as you are prepared. The thrill of BH obviously lays in tracking and killing your mark. The difficult part of BH is you dont have the defenses to solo high end content without a LOT of hit and run.

I have done swordsman and I enjoyed it combined with doctor. I could fight a Krayt on my own, and I could always heal the people around me in a fight. When I got tired of that I gave BH a try, and combined with carbineer its been the most fun I have had so far now that I am PvPing. Thats my 2 cents.
