TH,
who do we have to complain to to get you some **edit**ing help already? That you are in this position of having to communicate 2000 more things then you can deliver - on a daily basis - is just silly and the "business" is clearly hurting because of it.

TH can we get a solid set of dates for this "19 questions answered"? You posted last thursday so it's it going to be every thursday or are you on DT? (dev time, a week to them is a month for us)
Every Wednesday OR Thursday depending on how much is entailed in the answers...

Taken from TH's 19 Answers thread;
Swordsman
The Swordsmen profession has many redundant specials. Most are concerned with damage and simply vary the target (single target, AE, single target mind). Will the combat rebalance address new specials with new sorts of functionality or will it primarily be a re-tweaking of current specials and current functionality?
The combat balance will bring elements of both to a Swordsman’s specials with the lions share of focus on re-tweaking the current specials to be more effective. The challenge with “new specials” is whether or not it requires new animations. Creating new specials with new animations is heavy on the development side, but one thing the developers will be looking for are ways to create new effects with the existing specials to make them more fun and useful.
Hmm, so "all our mocap moves look the same, which is why all your attacks do the same thing".
Maybe when the Combat Rebalance lands in 3-4 months or whatever it is we'll see something different.
Edit: I can only assume TH didn't read Gabe's question properly

For next time we'll have to think of a more specific close-ended question Th can't go "wait for the CB" for methinks.
Maybe about the Hack, though the POS is already live on Endor. ![]()

Even though Gabe's question explicitly said "if the answer is going to be a vague 'wait for the combat balance' response, can you answer one of these other questions instead ?" he still went ahead and gave a vague 'wait for the combat balance' response

well I just got done reading the 19 answers thread(in the InLive forum) and it seems like no questions were answered at all. The main answer to almost all questions was "combat balance". while I think the combat balance is going to be nice, I think they are also using it as a crutch to get around difficult questions that they don't want to answer. as for our question, I didn't see anything in the answer that said anything about switching the stats. I guess I wanted a staight answer or something....oh, that's right they don't believe in that.

Ok, so next time we have to ask something concrete that can't be answered with a vague wave-off response, like why they felt we needed another AP2 kinetic weapon or what the hell are the other two ways to get the scythe.

Omg, TH is an idiot.
Calm down, the guy's just doing what he's told. Did you honestly expect any answer other than "wait for the combat balance?" If so then you, sir, are the idiot.
I knew the answer was going to be "blah blah the combat balance", thats not why I called TH an idiot. I called TH an idiot because his answer had NOTHING to do with the question. It looks like he didnt even read it.

Here are some observations:
- Any question that was remotely related to combat was answered with the "wait for the combat balance," answer. This included our specials question, the pikeman, carbineerand fencer weapon questions and the bounty hunter skill point question.
- The only questions that were answered were specific to a current special and how it is working now. The squad leader and marksman question prove this point. This is whyI wanted one of the combat profession correspondants to ask the "why does posture down/knockdown get canceled and the enemy stand up immediatelyby another posture down/knockdown being applied?" or "why does dizzy do nothing to creatures?". I think those questions would have gotten real answers, rather than the combat balance answer we are oh so loving now. (I posted about this in the Fencer, TKA, Swordsman & Brawler forum.) I am not bashing anyone for this, but maybe these can be asked in 2 weeks when we get to do this again.
- I find the comment made in the creature handler response to translate to "we're going to nerf you all."
- I also have heard that the armor cert for Mandalorian armor is a preview of what is to come. Evidently all armor will have certs in the future and these will be tied to certian professions. Supposedly composite will be Commando and Squad Leader only. Maybe a correspondant can verify this. I fully expect to see many, many threads complaining/whining/beggin/etc about the Mandalorian armor cert. I hope the DEVs are prepared to give out some information about why we now have armor certs and what justifies the certs. In addition, I find it slightly funny that the professions that complain about being skill point hogs got the cert.
- Once again, everyone is waiting on the combat balance to be the holy grail that will fix the game.
- I think the response to thefencer question pretty much answers any questions about the exectioner hack. Basically it came across as "so, we really don't care."
- The pikeman answer was also very showing of how involved the DEVs are with actual game play. I think the specific issue that was brought up will see more "press" once the TKA community figures out what they have to do to get a razor knuckler. I believe they use the nightsister vibro unit as well. How is a TKA going to kill her when their only damage type is KINETIC. I guess the TKAs will get the mandalorian armor for the Bounty Hunters and the Bounty Hunters will get the vibro units for hte TKAs (sure),
