lol to be honest, my 15k/20k/30k prices were for everyone but CH's. Every CH that walked into anchorhead was quoted the price of 300k by every MA there lol. We all agreed to gouge CH's for gouging everyone else. Like the above states, Sony intended vehicles to be cheap for everyone to have. In the spirit of that, anything over 6cpu imo is over priced. Personally I can profit at 3cpu, I'm not in it for the money, even tho I made 2 mill total already as of this post, and still selling btw, got a factory run of 100 working. I just want to sell at FAIR, AFFORDABLE prices to everyone.

Double post, I know, had a comment about the TRUE price of vehicles. As a master merchant, using Base 10 medium harvesters, I can collect resources at a price of 0.1 credit / 1 unit. now the swoop uses 8k of resources. If I sell it for cost, no profit, no loss, the price would be 800 credits for the swoop. Now I sold my swoops for 30k, so I made a 29.2k profit. It pays to mine resources yourself.

Ok, so i didn't read the whole of this thread, but going on the first few posts i guess it's all about how dumb the artisans that sold veccies cheap are. I disagree. I sold (and still am selling) vehicles for 4K/5K/6K. Why? Well, 1: I want poor people to be able afford them (if i wasn't an artisan there would be NO WAY i would get a vehicle within the next five years if they were 100,000!!) and 2: They're not permanent! Would you be willing to fork out 100K credits every week or two? I sure as hell wouldn't.

They are permanent if you wish to spend 4 credits per 1 point to repair the decay on them. An X34 with 2.7k ham would cost 10,800 credits to completely repair it from 0 ham.

<customer perspective>

Vehicles should cost less becauseI have to constantlymaintain them over time (or let them degrade and buy a new one). I took my swoop bike to the garage when it was at 80% and it cost me 2000cr to repair.

Once the market saturates (which it will probably by today), prices will begin to stabilize. btw our guild master arty made millions of credsin just a few hours by selling them for a very reasonable price: 50k.

I saw people selling all vehicles for 10K.

What the *edit* were you thinking? That doesn't even cover cost. I am going to wait until these fools go out of business because they ran out of resources and then I'll step in with my 2K+ HAm vehicles and start making money.

I was looking forward to patch day, after last night I am depressed and mad.

Once they decided on Master Artisan as the vehicle makers, many people threw out a few harvesters on crap ferrous and non-ferrous, and macro'd up to MA just in order to stand at the starports and try to price gouge.

These people have no clue on the economic considerations of the SWG marketplace. So, when several of them started spamming, they didn't have the knowledge to consider the problem long-term. Instead, they would just respond to a "Selling SWOOP for 40K!!" spam, with another one offering them at 38K. And so on, until swoops were going for 25K at the Theed spaceport on my server. All they had to do was just wait until the first moron sold all 4 of the vehicles he had the resources for, but they just didn't have the patience.

These dumbasses aren't dedicated artisans, they're just out for a quick buck. Soon, they'll be outta resources, and will go back to farming holocrons and spamming "Selling holo, 3 Million OBO". Once that happens, vehicles will be a steady market, and a profitable one. I would expect them to settle in at 5 to 10 cpu, depending on the server.

Yeah, we didn't have a chance to cash in on patch day. No biggie...neither did the idiot dabblers.

SOE had to get SOME kind of vehicle patch out before Christmas in order to try and grab that market. This is just another result of their timetable being controlled by the marketing people. Vehicles should be highly complex mechanisms that require an Elite master to make. But that's already been hashed to death.

I am on Intrepid..prices were incredible low. In theed ppl were selling landspeeders for 10k geez. What most ppl cant seem to get thro their heads is you can forget the bother and put on bazaar the resources and make a lot more . I had mine priced at 5cr/unit. Didnt sell a one cause would not budge under that. I would rather use them as time goes on myself. I look at it this way..the ones selling below 3cr/unit will soon be out of resources lol. Not worth it to me. I have better things to do with my time and resources ( like grinding higher on armoursmith). MA have always cut their own throats on my server so was no big surprise. I quit bothering with droid batteries..repair kits etc because some decided was better to sell at below costs..not me.

Ppl keep saying amt resources doesnt equal cost..my costs were 40k..37k..35k for my vehicles. The huge amt of one kind of ferrous is why it costs to make. Had it been divided where i could of used say 2k this steel..2k of two other kinds ..would of been different story. My PA were all wanting one..had told them bring me steel ( had plenty of non ferrous) and I would make them one for free. They whined about having to buy steel ..go figure lol. Totally disgusted with average mentality but then again knew it would happen. So for me..I make me and my honey free rides and work on armoursmith. Rest of MA's on intrepid can live withthe prices they have now set...as your customers will hate you for going up later in price instead of down doh.

I just wanted to add thatall the retarded artisans undercutting/screwing each othermade me laugh.

I didn't even bother trying to compete with those rediculous prices, that is just absurd, my time is worth more than that. I just yelled my little advertisement that I had a LAG free fully stocked vehicle vendor just outside of Theed and went on my merry wayand flew around the country side enjoying myself on my new vehicle.

My vendor actually sold out and I had in my opinion very fair prices that reflected my time and quality of workmanship.

Look at it this way, on average, you can buy resources on the market for 3cr per unit, so if you sell you vehicles for anything lessyou are screwing yourself, you areundercutting anddemeaning your self worth as well as the value of your time. Why don't you just sell resources instead? It would take less time and work and you can make the same amount of credits.

It makes no sense what-so-ever.

I also have a creature handler on a seperate account, I found itinteresting that creature handlers actually worked together when mounts were releasedandmade some money. They sold mounts at fairly high first day prices as supply demanded. Whereas many crazy artisans were just out to get each other and try to prove their own ignorance. heh

I hear the people saying they will just sit on there vehicles until the treehuggers give up the quest lol I think thats where im at. I was sad to hear that people were selling for 2cpu and below and was debating on plugging some very good SR steel into vehicles almost 100k of it when I got a tell for an offer to buy the whole lot for 1million.

It took me awhile to decide, hhmmm lets seego into the parking lot hell and try and compete with the people selling for 2cpu and below and make a whopping 180k in a hour, or sell the whole lump some of great steel for 1 million credits in 5 minutes, no crit fails, no complaints.

The answer for people selling vehicles for 2cpu and below and couldnt figure it out: I sold the metal.

Im hoping in the next few days or so things will get better.

Right now, I'm selling my vehicles at 5cr/resource. I have no choice, because right now both Supply and Demand are very high. In a few days, my prices will start going up. In a few weeks, they will cost double what they cost right now (maybe more).

That said, I've still made tons of credits on vehicles, more than recovering my investment in new high-BER harvesters (and all the maintenance that goes with them).

You can't really judge the market or what the "proper" price should be, because right now the market is all screwed up (with vehicles being brand new and all).

My rate for MA parts and droids/parts is complexity * resource count which is what I hoped to do with these as well. This would put the prices as follows:

x34 Land Speeder__ 25 * 4,250 = 106,250

Speed Bike __ 20 * 6,000 = 120,000

Swoop Bike __ 20 * 8,000 = 160,000

I use the tier at which the item becomes available as a modifier for my prices. (e.g., Novice Artisan = Tier 0, Master Artisan = Tier 5, Novice Droid Engineer = Tier 6, Master Droid Engineer = Tier 11.) I add around 5% for each Tier (e.g., a Master Artisan item would get its price boosted by 25% above resource costs). (I'm thinking of boosting that to 10% per tier.)

LOL.

I love this, people that cant run their business are screaming at people that can. Business is competitive, get used to it. If you cant compete, then get out of the market.
