ok.. let me point to one thing...

maybe you don't remember a time when construction & looting AV21vehicle was a pain... ok and you finaly had one or bought one for 3mil ? great you are lucky owner !!YAY

but, ooops.. sh!t someone blast my av21 !, i lost exclusive vehicle, i lost 3mil, no way how to get it back....

and now tell me something again that 150k it's too much money to repair it ? dear god, not, vehicleres.kits are awesome addition to this game

and to barc...

to all players who bought swg-ex recieved undecayed undestroyable item... well don't you think that this is something what is... destroying player economy ?

how all of those peoplewho are selling swoops for 20k can sell one of theyr produc when you can still again and again repair your barc with no cost ?

look on it, face it, BARC & AV21 are verry VALUABLE and SPECIAL vehicles, so also price for them is HIGH

and solution... ifyou don't have money (from time to time like me) there is no problem... just go, find a vendor, buy swoopCrate with 10bikes for 200k and you are fine, no worries... they are cheep, maybe a little slower, but... i don't see any problem

i think those vehicle kits was verry good idea, look on it from a bigger angel of view (not just that you need to pay 200k for res.kit)

Make them one by one....

This has been a known bug for couple of days maybe week now. I would advise you to craft 1 by 1 till it's fixed.

The VRK's purpose is to restore the non-craftable rare vehicles. When you buy an AV-21 at 3 mill and a BARC at 2 mill, is 200k for a full repair unreasonable? I don't think so, but don't take my word for it. Let's look at my data. I mined for a while and run an experiment. I made 3 kits and placed on a vendor for 50k. The kits left ... no ... evaporated within minutes. I placed the next 3 on my vendor for 100k. All 3 were bought in ... 7 minutes! Now I have placed the last 3 for 150k. For the record, the cheapest price for them as of last night was 250k.

Pricing is driven not by the crafter but by the customer. Unreasonable pricing holds the customer from buying. If I am not selling the kits I will drop the price until they sell again. This is how the market corrects itself. If the prices drop below what I considered cost, then I pull the items and keep them for myself. Eventually the demand will go back up and here we go again.

Just my 2 credits ... !

I think Skurr shpuld get himself up in space, and also needs te become a master artisan. Mine the resources yourself, craft your own VRK's and find out why they are expansive.
Crafters invest huge amounts of money to improve their products, and also pay huge amounts of money for their resources if they don't have time to mine their own.
So it's obvious they wont sell products at a negative rate, to end up losing money.

I have to agree that the Vehicle Restoration Kits need to be re-examined.

To begin with, the average price of one -if you can even find one on my server- is not 200k, it's 500k. You're never going to see one for 200k.

Since I'm a Master Artisian you might think that this would not concern me, but I can't find the needed resources on vendors at any price.

I'm a tier 2 Rebel Pilot so the only ship available for me is a Y-Wing and I do not believe you can equip this ship with a mining lazer.

I'm not saying the resources should be cheep or that the kits should be cheep, but the resources needed to make the kits are just to hard to get at the moment.

I believe this problem would work itself out if all pilots had the ability to mine.

Where do I start the mission?

The cantina level of the tree in kachirho on kashyyyk. To use mining equipment you must have the RoTW expansion. You want to speak to an NPC named Flash Harrison. I believe the level is either the first or second level of the big tree.

hrm... next time, don't delete the original ticket.

send an email to [email protected] and include the ticket number (include the new one in your case unless you kept the old one), explain what happened, and (politely) for the issue to be reviewed. it might not work, but it's worth a try.

All Pilots have the ability to mine, just ask someone who did the quest (everyone can do it, only you have to fight tier 4 opponents) for a mining laser.

And you can always look for people who do space mining. I also play on Eclipse and I know several people who do space mining. I'm considering joining a company as well.
The space resource price on Eclipse is very high though, so that makes VKR's expansive on our server.
But when pub 24 comes, I'm pretty sure everything will get back to a more normal pricing level, because mining should be more easy then.

So imho the VKR is perfect now. It's for people who have a lot of money and can afford an expansive vehicle.

Well,

I personally never buy these kits. Like many if I need one I just mine enough ore to make one and use a Swoop instead of a Barc for the couple of Days (game sessions) it takes to mine the ore.

The source of the problem here is the fact that Space mining is designed for the Pilots and not the Crafters. Its a Shooting fest, not a gathering activity.

Then on the other hand I think I played this game long enough to understand the root ideas of the devs "sometimes"... And in this case, they just wanted pilots to be participating in the economy as is their aim for all the professions, like establishing economical two way links between Smugglers and Bounty Hunters.

Unfortunently, the pilot population, is a fraction of the population (And I am not talking about all the people using their ships just to go around and never actually raising the pilot skill tree), but fromthese pilots, that have gone 3333+ a fraction of them would actually find it interesting shooting rocks in space rather than fighting other NPC Ships or Players.

Who is the loser in all that? Well the Crafter, that is not very interested in shooting ships but would love gathering Space ore. But they already have a big part in the economy and a Ton of things to do, and so Space Mining remains for those that also love Piloting.

And that is the reason the prices of the Repair Kits are so high too.

However, if you read about Pre-Publish 25, this is about to change a bit. Ore output in space is being doubled and Ore requirements for crafting are being halved.

Good, now maybe more pilots will find it in their hart to mine some aswell.

Up to now I only mined when i really needed, with this change I could prolly mine the same time with a bit more output to offer out there in the economy....I still think Space Mining should be changed all together, I still think it should not be a Shooting Fest, but I understand why (I think) it is the way it is.

In the mean time, dont pay 400k+ for such a repair kit, just use a Swoop for a few days that you can buy at 10-20k in your local Bazzar.

I agree. First time my BARC was blown to pieces I went to look for the repair kits, 200k was the cheapest i could find. I got lucky though...my barc self repaired at the garage. Right now its absurd, because you can buy a vehicle from bazaar for 20k or less. My guess is that repair kit mods your ride giving it new engine, new brakes, total interior make over etc.

Quite a few good points so far. I totally agree that mining is probably dull and that space resources are therefore rare = expensive. So no, I do not feel that the crafters are to be blamed here. At the same time, from a customers point of view, prices forVRKs around 250K are absurd. As several posters have pointed out, it is much more sensible to buy a swoop and throw it away if it gets disabled. So the current state benefits swoop dealers in two ways, for people will buy more swoops instead of running a risk of breaking their precious vehicles and will continue to buy new swoops insted of repairing disabled ones.

As a result, every player owning a TTE will own a BARC, but few will be able to drive them constantly. Again, I agree that it was a bad decision to introduce a new vehicle that was faster than everything else, indestructable but not readily available to older players. It hurt the economy and it hurt peoples feelings. So I applaud the idea to make them require a player crafted kit to repair, and I would not object if prices were around the cost of a whole new swoop = 20k.

But more than 10 times that much plain makes no sense at all. And apart from prices, its a real pain to get one in the first place. If indeed the amount gathered in space is doubled and requirements for kits are halved, prices should go down to a quarter - which remains to be seen. But 50-60k seems a bit much to me.

As for the BH-Smuggler interdependency, that was a fine example of a good idea fail miserably. Now the B´Hs complain about"crappy" loot while the Smugglers complain about dependency on BHs to pursue the trade.

In conclusion, I would suggest to replace the space component requirements with some more readily available. Its fine with me if I depend on a crafter to get a kit, but the crafter should be able to sell me one of these at a reasonable price.

Edit: @captenjonny:If prices for gasoline in the United States would ever reach European levels, there would be tears and riots all day. People in the European Communityare currently paying around 1,3 EUR / liter, which is less than 1/4 gallon, if I am not mistaken. But as it is, several Asian and European countries have agreed to sell their strategic oil reserves to prevent prices in the US from reaching European levels. So yes, I take offense at your remark.

last week someone was paying 70 cpu for roids on wanderhome. the same res are also used for some of the new shpwright stuff, that drives the price of the raw materials up quite a bit.
