I think the kits should be able to be used out in the field, away from a garage.

Restoration Kits are bugged, A tip for all Artisan that are going to make them is do it by hand and not in a factory, Should you use a factory you will only end up with half of the tools that u make.

Lets say you make 30, as you pull 1 from the crate to sell the number in the crate goes down to 28 yet you have only pulled 1 kit into your inventory.

Tip for players, restoration kits work best in NPC citys.

Do the kits vary in effectiveness?

I have made them, but not tried using any yet.

The kits have no stats at all. The kits will repair the vehicle to 100% from disabled. The comment about the kits working best in NPC citys is false. The kits will repair to 100% no matter where the kit was used.

OKAY who was the brainiac that came up with the Vehicle Restoration Kit idea. He needs to be turned into an NPC and allow us to shoot him over and over again.

When I purchased ROTW, as a gift, I was given a BARC speeder. Now I feel, in essence they are taking it away from me because it is too expensive and sometimes impossible to repair.

At this time there are no kits on the Vendors. If you are lucky to find one on the vendors, they are minimum 175K - 400K. The resources needed to make them are not available on the vendors. They are a space resource so someone has to be a master pilot to use a mining ship. Mining takes forever just to get enough to make one kit.

I spent hours looking for one of these kits and still haven't found one.

that's how they work. if you have one in your inv, the vehicle has a 'restore' option on the radial.

they are a pain. i used my main to go mine the resources for my crafter to make, and it was such a pain, it took me a week to do it all. after i got one hold load (1 blown barc, one blown av), i did not want to go mine another 1500 for quite a while.

Kinda a funny story, I mined some resources, enough to make 2 kits, with my shotty cargo hold, i had to fill it twice to make the 2 kits. As this took me quite a while and all i wanted it for was for my Barc and my Av21 which was disabled. I put the second one on my vendor at a price that was twice as high as any I had seen in the vendor search, thinking no one would be crazy enough to buy it at that price but i figured if someone did, oh well, ill just make myself more. Sure enough, an hour later I get an email "Vendor Sale Complete" I had to chuckle.

Hand crafting things can be a pain, especially if you need to make a bunch.

You can factory crate these kits, just remember when you want to get them out of the crate to first split the crate into singles.

So if you make ten you should split the crate into 10 crates of one, then retrieve them. It's a little faster/easier than hand crafting all of them.

At first I thought it was a bad idea for the devs to do the VRK especially when I found out how much each one was going to cost but this does a lot of things and some people have already mentioned it...

When the devs make a change its usually not to fix an "Instant" problem. The disconnect bewteen the players and the devs is that the devs are looking 3 - 6 months down the road. The changes they implement today are going to have an impact on the change they make in 3 months.

For us all we see is the immediate impact. "OMG I have to pay THAT much just to fix my BARC"

This looks like its designed to bolster up the Pilot profession more then anything. Now if people want thier BARCS fixed they have to go into space, go through the pilot tiers and get proficient, and mine the resources themselves then take the resources to a crafter to have a VRK made they may still charge you but its not going to be 200-500k. Maybe 10 percent of that cause all they got to do is craft it now.

You should not need to do it that often. If your vehicle is being destroyed by enemy NPC's all the time you need to start going on leave or stay away from dangerous areas. Only drive your BARC in areas you know are safe. All other times ride the swoop. Its exactly the same in speed as a BARC except when going uphills.

Don't take my advice and continue to pay a kings ransom for these damn things. Thing is if people are still going to pay 200k for a kit it doesn't matter if the devs reduce the time it takes to gather the resources or if they lower the resource amount they will still charge the same.

Thank you thank you I almost lost it when I tried to take them out. I invested in 30k resource deeds and no way to afford to loose half in such a stupid bug.

Customer support just said they are working on it and to check the forums.

Please note that Pub24 will double the amount of reasources harvested from asteriod mining, so with any luck, you will get twice as much asteriod material for the same price, eventaully.
