Thread: vendor question
This is a known issue affecting newly created vendors. It seems, to me at least, to be hitting the bulky machine (Bussiness III) vendors the hardest, or perhaps it's related to the character setting up the first vendor on his account. That's how I've noticed it, anyway. In any case, see the thread stuck to the top for the work around.
Business III of the Artisan profession will provide you with a coke machine style vendor. They are big and ugly but the best bet for someone not wanting to learn Novice Merchant. As you work on Novice Merchant, you will be granted the ability to place NPC vendors, droid vendors and other terminal style vendors. The more you train, the better the vendors get, up to Hiring IV which allows you to dress your vendors in any clothes in your possession, altho you cannot retreive them.
Other players can place vendors in your house, but they need to be adminned to place the vendor. You can remove the admin after and they can still run the vendor. When someone else places the vendor it is not controllable by you, but by the person who placed it. Plus, it takes away from the vendors they can use.
The best bet for crafters looking for a vendor is to go up to Business III in artisan and use the coke machine vendor. If you can spare the skill points, get as much of Merchant as possible for things like better vendors, planetary map advertising, decreased maintenance cost on all owned structures etc etc.
That's a Merchant career stuff. Check the Merchant skill tree I think is a Level IV ability of one of their skills.

It's Advertising 3 on the Merchant tree that allows it .... hope this helps
I was afraid of that, although in the skills menu it doesn't say that Advertising 1 - 3 do anything.
