I love it when people thibnk the prices will increase when demand decreases.

bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzt

Price are higest when there is limited supply and demand outstrips supply.

Prices are lowest when demand is low and a lot of people can supply.

Oh guys I have a piece to add for the "scared lowballers"

If you are worried about a higher priced vendor trying to "corner the market" and then selling off from you you can just BAN them from entering the building where your vendor is located... (sneaky I know but a minor investigation (reading your email) will let you know who keeps buying all your stock to resell it)

THEN all you highballers will be screwed and have not only to make your own stuff but you would really have a rough time selling it higher when there is a real stock that is set at a lower price...

HEHE that is what I had to do once to keep a guy from doing it... He cried grief for at least a week along with threatening emails about how noone would buy my stuff... well I am still selling all my spices for 100credits per level (Muon is 5 and 500 per for example) and after two months I am still in business... (he sold for twice as much: Muon at 1000)

Stymuns, not all my comment are directed specifically at you, many people are posting here. I expect the vheicles market to dry up very quickly also, which is why I am not afraid to compete for sales now. it is certainly not the only product I sell, I am just taking advantage of the market as it is now.

Ok, now that makes sense. This is just a hit for the quick buck. Nothing wrong with it, if you've got other things going on. More power to you.

Again, I guess I wasn't addressing specifically you but the people that think they'll be able to make a living at the 2-3cr thing. Won't happen.

Me, I haven't sold any publicly yet. I'm expecting that the market will bottom out, and most people will drop out. I guess I should look at it in the terms that those that stick to it will eventually profit, and let the masses do their thing. The demand will go down but so will the supply, and things will eventually balance out.

I have to admit, the lag on Coronet is getting pretty horrible though, and if everyone was selling for 100k it wouldn't be half so bad

I think we can agree to disagree on this. I do see why you are doing what you are, I just won't join in. My choice. I'll sell for a fair price and if people aren't willing to pay it, I won't have used the resources.

This has been getting harsher than it's needed to be. I apologize for any personal digs.

The only reason you're doing this with vehicles is because it is a hot item. If it weren't, this wouldn't be so profitable in the long run. You're essentially a currently-successful day trader, mocking us because you're making your money now but don't care that things will dry up soon.

Ide hate to break it to you but the people who are selling for sub 5 cpu now and that plan on staying in the vehicle business will be the people successful in the long run. Not the other way around.

Oh and one other thing...

What are your percieved "fair prices" for vehicles

ME?

Swoop speeder 50K (45K if Critical failure and 55K for Amazing success on experiment)

Speeder Bike 40K (35K if Critical failure and 45K for Amazing success on experiment)

X34 Landspeeder 30K (25K Critical failure and 35K for Amazing success on experiment)

and the reason for the difference is simple the vehicle works exactly the same but simply burns out faster...

Please tell us everyone what are the "fair prices" for you...

Just a note to Dayln and others who sell low.

I've had my own RL business for a lotof years now. Not gonna say how many beyond it is more then a lot of you are in age.

The thing to remember is this; People buy things from one vendor vs. another for a lot of reasons. Price, convenience, impulse, trust, familiarity etc.

What I have found is that people that buy from you for the reasons other then price are far more likely tobe repeat customers. Those that buy on price alone will always do so, and when a guy down the street offers alower price, they will go to him.

So the 'relationship' customers will generally come back as long as they feel they are getting a 'fair' deal, low prices or no. The difference is the profit you make.

Now I understand this is a game and perhaps 'profit' makes no difference to you. But even in this context when you have maintenance to pay on your houses, factories, harvestors, and now vehicles. And you have things you want to purchase for your characters to advance them, dress or equip them better, or perhaps just travel without worrying about the cost, then your profit becomes more important. Maybe you could give your combat buddy that Krayt Gun he wants but will never be able to afford.

Bottom line is this: More credits can make the game more fun. Do they look better in your bank account or in the bank account of the guy riding away on one of your speeders?

Yes ther will always be a market for VSpeeders, however it will never have the demand it had in the first few days. Demand will indeed decrease, while potential supply will not.

I was selling speeders for 15K, bikes for 20K and swoops for 25K. They were all experimented to betweeen 75% and 95%. I had some crit fails that I sold for 5K to the people who wanted a bike but didn't have much money.

I made a million credits in two hours after the servers were up. With a material cost of less than 100K (I use mostly 9-10 BER mediums) I'd say I made a fine business move. The people who were chargingtwice as much10 feet from me weren't selling as many, and by the time I left demand was down because I had just sold 50 vehicles.

I'm proud to say that I equipped most of Anchorhead.

I already have a speeder, but I try to provide all my customers with a product that is around 20% less than they expected to pay. This is howI gain long term customers.

hey dalyn, demand will not decrease for vehicles its not house, vehicles have durability so there is always market for vehicles and with many lowballers out of market prices will increase eventually.
