Thread: Vehicle Customization: Should it be for Master Artisans to perform or for anyone and everyone?

I can see wanting #1 to keep a few artisans from dominating, but if you're going to do #1, then make sure the paint lasts long enough that customers and artisans don't get sick of seeing each other.

I'm a Master Artisan myself and I'd like to craft paint tools. But I don't want to be bothered by hundreds of people wanting me to paint their vehicle. I craft the painting tool, I sell the painting tool, they use it.

Put me down as a Master Artisan who doesn't want to be a painting contractor. I make stuff people buy it and use it. I like it that way. I think anyone should be able to use their paint kit. It should last a reasonable amount of time ( a week or so at least) and that coupled with the high number of vehicles that get destroyed anyways should keep the market viable.

I refuse to become like those doctors in Coronet who repeatly shout "buffs 6k!" and have lines of 10+ people wanting service.I have better things to do in game than sit around all the time. Besides, who's gonna sit in line and wait 5 minutes to get their 3 vehicles painted?

You wanted artisans to be more worthwhile, well.. we are. Vehicles were a big help. A painting tollkit would be too, but if you make us do the painting, you're only hampering our play time. Most Master Artisans are other crafting professions, too. How are we supposed to craft other goods if we're to busy painting speeders?

Ooh, ooh, I've got a possible solution, and this may take a little more development time, but I think it's a good idea. To cut down on the headache of reapplying paint after it wears off (and I don't know if this is the way it is already), add an option to just 'touch-up' the paint. It still requires a master artisan, and it still requires the same customization kit, but it restores the same paint as before so the customer doesn't have to try to describe what colors he wants. To simplify this for the programmers and servers, so the bike doesn't have to remember it's old colors after they wear off, it could be done so that it only works if the bike is still under the old customization;it just resets the customization timer.

I already posted in the "In Testing" thread, but #2.

While you're at it, fix the DE customization kits so that they work the same way.

Most MAs are doing another crafting profession as well and have better things to do than sit around playing image designer on vehicles and having people yell at them because they can't get the precise shade of brown that the customer wants. Let people pick their own colors.

Also I expect vehicle coloring to be just as buggy as droid coloring where it comes out random colors or loses its color, and the MAs will go mad if they have to repaint every customer's vehicle three times a day.

I'm a Master Artisan as well and I have zero interest in coloring vehicles for people all day long.

Put me down for option 2 as well.

You can make it permanent if you want too.

Except, Vayde_Aren, I and many others would have no interest in constantly seeking out a Master Artisan. You'd make less money due to a significantly lower demand than if you were selling the kits.

I'm not a Master Artisan, so my vote for #2 may not be important.

Against Master Artisan only on the application. There's no need to make having your vehicle turned red so tedious.

If you want to make it so I dont just put out 100 crates, then simply make the kits color specific (Cutomization Kit: Black with Red Highlights).

That way, there's a reason to seek out an artisan to get my specific color set, but I don't need him every 2 days to repaint it.
