Who are you to say who is having fun or not? This is not about smart selling. This is about taking advantage of other players due to demand. I myself cant justify selling something for a ridiculous high price. I weighed out the need vs the material/maintenance. I make a really good proffit without screwing people over. And for those of you who thinks this will screw up the economy, how so? I must have heard that phrase at least 50 times since this game has come out. It has yet to have happen. That is what is so great about a player driven economy. The economy will always level off to meet the needs of the player.

I was up until 2am prepping for today. I could hardly stay awake at work this morning. I logged in at about 10 and crafted my butt off (yeah, I get opportunities to play a little at work). I had 30 vehicles of various quality (anything between 93% and 40%) in my inventory. I was planning on busting 2 million by selling at 100k, 125k, 150k on opening day. When I saw people shouting 25k - 40k...my jaw dropped...guess I'll just skip the quest to obtain a holo by buying and grind each profession with my only 3 hours per night to play. I'll unlock that FS slot about the time our sun goes supernova.

hehe.. funny thing is I was just coming here to say the same thing.. sad thing most of the people that are undercutting just mastered in the last few days to just do that undercut.. yeah i am for not screwing over custumers. but on my server.. I was one of the only to have a stockpile of the highest SR combo possible..(which saddly doesnt do all that much.. ) because of the lame asses at all the shuttleports i could not sell mine for more than 5 cpu.. even though closest HAM to mine is 200 points away.. and this is where it really gets messed up.. first costomer.. who buys my 99 % qual swoopbike offers me 10 CPU just for the resources... hmmm... shouldnt a fair price be more than what the resources alone would sell for ???

One more time...

If you are charging 25cpu for something that cost .28cpu to make, you are the idiot. Go ahead and charge 150k a vehicle. I mined all of my resources personally, and with harvester costs and power costs that is exactly how much my cpu was....a little more than 1/4 credit per unit.

My vehicles were sold for the same price they will be sold for tomorrow, and next week, and next month. I'm glad you couldn't price gouge, because its jackasses like you folks that are making the economy way to unstable. I made repeat customers, which means I will sell them more than just the one vehicle, so I can look forward to making money continuously, instead of a flash-in-the-pan million credits then next month I'm running missions to pay for my harvesters again....

You people make me sick.

wow somebody needs a timeout

anyhow the devs ahve givin us a crap item to produce would u buy a 100,000 dollar vehicle if it needed a new transmission every 3 days?? nope me either but thats exactly what we have here we as artisans are pressed to charge high prices to get a profit off the high resource demand, We as customers are faced with a high cost short lived product they wil tend ot gravitate towards the cheaper end sellers. Simple economics you can only charge a high price in a area where your clintel can afford this high price and/or are otherwise unable to find better prices (hint) u can make money buy selling them for around 20k u just have to make more (work harder) to do it! LOOK at WAL-MART Low prices everyday WHY?? THEY BUY IN BULK!!!! if u sell one speeder at 100k in ten minutes all i have to do is is sell 5 at 20k (i can do that in less than a minute oh ive been a master Artisan now fer about 3 months and master weaponsmith fer about a month SHOULDA been hoardin matirels fer weeks I HAVE pumped out yer bikes and turned a profit i made over a million credits in under an hour today sellin at 20k a pop WHY beacause i didnt limit my client bas buy charging extreme prices i figured out what i would need to turn a profit based on resources sold and charged as low and reasonable a price as possible. I have a much Broader selection of clientel and therefore able to move my product in a frutiful and profitable manner HOW DO YOU LIKE DEM APPLES TEACHA!

On a side note AGAIn the decay rate vs resource cost is retarded and needs a rewerkin

Crafting is a habbit, not a profession. That's the way the devs designed it.

Why would anyMaster Artisanneed to sell their wares for a decent profit, if whenthey need money all theyhave to do is run missions for a bit. Survey and crafting missions is how Artisans survive. Sellingthe occasional thingjust passes the time, and justifies being an Artisan.

I think this is dumb. But it's true. Master Artisans don'tneed to live off of what they sell, so why would they be motivated to price things so that they could.

And of course, there are so many Master Artisans, and resourcesare so easy to come by, that the supply of vehicles was drastically more than the demand. Getting a fair and reasonable price was impossible. We were over-prepared and the free market economy bit us in the rear.

Oh well.

When a master elite combat class can make 25k/hour without sweating, I don't see how a speederbike is only worth 20k. Some people are so desperately attached to the price of resources relating to the price of what they craft. Theydon't seem to see the forrest for the trees.

Just think of all the fun we could have had if crafting not only paid for itself, but for our adventuring habbit too. Oh well, what can you do?

easy janto a master elite has to continully werk fer his 25k if you are a smart artisan u set ALL yer harvs up on a 3 day cycle put enough power and maintince in fer 3 days get yer resources sit back factory out yer bikes (while that going on werk on yer next profession or get some POI badges order pizza take a nap wut ever... get yer bikes put them on vendor (OCC Choppers on sunrunner Virtuis Civitus naboo)sell em fer 20 sell 50 bikes in under an hour and u made a cool mil easy as pie yer harv and factories did all the werk and u got to do varied and dynamic gameplay in between. Now the real reason u moan and whine is cuz you want the path of least resistance (we all do) and You thought hey vehicles COOL ill make 10 sell em make a mil wrong answer you shoulda reaserched and saw HIGH RESOURCE COST HIGH DECAY RATE !! the devs have been dropping hints as to how to approach vehicles BUT no ALL you want is a quick buck. Now I agree the resource cost is WAAAAY to high vs decay rate but a tweak of either wil fix this and high prices will be in order but maybe the devs saw this (news flash they not as stupid as we post they are) and said hey how can we make it so theycant be over produced and not be so high priced that nobody but a select few can have em? The answer is the schematic we got high resource and high decay. Oh and pricey garage in the end the devs took the path of least resistance leaving us the player looking for the solution (but thats what a game is) solution finding so ahve fun all!

VEHICLES ARE DISPOSSABLE SO WHY WOULD ANYONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND SPEND 100K ON A THROWAWAY ITEM.

The cost to maintain a vehicle will outstrip the price of riding it until it falls apart and buying a new one for 25K-40K

Plus, consider that many can grind out a MA in a week or less. If it was an item made by an ELITE profession and required much more in the way of resources and actual work (like haveing to make 4 or 5 components of various resources) then I might see paying a higher price.

My speeder bike has only 2800 health. It will lose that pretty fast and if I try to keep repairing it, the repair costs will be much more than buying a new one every month or so. I have already seen bikes smoking or in flames and they just came out!!

Again, why pay 100K for an item you are going to throw out in two weeks to a month anyway.

I totally understand paying 250K on a set of Composite Armor, because it will last a long time and requires alot of work and materials on the part of an Elite proffesion, the Armorsmith. And those sets of armor are of the highest quality.

But that much for a vehicle? you guys are kidding, right??

airon, thanks for replying to my post. It was very sweet of you, and I feel touched. But maybe you should have read it first. You don't seem to have actually understood what I was saying.

I was selling vehicles in theed till the bottom fell out of the market. Then I just stopped making them. I'll make them later when the price picks up again and the price wars subside a bit.

Too bad. I was set to make a killing today.
