I'd be just pleased as hell if I could get someone to supply me with meat and hides and so forth in mass quantities. We're not just talking the small stacks on the bazaar - I'm talking quantities like 10,000 units of meat in a stack, and things like that. It's a pain in the neck to run schematics if you don't have just huge piles of identical hides, and I don't have the storage space to spare on keeping around scraps...

Ask the armorsmiths, they need some special items for the RIF armor. and they are only loot drops from tough critters. but animal loot drops will be a great thing for some of the elite crafters. Chefs need meat, hide and bone, armorsmiths need hide, bone and loot drops, weaponsmiths need loot drops, not sure about the others, but plain artisans will use hide, bone, and meat.

and protection is a big thing. we would love to see fighters clearing out warrens in and around fields of harvesters.

I was looking into the idea of making crates of the small camps, to sell at about 100 credits per camp in a factory crate of 25 camps. This would be a "spare tire" for when you are out in the wild and your vehicle disappears, or you need to switch between vehicle/pet. However, when I looked on the bazaar I couldn't find any sort of system to the prices of hides and bones, and never find any large quantities.

The problem is, that for running anything through a factory, it is most cost-effective to do a 1000-item run (maximum allowed). A small camp uses 10 hide and 5 bone. That is 10,010 hide and 5,005 bone (need to use 10 hide and 5 bone to make the schematic originally), but it needs to all be the same hide and same bone, one container of each. Plus, in order for it to be cost-effective to put it through the factory, I need to be able to buy these quantities at fairly low credits/unit, like maybe 2 credits/unit. I would then be paying 30000 credits total for that quantity of hide and bone. I run it through my factory (which I pay maintenance on, and put power into), and turn those hides and bone into 1000 camps, which I turn around and sell for 100,000 credits.

Before you gripe about me making 70,000 credits on this, remember that I am paying maintenance on the factory, even when it is sitting idle, and paying for the power to do the run, and then running all over the galaxy putting these very reasonably priced camps out (which benefit primarily the combat classes) onto all of the bazaars, especially the ones where people go on hunting trips. Plus the bazaar takes 20 credits from every sale, so for a run of 1000 camps, packaged in crates of 25 camps (making 40 crates), that is an additional 800 credits drained from the profit.

There is an additional problem. I need these resources to be coming in very consistently, so that I can plan my factory runs, as well as the restocking runs out to the remote bazaars.

Don't let the negative AFKophobes get you down. Play the game however you want.

Is the beta testing almost over for this game?

Your factory crate idea will be fine for non-scouts, as scouts perfer to make their own and place them themsleves for the survival XP...Oh wait, only scouts can place camps... <grin>

I've done some short runs with my equipment factory for my partner who's a CH/Ranger who no longer cares about survival XP. I put some up on a vendor. They didn't sell very well..

These are all excellent ideas and I'm liking it. I think this will be very helpful trying to find markets for everyone. Are there specific rare loot drops people need? If any of you are in guilds, or large groups by the way and want to discuss security details then please by all means contact James-T our mayor and big SCUM in game, and we'll see what can be worked out.

Maybe soom actuall support in faction v faction combat. I hate it when imps raid AH(I am reb) and I am a DE so I really can't do much but all the combat classes are sitting in the cantina to scared to attack when they are master sharpshooters, commandos, etc... its just not right having your city raided and the "militia" not doing anything. Offer money for combat would be an incentive.

Combat monkeys need crafters. What this poll is about is what can combat monkeys DO for crafters? Smugglers, pistoleers, commandos, TKA's, whatever. We need your products, we need your resources, what can we do for you?

So sound off, crafters. We get a lot of the content and it bugs you I know, so here's your chance, what can we do for you? Help me, help you.

Incidentally, any of you crafters, resource gatherers, or whatever lookin' for a home on Intrepid, the guild of Smugglers, Crafters, and Underground Mercenaries has a city in the Agrilat Swamps, and we're always lookin' fer more citizens to share in the wealth. If interested, please send an email in game to Dayasi or James-T. Crafting Guild on Intrepid? No problem. SCUM can work with you. We want YOU in SCUM city.

As an armorsmith, I need two things from people who can kill things:

Wooly Hide
Leathery Hide

Sometimes other kinds of hide, but those two are the big ones, wooly being the A-numero-uno hardest thing for me to get. For good armor, the stats have to be just so, and about 90% of the time, the only thing on the server that has it is Tortons or Bantha or Mamiens or something equally difficult for me to hunt.

I'm a Master Artisan, Master Armorsmith and Master Merchant. I have exactly one block in Marksman- Novice.

These days, though *cough* holocrons *cough*, it's impossible to find hunters. I've offered 10 cpu or more for quality wooly hide and gotten absolutely no response. Zilch. Nada. Ended up having to try to kill langlatches and banthas by myself, or with a friend who had many other things to do. You can guess how that ended up- the sky sure is pretty in SWG, I should mention. I've spent a lot of time looking at it.

So for me- I want hide. Lots of it. And I'll pay for it. But no one wants to do that, they just want to kill and get XP to grind their next holoprofession.

I hired myself a bodyguard (a ranger/marksman). He supplies me with protection when surveying in remote places and also supplies me with hide, bones, and meat. In return, I supply him with weapon power-ups, food, and any inorganic materials he needs for his traps.

Hides wooly and leathery, awesome. We can arrange that.

Ok, all good stuff so far, and I'm intrigued by the security detail possibillities. Now, obviously permanent 24/7 protection is going to be nigh on impossible, so my questions are:

a) first of all, how often and for how long would you require these services? We wouldn't mind if it was for a whole day, it's like a hunting trip then, but real life happens and some of us may have to bail early or something. (i'm trying to work out logistics here).

b) how would you like to pay for such services? an hourly rate? by the critter? flat rate? how much? would bartering be more preferrable? would a mix of money and resources as payment be acceptable?
