Thread: Combat and Crafting- A Poll Looking to Unify.
Combat monkeys need crafters. What this poll is about is what can combat monkeys DO for crafters? Smugglers, pistoleers, commandos, TKA's, whatever. We need your products, we need your resources, what can we do for you?
So sound off, crafters. We get a lot of the content and it bugs you I know, so here's your chance, what can we do for you? Help me, help you.
Incidentally, any of you crafters, resource gatherers, or whatever lookin' for a home on Intrepid, the guild of Smugglers, Crafters, and Underground Mercenaries has a city in the Agrilat Swamps, and we're always lookin' fer more citizens to share in the wealth. C'mon artisans, there's NOTHING we can do for you? I need IDEAS here people! Bridge the gap! Help me, help you. Show me the money, you had me at hell no. Come on.
In addition to the reds that always spawn anywhere there is a high concentration of harvesters - which gets tired quickly (and eats up a lot of skill points just to have maskscent), us weaponsmiths like krayt tissues (other x-smiths have their things too). I personally can't believe the prices that have been offered to me if I were to make the gun AND supply the tissue. I really don't think they're worthTHAT much.
In anycase, I'd like the tissues, but I can't get them myself. Marksman 3-3-4-3 just can't solo a krayt.
What I consider is fair, I lead an "expedition" with a buch of combat types (and some medics) to get some tissues. I keep half of the tissues for myself, and I make a gun with a krayt tissue for each member of the hunting party (no commando weapons though). Everyone gets a gun that's worth a fair bit (you can sell it or keep it), and I get some tissues which are also worth a fair bit.
It seems fair to me anyway.
I've tried to get my guild involved, but they're all powergamers with crates of pre-nerf FWG5s made with krayt tissues. They're not really interested.
Does anyone else think this is fair? Or am I nuts?
Well I lived in a city and the combat peeps seemed intent on killing opposing faction member customers. My solution was to leave their city and move to a little community outside Theed. I also switched from imperial to neutral. Inowno longer live in acity per se, but who cares when I am a gallops distance from the theed bazaar, starport, cloning center, etc.
Repeatedly I tried to tell these combat peeps that we all should work together, as the economy makes the war possible. We crafters make the weapons, the armor, the cool clothes that make you look tough. But I got treated like a second class citizen and basically was made to feel like I didn't matter.
Well, let me think...
I am part of MAW Industries(miners and warriors) and we seem to have a good thing going. As far as combat types go I like the seurity and sweep services.
I hate getting close to that site to lay my harvs and then a group iof 1hit kill aggroes are there and I cannot kill the lair to drop harvs...
We have a member of the guild now who has that issue a lot on Talus and we regularly go to clear the way for her (entertainer artisan) so as far as unification may pay for services or major discount on goods to the security forces of a mining mission...
And here's one for thought.. Safaris
Think about it offer safaris to artisans and noncombatants to get those lucrative resourses...Endor anyone...and this would be VERY regular business for the combat types and a sort of player developed content...mercenaries anyone... some of the best stuff is on the adventure planets but a noncombatant wouldn't set 4 feet out of an outpost and get waxed/owned by the native wildlife...

The worst for me (major miner) is finding a flat spot perfect for setting up two or three meduim harvesters on 85% high quality ore. but can't place them because there is a hurrton warren nearby.
i can't even take one hurrton.
i could realy use a hunter areound to clear out the riffraf
