Survey Artisan Missions are like free money what's the problem? I love them!

Find 2 shuttle ports that have any type of resource with a concentration above 70%. (no survey mission asks for more than 70%). Then just grab two missions that pay 900cr for that resource and just shuttle hop there a and back picking up 2 missions at theshuttle port, do this as many times as you can before the shuttle leaves.

If you're quick you can run 3 sets of missions (900cr x 2missions x 3 trips -375cr for tickets = 5024cr per 10 min).

How do artisan mission suck if you can make 5024cr every 10 min? If the shuttle wait time ever drops you could make even more credits. And if you're really quick about it you can sometimes get 4 trips done before you have to wait for a shuttle again. You only need survey lvl 1 to do this, so it's not like it requires lots of skill. The amount of work and running you have to do is super short if you find a shuttle port that has a artisan mission terminal near it.

For reasons unknown, the payout of the artisan missions depends on your skill with your equipped weapon. You have to have at least a 4th level skill in marksman or brawler, and have that weapon readied when you open or refresh the mission terminal.

So if you have pistols IV, you'll see the better missions if you have a pistol in hand than if you're unarmed (assuming you don't have unarmed IV).

Stupid, but there you are.

Well I would assume that, if I weren't a master artisan...

I think the weapon skill suggestion may be right, but i'll have to check. I recently made it to rifle III and one-handed III, and saw those higher pay-out artisan missions for awhile. Then, however, I switched to pistol I and unarmed I (trying to climb the Slicer tree), and the higher pay-out missions vanished! Maybe I'll re-equip my gaffi stick to check it out.

Also depends on who you are grouped with.

Don't let the negative AFKophobes get you down. Play the game however you want.

Is the beta testing almost over for this game?

Like sciguyCO said, it's your skill with the EQUIPPED weapon when you access the terminal. That's all it is. I proved it to myself long ago. You can prove it to yourself as well.

Folks have made post after post noting the silliness of tying a crafting mission to weapon skills. Surprise, surprise, nothing changes . . .

Artisan crafting missions...

Missions from mos eisley to anchorhead are broke.

Npc's in anchorhead are not spawning at givin waypoints...or anywhere near the waypoints.

Sometimes they spawn within 25m of givin waypoints(unlike before where they where in the middle of the orange triangle), but most of the time(90% of the time)they dont spawn at all.

Been like this for almost 2 months now....and been sending /bug reports for the 2 months.

It all started when you patched the game to eliminate groups of 20 npc's spawning in 1 spot, i would rather have that than no npc's at all.

Ok, is it just me that this is happening to? or does no one really care that the artisan crafting missions are still brokegoing on2 months now?

I posted this here to get the issue noticed, and in 24 hours, not a one of ya has responded.

For some reason im not surprised anyone here cares let alone the devs

I don't think it's a matter of people not caring... of course we care because we've all run these missions before and understand their importance, especially to artisans who are just starting out. Personally, however, I haven't run one of these missions (let alone any mission) for quite some time now so I had nothing useful to contribute to your posting other than a "Hang in there."

So hang in there. We've all seen your post. More importantly, I'm sure Guruweaver has seen your post and has notified the proper individuals to get a resolution to this problem underway. Now all you can really do is hang in there and hope for an expedient solution.

Good luck!

It's happened to me also. I've ran the Bestine/Anchorhead crafting missions and found no npcs when arriving. Some have suggested that they wander off and try other npcs in the area....from my experiences this is partially right.

I ran these missions many times with about a 90% success rate. When I get tothe vacant wp...Ihave tried all npcs that show up white on the overhead map...and I'm positive they are not within several screens of said wp.

Thenjust the other night I believe I witnessed what *might* be the problem. I was coming back from Anchorhead to the quest npcs thatare on the cantina side of Bestine Starport. As I was approaching them I saw a jedi's saber ignite approx 10-20 m behind the npc's...seems a bh and a few otherswere attacking the jedi....or the jedi was just overt...that I'm not sure of.

It *appeared* that one of the pc's used an area attack and sent the npcs running....yeah...I know...white conned npcs shouldn't be vulnerable to attack. It may have just been coincidence...but both npc's (the quest npc and one right beside him took off for the hills...straight through the starport wall and were gone. And when I say gone...I mean I conversed with every white dot on that side of Bestine and even went outside of town a few hundred meters in that general direction.

Could be coincidence....but it's the only thing that I've seen that could even remotely be the possible cause.

Heh... I believe I know what the poster is talking about...I've ran too many of thesemissions not to. I've mastered artisian three times...starting the same way (running these crafting missions)....and the last time being within thepast few weeks. I will agree that the first time I've ever noticed this was this last time I masterd it though.

I've pvp'd and pvm'd around these same npc's countless times...and the've never moved. Some npc's do react...but not the static artisian quest npcs...at least since I started playing.

/shrug

I think either I may not have conveyed my thougths clearly enough...or you misunderstood.

If others agree with ya, I'll gladly admit I'm wrong....but I'll be very surprised.

I sent in bug reports about this and it's still not be fixed. Artisans rely on these crafting quests for cash and XP.

Please fix this for the good of the new players!
