How many lances do you see out there? Personal shields are just 3 items (mark 1, 2 and 3) from the AS tree, and they make enough money to buy them to be honest.

You are incorrect Ackis, personal shields require 6 subcomponents:
1. Power Conditioner - Master Artisan
2. Energy Distributor - Master Artisan
3. Deflector Shield Projector Plate
4. Deflector Shield Generator - Energy Ray
5. Deflector Shield Generator - Particle
6. Deflector Shield Emitter Assembly

Yes, but do items 3-6 need MA components? My post was that an Armorsmith has 3 final items that need MA parts. Earlier in the thread I think WS needed 4 MA parts, plus had 2 sub-components that may have needed MA parts (I'm not AS or WS). I'll list DE parts that directly need MA components.

  1. Adv. Droid Motive System (CU)

  2. Advanced Droid Brain (4 Identical EMM/4 Identical GP)

  3. Arakyd Probe Droid (EMM/GP)

  4. Power Droid (MSS)

  5. Advanced Power Droid (MSS)

  6. Geeky Personality Chip (3 EMM/2 GP)

  7. Level 3 Data Module (1 EMM)

  8. Level 4 Data Module (1 EMM)

  9. Level5 Data Module (1 GP/2 Identical EMM)

  10. Level 6 Data Module (1 GP/3 Identical EMM)

  11. Level 5 Medical Module (1 GP)

  12. Level 6 Medical Module (1 GP/3 Identical EMM)

  13. Level 5 Item Module (1 GP)

  14. Level 6 Item Module (1 GP/3 Identical EMM)

  15. Probot Advanced Chassis (1 MSS) - used to make Adv Probots

  16. Probot (1 MSS)

  17. Prissy Personality Chip (1 EMM/1 GP)

  18. Sarcastic Personality Chip (2 GP/1 EMM)

  19. Seeker Droid (2 GP/1 EMM)

  20. Stupid Personality Chip (1 EMM)

  21. Worshipful (2 GP/1 EMM)

  22. Droid Customization Kit (CU)

That's 22 items that REQUIRE MA components to make. If I were to extend this list to items that need these parts indirectly, I'd pretty much list everything I can make as a DE (take an R2 for example, it needs an Adv. Droid Brain, or an R3 which require two identical advanced droid brains). This list may also be missing some items.

The point of this was to really show the disparity among the classes who use MA components. DEs by far need to use them. So much so that I run off runs of 1k EMM and 1k GP almost weekly. Also, did you notice that MA doesn't really do anything for the domestic arts, surveying, or business aspects of the line? The electronics should be moved into DE, and more Artisan stuff should be put in the MA slot.

From my personal wishlist... In the bazaar, the field for the "premium" asterisk is WAY too big - it's only one character, for crying out loud! And the field for price (which will never be more than 4 characters) is twice as big as it needs to be, as well. So... you can hardly read the description of what you are trying to buy. Make the description field bigger, and shorten the premium field way down.

By the way, on TC, it appears that color can no longer be inserted into the names of crafted objects at creation time. So, if this stays in, no more color highlighting of your goods. The color codes CAN still be used on house and harvester names, and when you change the name of a backpack. I agree that premium sales should be on page one when you access the bazaar term.

Here's an easy help to the master artisan...

Move the armor and weapon upgrade kits to master artisan. They already use artisan experimentation. This would makeMA's much more useful. And while you're at it, make the kits have a functionality rating that is effected by experimentation.

Long before I became an Armorsmith or a Droid Engineer, I was a Master Artisan. I had that title displayed for a month and no one ever asked me for anything but training.

I tend to agree that most Masters of Elite crafting professions are also Master Artisans simply because of the needed components granted to Master Artisan.

Also remember that there are a number of Optional components that use those MA items.

Just two little snipits Id like to add

Armorsmith = Engineering 4 ? - Would make more sense to put it with the clothing line.(tho the title domestic arts doesnt fit great either, heh) But that line is gonna get heavy when vehicles and ships are added in the future

Survey 4 = bring back the miner profession , and "nerf" non-miners ability to gather rescources

(ok not really on the top of the lists, but wanted it atleast heard )

Move crafting stations to the MA level, electronic components to DE. Add some more cool items like the birdcage throughout all of artisan. Add skill mods for all elite crafting professions to the MA box (maybe +5 assembly or experimentation).

About the bazaar. You -never- see all of the results for items loaded in on planetwide or galaxy view, often you get the same items on multiple pages which can be quite annoying to say the least.

please can we also ge the /practice command fixed too. Idont want to grind for 10 minutes and then have to spend the next 10 minutes deleting them when using a good crafting macro, and my fingers are loosing their print after pushing return so much.

Let's see... (my opinions, as a on-and-off crafter)

- Waypoint sticking while surveying
- Clunky interface on survey equipment. Can't selection be made directly on the interface?
- Survey units never wear out. (Come on, they're not THAT expensive.)
- Odd distribution of basic brawler weapons (when all CDEF's are available immidiately). Is a CDEF really simpler to make than a wood staff?
- Wookie only clothing is poorly indicated. Put wookie-wear into it's own section?
- Add certs for harvesters? How about a penalty with harvesters, becoming 0% at Survey IV?
- Add a harvester bonus for master artisan?
- Require "parts" for medium and heavy harvesters. (This would give architects a market, and make repairing a harvester much more like repairing. There is great fun potential here.)
- Artisan experimentation does not carry over into the advanced crafts. (The Medic to Doctor system works far better).
- Can the system be made more twiddle-able? I wanted to be an artisan, with the idea that I could take something and improve it with new parts, but the system did not work that way. I think most crafters, at heart, want to twiddle with and upgrade equipment. (Think Grand Tourismo style upgrading and tweaking.) I know that this would take code, but this would solve many problems with decay. This could also introduce a service industry, where advanced crafters make parts, but artisans have the certs to install the parts.
- Flashlights (even if they are just personal light sources).
- Patches for clothing? (You can now add your rebel insignia to anything.)

Suggestions are just that.

As a Master Architect, I agree that there should be more "fun" items for achieving this goal. Filling in the gaps in the fireworks sequence seems like a good thing to add, but I don't know how hard that would be to design and code.

I think the best thing to add to master artisan would be a variety of artwork to hang on the walls as decoration. Architects have furniture, why can't artisans have artwork? This would definitely be something to strive for if you aren't already an architect or droid engineer.

While I haven't read all the posts to see if this idea has been said, I think it should be considered. I know one of the devs said they wanted to add some type of craftable decorations.
