Thread: About the Artisan State of Profession
Lots of great ideas listed here and as a DE I really hope they either shift a lot of the Master Artisan components into DE or make Master Artisan a viable and usefull skill. It's sucking up a lot of valuable skill points that I never use like Domestic Arts.
Back in Beta, Master Artisangranted a boost to surveyin addition tothat issued at Survey IV. I had been looking forward to using it but lo and behold it got cut from release for some unknownreason. I love the idea of having Harvester certs reliant on Survey skill so as to bring using them into line with what was originally intended, reintroducing the miner profession would probably go a long way to balancing this.
Ki-Odo and Ackis: One more thing DE related that's easier being a Master Artisan.. Droid Storage Compartments... It's a Novice DE created component, yet uses Artisan experimentation?
I have other things to use my limited Experimentation points on... I didn't choose the MA/DE route... Any time an architect tries to contract me for high quality droid storage compartments, I have to refer him to a DE+MA =/

I *think* crafting stations also use artisan experimentation as well...
Crafting Stations are DE experimentation (Only get 5 Experimentation points on 'em, as opposed to my non-master artisan 7)

Personal crafting stations... the ones archs make.
After reading this board I got the idea that the need for more master artisans ready to make those parts for others would help the master elite spare some skill points.
So in the following post :

I offered my service to my community ... not in selling already made items (buying them already made is always more expensive then making them yourself) but in selling Schematics made from ressources the customers would give me. Free for them to mass produce them afterward for cheap.
I do think that it's the kind of service that can be rewarding for both side and won't require for the master artisan to sell items real cheap to be competitive with what people can do by themselve.
Amen to that!!!!! Last night I posted 20 premium auctions with the assumption that I would get SOMETHING for paying 100cr... and I was not only shocked, but also appauled to see that I was totally screwed over! This seriously needs to be addressed. We NEED Artisans in the game, but many will drop it if there is NO perks to it at all!

Kav,
I am a MA on bria... I supply people with any parts for reasonable prices... or free if they are willing to supply all materials and power/maintaince on the factory
you will just need to IM me when I am in the game... Ackli
Ive made crates of Control Units but never seem to sell any. Heck Ive made crates of lots of things and sell little of it. I've had to result to to selling ores just to keep some credits comming in. Master Artisan is not the path to wealth thats for sure. Send me an in-game email and Ill make what ever you need.

I made ALOT of money on just artisan skills. More than i have made as a smuggler or a weaponsmith.
- Weapon and Armor Repair Tools
- Powerups by the crate.
I sold repair tools for 1500c-2000c each as long as they were 98 function rating. I sold enough to make near a million credits.Thats a 100c/u+ product folks. better than some weapons get.
Power ups are great too, but the market is very competive on em. Repair tools are typically wide open
On power-ups don't forget the melee's very few people make melee powerups, I sold alot of em. Talk to the folks and see what they need, some said they liked range mods, others wanted action pool.
Just be sure your sellign 30% or better powerups, anything less is not going to move well.
Frankly I might end up selling out of weaponsmith one day and going back to this, less material needed and less hassle. As long as weaponsmith is fun I'll do it though. I would pee my pants if I could get som plumbium iron with a conductivity better than 30 ![]()
I have something that I feel should have been implemented and suprised it hasn't.
Have a Master Survey Tool built by Master Artisans and this tool would be a great one to have.
Functions:
1. When First built has none but a MA can add some components while manufacturing or later added.
2. Survey tools can be added to it during manufacture: (a) Benifits: Doesn't cost extra invetory space (b) Drawbacks: benifit only works for tools added During maufacture
3. Survey Tools can be 'Plugged in" to master survey tool. (a) Benifits: Can access more than 1 survery tool function while in same menu, inventory screen less cluttered. (b) Drawbacks: While inventory screen less cluttered, 'plugged-in' item still takes up inventory space.
4. Tool should show which 'enhancements' it has and 'plug-ins' and total inventory space (min:1)
Maybe a 'Master Crafter Tool' along the same lines... ?
I like how they fixed the crafting screens, ie when you move from 'General Item' to 'Weapon' then back to 'General Item' it keeps what you picked before in 'GI' and 'Weapon'. A Good Fix
these crafting and survey screens however can get very cluttered, and as it stands a Master Survey/Crafter Tool would only be a nightmare. (well the craftinf tool has tabs, unlike survey tools) When you Collapse a tree to say only 'Mineral' and close it, when you open it it should still have 'Mineral' collapsed instead of expanded. a pet peeve.
