Not sure how many tries it took me but I did it over the coarse of a few days here and there- Probably used 5-10k of my good crism (can prob fetch 100-200 cpus). But the second time I got the crit success was probably within 20 tries of the first.

I don't like to grind. (Hence why I dont care to have a Jedi!) Like I said the only reason I did this was my biggest PvP armor competitor did it and I had to make sure he wasnt full of crap lol.

We did get a lot of crap for the pricing- I sold mine for 995k. I only made 30 (have enough layers for a couple hundred). However I still have boatloads of other armor to stock and Im not gonna flood my vendors with these new ones leaving my old armor useless thus having to slash the prices.

If I get another one- great. But no way am I going to grind it out again. Going for dble amazings on experiment is nothing like doing this.

Would be very nice if it wasn't a bug- can definately add some variety to the crafting market.

ok, I did some (fruitless) testing tonight. I'm using a 15.00 tool (freshly made, never decay'ed), a 45.000 crafting station (yes perfect, YAA for the single day crafting patch), +20 experimentation suit, with +7 assembly (not finished my suit yet alas), and in my shop in the wilderness (no city, or city bonuses, would any of the city bonuses help with assembly?)

Tested using moopoe vertex, durasomethingorother crism, and obiate duralloy making stun layers. My normal result at the assembly stage is

19%

24%

24%

and maxing out at

... not sure for the ham, never maxed it with stun layers to be honest

86%

86%

Tested tonight withover 200 assembly's, and other then a handfull of critical fails (which ate the resources and didn't pass to the assembly stage), all I got were great assembly's, and amazing assembly's, both of which produced identical results. (further annoying me about how worthless amazing assembly's are).

A fairly small sample to be sure, I'll do some further testing tomorrow, but is that how you ground out these "citical success's"? I'd prefer not to waste anymore obiate if I'm doing it wrong lol.

Anyways I used pyollian cakes for the first little while, till my stomach filled. They definately increased the number of completely worthless amazing assembly's, but did nothing else. And tomorrow I begin the hunt for a chef who makes T'illa T'iil (does that stuff even work?)so I can use even more pyollian before filling up.

And just to be carefull I also took a fair number of the 19/24/24 assembly's to final stage (experimenting stun), and it never exceeded the normal cap of 86% (and I managed to fill my datapad with enough amazing experimentation 19%/52%/86% stun layers to last me till the cows come home ).

Soo... has anyone else tested this? Anyone with any success at getting this rare "Critical Success" during assembly?

ug, another 100 tries, still pure

19%

24%

24%

other then the 2 or 3 requisite critical fails. Stopped when my arm started aching lol.

I've been using a macro to open the tool and select stun layers, then inputting the materials manually, then pressing enter to move to the next stage (to move from step 2/6 where I put in the materials, to 3/6 where it shows the assembly results).

Can anyone think of a macro command I could use that would allow me to do this without pressing enter? (so that I could press f5, then enter the resources, then f6, then f7. instead of having to go f9, enter resourcse, skip over and press enter, then skip back and press f10. kinda aukward)

To end the crafting session when I see that hated 19/24/24 I have another macro that does

/create item;

/create item;

And it gives me a "the crafting session has ended" message, and closes the crafting windows letting me start over. I'm sure those two commands are for something else, but they seem to work for what I'm using em for so I'm happy .

What's suprising to me is there have been no good, or mediocre results. Not a single result other then great, amazing, and the critical fails that eat resources but don't move to the next stage. I still get good results sometimes when experimenting, and I had thought they occured during assembly too, but I guess not.

Is this a thing on assembly or is it during experimentation?

First the Nazis came for the Communists, I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. After that they came for the Trade Unionists, I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant. And then they came for me, but there was no one left to speak.

Hmm..Still confussed on what I should do..Do I look for double amazings on layers when experimenting for STUN protect, or what? Ive gotton double amazing on STUN layers before..Still no 44% ...

Or this "lucky" breaking cap thing is luck?

Congratz to Farstar's 14% Stun layers.

The thing I still like to see is the step 3/6 screenshot! Proof about the title of the 'critical success'or notand the starting Attribute Values.

Interesting is the fact that this was done with a new spawned resource and with Crism, maybe Crism is the key?

I have had over-the-cap experimentation back in May. Me andanother armorsmith on Chimaera had this on the same day. I sadly did not realize what happend and went for a 5 point amazing on quality after the 7 points into resist. The layer was still a little better because using 3 identical layers got me 39% stun where 38% was and is still the cap on Chimaera.

In both cases it was easy do archieve with a new Crism that spawnedvery recently. I had posted this some month ago (would have to look up the post) and told about my theorie:Over-the-cap experimentation are far more likely or even only possible on the day of a new resource spawn.

Never ever again while grinding out more than 1000 stun layers I had this and I was paying attention till May.
