The devs working on combat upgrade can either hit the forums and respond all day to your questions or work on CU. I am sure we are all in agreement with having them bang away at issues and bugs with CU rather then post all day.

There have been 10 dev post in as many days on the armorsmith forum. How does this not qualify as comunication? As a Ranger I find it absurd you all have felt shafted in any way, yes your system is changing, and the devs have listen to your input and made changes such as the reduction in organics hehe, to the change back to the original stats for experimentation. Meanwhile we have sat and waited, and waited for even a hint as to what was going to happen to us and we got nothing. Thats right nothing not a single post by a dev in our forum for months....months! Yes, last night at the chat the devs did finally announce that we are getting CL in the CU, and the rangers rejoiced. But still I'd like you to find an official announcement on our forum from the devs, nope didn't happen. Even with a huge change like this not a red name to be found. Meanwhile like I stated before you have had 10 post in just the last 10 days. So again I ask how is that not communication?

If the corr did set up a spam campaign to the devs then he deserved to be stripped of his possition, plain and simple. One need not look as far as our own fine corr to see how it should be done, Owen has collected our issues and our questions, and presented them to the devs in a clean and professional manor. Guess what it worked, The devs changed their position on scout/rangers gettign CL and we patiently wait for them to answer the rest of the questions presented to them.

I'm glad you got some change to your Ranger profession. But the fact you don't have any communincation is sad.

As to our 10 posts. Quantity does not make quality. We are 3 1/2 weeks from HUGE changes in our profession and our correspondent can't even get a simple, "Thanks..got your message." You may feel fine about not hearing from Devs, but it doesn't make it right.

The choice is to have the developers respond to ALL of the questions, or have them develop? Is there no middleground where they spend 30 to 60 minutes a week (if not day) reading and responding to the forum that is directly impacted by their design decisions and coding implementations?

So if the choice is binary, then yes, please develop. But if their's some analog in this, then I don't think it's good policy to have your developers working in a vacuum.

Correspondents have rules just as you do on our forums and these need to be upheld. When a correspondent goes against the rules they will be removed just as any of you would be. A correspondent's position is to bring to the Dev team the issues their profession is currently having or foresee. It is not to rally up the troops and spam in private message tells to the devs, just to be heard. The correspondents have direct access to our email addresses and to the correspondent forum. Unfortunately there are times when TH and I get very busy and we need to concentrate on the other duties we have. During these times the correspondents may not hear anything from us. We do however let them know we are still reading their posts or emails even if we aren't replying and their concerns are being brought to the table.
All of this is outlined in the correspondent forum, the application for being a correspondent and the welcome letter they receive.
Please keep it constructive, any posts that are not constructive will be removed.

time and time again devs/forum mods/correspondents have said that no thread is actually deleted, in fact, threads are just moved to a part of the forum that normal people like us can't read.

if it was an accident, why not bring the thread back?

tiggs, how long do you think it will take for the new armorsmith correspondent to get framiliarized with the whole correspondent business? 2 weeks? more than that?

how important is armor in the new combat system?

it's a shame that instead of trying to work with the previous correspondent, THE POWERS THAT BE (TM) decided to fire him and look for a replacement because some players started sending PMs directly to you guys when they weren't getting any answers.

this, combined with the fact that around 60% of the questions were answered during the house of commons stratics chat is pretty interesting. i mean, why go through all the hassle of trying to do a good job when we've proven to you, time and time again, that we will pay for a product that's full of bugs.

ps: what ever happened to soe_tyrant?

also: just because someone asks a hard question, doesn't necessarily mean that the question isn't "constructive".

would you mind pointing us toward a link showing that the previous correspondent attempted to "rally the troops"? because i don't ever recall that happening. i mean, if you want him gone because he asks hard questions and expects answers, that's one thing. if you don't like it, just say so-- i think if you come out and say "we just want an armorsmithcorrespondent LITE" and own up to it, people might actually respect you for it.

all I gotta say is if they revoked his position for inciting spam then it's obvious they got alot of mail...

/shrug

I blame the SOE directors...not their employees. When a change to a game is made on this magnitude it isn't the developers to say "hey lets rewrite everything we've been working on for 2 years and make a new one" It is always alwaays their boss.

Here is a novel idea for you - hire enough people to do both.

As a crafter on a couple servers but NOT an Armorsmith I must step in here because the failure of the Devs to "listen" to any of us is universal. I must also point out that the ONLY problem here is the communities failure to REALLY do anything about it. I read all these posts about the Devs failure to heed to the desires of us, the guys who pay their salaries, and act accordingly. How many of you guys who constantly post how the Devs never listen to us have actually cancelled your subscriptions? Almost 2 yrs into this and the problem from the beginning is the same problem as today. The devs refuse to listen to the community. If its been 2 yrs and no progress how many of you actually think its ever gonna get better?! If you want to make a statement then cancel your subscriptions. That is the only "post" they will listen to.I know this game is addictive and all but if things are that bad then quit. The devs will take notice of that if nothing else. I dont expect this post to be around long so take heed, and yes I have cancelled my subscription in case anyone asks.

ok, well?!

and why is that even against the rules?

if devs aren't supposed to get PMs, why are we able to send them PMs?

so did removing the correspondent cause more or less problems? i can't tell.
