Yep the URL gave it away , nice to see a fellow Gryphon enjoying the game, and I thought I was the only one.
Awesome!
You on campus? Arox is a guelphite too btw.
I'm also gonna wager by the handle that you're in the CIS depttoo. heh, I'm working on 365 and321at the moment, 365 is a brutal course.

Well, Creature Handlers are a lot more common then Krayt Segments of that calibur are they not? I don't really see a motive for your "even if it's rare, it's unbalancing" manner of thinking. It's not like he has a full suit, it's just the gloves. And to be honest, how many times do the gloves get hit? The time and dedication it would take to complete a full suit is just the right amount of time for a seemingly invincible armor. Of course it's unbalancing, Jedi are unbalancing. And the way things are going now, we will have a Jedi before a full suit of this armor.
*Bolding added for emphasis*
You don't see a motive in my thinking, yet you agree with it?

Very well put. The people who are already crying nerf are the ones who would be keeping there mouth shut if they had those gloves. Those gloves are awesome and it makes me just feel better that someone in this game has something that awesome. Lets not ruin it for them with jealosy please. Unblancing...gimme a break. I doubt he'll ever have a full suit of it to be honest.
Actually, I would be one of the first to leave it in my shop with a big NERF THIS sign. I would not use it. But I would probably keep it on display. And I wouldn't sell it.

I think you see where I am going with this.....everyone complaining about how 'uber' and 'imbalanced' this set of gloves is needs to take a chill pill. All of the examples givento showthat a nerf is neededassume someone is wearing a full suit of this, which just isn't gonna happen anytime in the next few years.
Balance has nothing to do with how rare the occurance is. Balancehas to do with what happens when this occurance exists.
You yourself state that you wouldn't use it until you can verify that it would block all damage done to you. How can that not be unbalancing?
Though this may not be as damaging as the house exploit, it is still wrong fundamentally.
Very nice gloves, with that being said i dont care what you say they are to powerful to be in game, just think if a pc jedi got a suit of this he would be the tank on every raid for a mad dmg output( im guessing)and the ability to take 100% of the damage. or any melee for that matter

People keep forgetting these gloves do not let you take 100% of the damage. They are USELESS against anyone with a stun weapon, they are USELESS against DOT, they are USELESS against posion. That being said they are still BETTER then any otherarmor in SWG, and that is the only reason you're crying about it being unbalanced.
All anyone has to do is pull out a stun baton or an ion rifle, and pepper the wearer until they die. If you honestly believe these gloves are unbalancing, unfair and make you invincible in PvP, you obviously know very little about methods for damaging your opponent, and I hope to have the pleasure of facing you in battle.
NPC Mobs have had 100% resists since day 1, CHs get rancors with 9000 HAM and 100% resists to three or 4 damage types, and at least 30% to everything else. Yet the uproar about them has died down, without them being nerfed into the ground. Why can't player characters have 100% resists too? We're already limited to light armor ratings (at least until RIS)
I'll repeat what I said before, quit crying nerf because they aren't yours.
When I posted this I wanted to share the achievement with my armorsmith peers about the true power of our craft. I remember when 75% of the population of every server was anti armor and we were a rare breed. Now whenwe see what's possible, those very same people that said "4Rm0R is teh suck" are crying nerf the armor, its unbalancing! I'm begining to regret showing these in the first place, it seems pety jealousy has consumed many of you.
You calculated the ap wrong earlier when you said that ap 2 would be 100% blocked.
In fact it works like this ap 1 gloves vs ap2 weapon
Differance in ap is 1 in favor of weapon = -25% resitance, therefore the gloves would stop 75% of the dmg from an ap 2 weapon and 50% of an ap2 weapon

Your pretty argumentation just can't hide the fact that the rancor cannot use a stun baton or an ion rifle (or even a tangle).
Trying to defend an armor that can potentially allow you toridicule a krayt solo or a pack of rancors with no risks involved and just a brawler certification sounds funny, strangely enough.

The postI was replying to was one made about the fact that a person with this armor would be a PvP god.
I made no implications about its use in PvE, it is very good for PvE, but I have been hit by NPC mobs with stun damage before. So evenin PvEthey are not truly 100%, they are justvery good, very rare gloves.
Actually it is calculated as a damage increase, before the resists are even taken into account.
Its AP2 hits AR1 for 100 pts of damage
2 > 1 so damage is now 125
100% resist to damage type blocks 125 pts of damage. I have faced many NPCs and Mobs on lok, I can only assume I've been hit at least once in the gloves by an AP2 or greater weapon. And yet these gloves have not lost a point of durability since they were sliced to 100%.
Anyone know the AP on a nightsister rancor? I got hit for 2k by one of those, and it was reduced to 0. Can only assume it was a medium or heavy AP attack with the multipliers alreadycalculated, before resists got counted.
To be sure I'll get someone to wail on me with a t21 and get back to you all with the definitive answer.
Put on suit for PvP.
Get mind poisoned.
Incap. Get DB'd.
Lose 3% condition on all armor.
Repeat.
Just fyi unless they stealth patched it, all effectiveness slices were doing nothing previously. We had about 5-10 people take logs of effectiveness sliced armor, and in every single case, the armor was only protecting for what it had resist for *before* the slice. i.e. 50% armor lsiced to 65% was only blocking 50% of the damage.
This is the first of a lot of logged reports to the contrary. Naturally I personally believe those who have less to gain and are in the majority.
