I watched LoTR3 last night and something caught my attention...

The greater adept at fighting that a character was the less armor they wore. If you watch the Gundor GI's wear very "clunky" iron/metal armor but Aragorn, Legolas, and the drawf guy, all seem to be wearing a type of thick leather armor. This may in due be to the fact that they feel they do not need the extra protection because of their efficency with defensive and offensive weapon technique, or because they feel that the bulky armor would slow them down.

I think it would be neat for SOE to implement a system where you would have armor prohibiting stats where the speed of your actions would be slowed depending on the armor cert you have and the armor you are wearing. An example: a novice marksman would have +5 armor speed where as a Master Marksman might have +50 armor speed, and elite professions might have +100 armor speed. These could vary per profession based on what the profession should be doing in combat. TKA should have a high armor speed as they use their body instead of weaponry. Rifleman should have a lower end because of their damage output and the fact that they should be at range and still when fighting. These stats should not be stackable (your character uses the highest stat out of it's professions).

Additionally new armor variants could be made with varying protection/speed costs with definate difference levels (possibly tieing in certs again here) but with no one armor in a cert lvl having a clear advantage over another.

I think that this type of thing would get players to really use the professions how they are supposed to be used. The ability not to stack the stats would help avoid the uber templates. and the difference in armor protection/speed would take care of the composite clones as players would have to think about the abilities of their character a little more and choose an armor which is complimentary. let me know what you think.

No it should not, medium armor cuts damage by 75% right off the bat. Again for pvp dmg reduction, then resists and such. What the heck do you think you are, a stone wall?

You're a bounty hunter, you surprise the bounty with status changes(kd, dizzy, blind) and lay it down ASAP. If you want to stand still and take a beating from everything, change to fencer/TKA. Why don't you just ask for a one-shot-kills gun and 100resist armors on top of that. sheesh.

This game needs armor certification. I'm done.

Ok mandolorian isn't really uber.... its light saber resistant yes, its very useful, all the little special things in the helmet,

Question, why does Boba Fett and Jango Fett avoid being shot or hit? its got weak spots, its designed to take down Jedi, not any thing else AT ALL, so its strong in some sense, but its not "uber", its simply very rare sense the mandolorians nearly extincted the Jedi and it was a long time ago.....

The only way any one should ever have it, is as a reward givin out once a year to what ever bounty hunter kills the most jedi, and at the end of the year who ever wins would get the armor..... simply put it would be RARE

armor certifications? maybe, I can see that I suppose, but what about crafters who wear it so they DON'T DIE, think balance here.... just remmeber that

Make crafter "tank armor" that has always maxes out encumbrence, but has good resists. Make it make funny noises and look like they're wearing large steel boxes on their arms. Just 'cause it'd be funny.

armor cert. sounds great, but it should be implemented carefully and with as many choices as possible, both in look, color, and performance.

all of the armor in this game leaves something to be desired, but i don't see anything particluarly bad about that proposed bh armor. it looks quite a bit like composite. the helmet is kinda weird, but i think composite helms are funky looking anyway. especially on rodians or mon calamari.

i also like some ofthe other ideas posted here.

Armor certs is an awesome idea, I'm really really really sick of seeing everyone in the game wearing composite armor. I always said that there needs to be more armor varieties in the game. But the armor should only be available at the master level, because who really wants to see those peskyCH dabblers wearing our armor?

BTW, Mandalorian armor wasn't lightsaber resistant. The only material in the SW universe is cortosis, which Mandalorian armor isn't made of.

TK4627 then why is the big dent in Boba-Fetts helm from a lightsaber? and the Mandalorians are the ones who almost killed off ALL JEDI, no one else did..... so some thing makes it good for fighting Jedi then.....

BTW there are a number of types of armor just most of them SUCK

Does anyone have any wp's they would share that could locate Death watch and Black sun NPCs. I recently spent 2+ hours searching for these people. If anyone has a wp they would share plz reply.

Yavin IV. Drive up and down the northern coastline north of the Mining outpost. You should be able to find some in the nortwest region. At least I always have been able to.
