Mandaloria armor is mandalorian armor, it's not a BH armor. It's not cause 1 person and his clone-son wore it that it's BH armoring. He only wore it cause it was lightsaber-resistant(excluding the soft spots). These armors were rare anyway, so handing them to every BH that gets to master is like giving a jedi to everyone, it make no sense movie/book-wise.

People need to stop asking for that armor.

Other than that, i agree with your post, except the higher Armor rating part, light is fine, no player should ever get medium+, that'd wreck balance. Talk about shooting at someone for an hour to kill him.

Professions that got hosed in the defense department (bounty hunter and commando) should get something more for their skill point expenditure and total lack of defenses. That should be a medium armor. If bounty hunters are intended to hunt Jedi, who just happen to be running around with insane damage, AP2 weapons, then the armor certification for a master bounty hunter should be an AR2 suit of armor. That's not wrecking balance, that IS balance.

Also, thanks for posting that side by side comparison of the armor, Reliec. Should put that argument to rest for a while.

I don't know much about the whole expanded SW universe...

...but in Knights of the Old Republic, if you do a cheat to get different types of armor, you can get Mandalorian armor - and it looks NOTHING like Boba Fetts. Also, there are plenty of Mandalorians in the game, and the armor- the same one you can get through the cheat - looks nothin' like the Fett armor.

You don't have to cheat in KOTOR to get Mandalorian armor, you can loot it off corpses of Mandalorian raiders. Yes, it doesn't look like what Jango or Boba Fett wear. Maybe it's different because KOTOR is set 4000 years earlier?

I got this from the Star Wars Databank on the EU section about Boba Fett:

"Fett dresses in fearsome armor of Mandalorian design. The battle-scarred suit's design heritage can be traced back 4,000 years, when clans of Mandalores fought against the Jedi during the Great Sith War. The armor is heavily modified with numerous hidden and deadly features. The T-shaped visor set in the helmet incorporates a macrobinocular viewplate. The rest of the helmet features a temple-mounted broadband antenna, motion and sound sensors, an infrared device, and an internal comlink connected to his ship."

After the earlier posts I fired up KOTOR and took some screenshots of one of my guys in two different suits of Mandalorian armor. The only real difference between the armor in KOTOR and SWG is the helmet and the shape of the chest plate. Therest of it is fairly similar.

/agree with the armor issue.

Everyone walks around with armor just for protection, they should put more use to clothes and tailoring. Also they should make Mandelorian Armor only for Master BH's or close to master.

All the armor in the game looks stupid. I dont know where everyone got some of those screen shots but like someone already said, 'if it gave 100% resist to everything i still wouldnt wear it.' We seriously need more custom equipment. there is a huge variety of clothing, why not armor? Every set of armor out there has at least one peice of it that looks totally retarded. I would rather wear a watermelon on my head then some of the helmets! Also if I wanted to wear a dress, I would just wear a dress. It would look better then the half a satalite dish hanging off the back of the mabari pants! Eeeck. I dont wear armor, and I get owned all the time... but at least I dont look like a moron that came straight from a junk yard...

Just have a FP system for BH

Just like the GCW - You can turn in FP for Plans - which require Something from most other proffessions - and are player crafted but only able to be used by the BH who earned the plans.

Well, it's good to see this thread getting some activity. I agree wholeheartedly about BH and Commandos getting hosed in the defensive department. I haven't quite gotten up to Inv 2 yet, so I've only picked up Ranged Damage Mitigation 1 so far and haven't tried it out in PvP yet. I'm hoping it at least does something. I had it with master pistoleer after it was first patched in but didn't know a whole lot about it.

As for armor certs creating clone armies of BHs who look alike.... not if there were 5 different looking sets of armor in each certification. I mean, there are hundreds of different styles of clothes, dozens of different kinds of guns (altho everyone seems to use the same few), and what, about 5 or 6 total kinds of armor that anyone can wear? I say give "special" armor to special classes who have earned it through hard work, lay out a choice of maybe 10 different kinds of armor with similar stats for "newbie" profs (hell, let a newbie marksman have 97% composite that he has to be buffed, high on pixie, and stuffed with food to wear, and give me a 97% set of special certification armor with the same HAM as bone armor), and that will go a long way towards livening up the game from a divertisy standpoint.

And yes, if lightsabers are AP2, then BH armor should be at LEAST AR2. If Bounty Hunters can draw missions from the terminal to hunt player Jedi, the duels between the two should be epic and not one sided. I'm talking about a duel that lasts a half hour and draws the attention of everyone in the area (and no TEF on the Jedi for fighting the BH). Now THAT would be fun.

Btw, just hit 1 4 4 4 in BH today, just about to Inv 2

I am all for the class specific armor.

But just remember what happened when we got the cert for the scatter pistol and all the pistoleets wanted to have that cert also. They whined and moaned about that for weeks. Just be prepared for people to start whining about class specific armor.

I say if we want to have a class specific armor, it should be in the Master box of the said profession. Once you get master you get the certification. That way people cant whine piss and moan about a class specific armor.

My 2 cents worth, if its worth anything.
