I doubt it, since they can't make any other kind of armor.

I think the armour looks very cool, and I am looking forward to ridiculing myself ingame in inspeakable wookiee fashion to blag a free set. I like the resists too, I have often complained about 80% resists. A krayt doing 40 damage makes me a saaaaaaaad panda

What if it was? Would Tailors enjoy that? I have been trying to gauge Tailor opinion on this issue and it's quite diverse. Some want the 'component' removed from Tailor because it has 'nothing to do with tailoring'. Some want the component removed from Tailor because they'd have to experiment on it and cannot be bothered to resource chase.

If you could make this armour outright, would it be more acceptable to you? Even though it still 'has nothing to do with tailoring'? Even if it means you'd have to resource chase for excellent attributes?

I'm not saying you all don't have legitimate concerns, Master Artisan is a hub of nothing but components for other professions, but unlike them at least Tailors do have other things to make - master artisan is basically nothing but a hub for components; there is no alternative.

Are adding these components to Tailoring taking away from Tailors? Was it a case of the devs saying'we could either add more new clothes to make or more component inputs to other professions, we chose the latter to give Tailors'? I do not see any indication that this was so.

I'm not scrapping for a fight; just looking for a discussion.

Truth be told I too, like a previous poster always thought tailored clothes at some stage would gain protective abilities. After all it mentions such every time you examine clothing (well from what I see anyway, some blurb about some clothing having 'protective traits' or some such.

Lastly I don't see how this will take customers away any more than other races having clothes and armour. I'll still need to hit up tailors for wookiee clothes regardless of what armour is in.

You make a good point. Wookiees get a HAM bonus to compensate, and that is why I chose wookiee. However, take a human and a wookiee, buff them both, but let the human get a better buff... now where is the bonus? Also, there is a big difference when you have crappy armor 45% (although, there is90%+ out there). A ham of 1000 wookiee compared to 600 human, and the human wins. I hear rumors of better regen, but I fail to notice the difference. We don't have any useful perks (such as defenses, crafting, etc) except /wookieeroar that doesn't work all that well, and a CH bonus. However, to make CH worthwhile now, you need to be master. If you are master, what use is a taming bonus? (especially with better BE'd pets)

Back when I was wookiee I'd worked for 4 months, had 3 houses and factories, small house full of food and 1000 super stim B's I'd just made, another house with stuff I had stored worth million of credits like weaponry and loot but I gave it all up for combat when I rerolled my char to become zabrak and SWG failed to give me rights of my stuff back.

The current wookiee armor I've seen can easily get 50%+ kin resist, it has much lower ham costs than in total compared to other armor.

It's obviously not made for PvP and only covers like 50-75% of the body - if as much as one wookiee of you wookiees are even remotely ungreatful about your super stat migration being helped extra by this then I will have to burn you all alive

Well maybe you haven't really read what I wrote but short version is:

Any wookiee unhappy about armor on any point s0x since thiir new armor is more than what should have ever have been able to hope for (not including the armor's design, that'll teach them )

aye! i being a wookie, and a armorsmith, some what specialize in the stuff.

wookie armor takes alot of wood and hides and very little metals. So most armorsmiths for the longest of time have stocked piled metals and chemicals. Now all of a sudden with the all the spefic flora types needed for black mountain and the Hunting armor, armorsmiths have had to start from scratch all over again, tolocate top quaility wood that they have never had to collect before. So a lot of amorsmiths make enoughmoneyon composite that its not worth it to them to worry about it.

myself have a large selection of wookie armor on my vendor starting at 55k for cermonial up to 280k for hunting. srry ur not on ahazi disturbed

Hey guys Im not a fellow Armorsmith myself but I am a wookiee. and I was woundring why (if their is a reason). isnt their any armorsmiths that make wookiee armor and the ones that do are few and far between. Just woundring Ty for all the information.

The main problem is that both the Wookiee armors require an obsene amount of structural organics to do. For instance, the Kashyyykian Hunting armor requires 25000 Dath Leathery and 16000 Dantooine Avian just to make the armor segments. Then each piece requires Lokian Leathery and Tat Wooly (the chest also requires Dant Animal Bones). Basically, its a lot of work to collect all the resources...compared to something like Composite that only requires Wooly (as far as organics go) and its not even a named resource.

Getting the specific woods required for hunting armor is nomore difficult than getting say, Colat Iron and Beyrillus Copper for composite.

I think thething that puts many smiths off is the very high hide requirements. They either have to spend a lot of their own time hunting the hides, or pay someone else a lot to do it for them.
