Last thing I read about Mind damage was that we can target the Mind and, with enough of the given skill or whatever, we will likely hit it. But no more shots where you are guaranteed that you will exclusively hit the targeted pool. Hope that clears it up for now. No doubt that everything is subject to change though.
I deeply agree with your last sentance.
'nuff said for now.

Well, I heard the Mind wasn't going to be a targeted pool after the CB

I remember reading in a dev post that the mechanics of ham pools were going to change in some manner that people will not exclusively be attacking mind in pvp anymore. This leadsme to believe that either mind is going to be healable, or that all specials which specifically target mind will have decreased damage modifiers (or something else similar to these).
There is no doubt in my mind that riflemen will suffer a nerf in the rebalace, as it is currently one of the best classes in the game for both pvp and pve.

The mind is the most if not the only part of our HAM bars which is targetted while in PvP (if anyone disagrees please post so). The lack of healing abilities given for the mind (which makes absolutelly no sense) permits other professions to harm certain professions by a large margin. Let me explain pls. I can heal my Health and Action pools with a normal Stim A, B, C, D, E. but cannot heal the mind with them, and thus giving a reason to PvP'ers to hit only the mind. Yes there are ways in which to enhance the mind to a point where it heals somewhat repidly, but as there is also for Health and Action. It is only fair that the mind not be a targettable attribute of the HAM bars due to such reasons. Right now, non of the Brawler Professions have a chance of advancing much further in the PvP rating scheme becuase once they go against a Master Rifleman, Master Doctor, they have no chance! <--- That being the most preferred PvP template on the galaxies at the moment for its flawlessness, it also has the most impressive mind damage of all professions (with exclussion of Combat Medic) and range of weapons in which to do the mind damage with! As other professions are not given the opportunity to hit with different types of damages, and or weapons then again, to make it fair for everyone, just take away the whole mind damage bid, and let everyone work for their PvP rating instead of taking it while taking advantage of a flaw in the game! Don't misunderstand what I'm trying to say please, the Rifleman profession needs no change, although I have never mastered it, I understand it is a fun profession which ultimatelly needs very little adjustment, it is the mind damage that needs to dissappear. Oh well... we'll just have to wait for the Dev's to make their choice on the matter. Good luck to everyone.

ok. what you said about the mind damage. common knowledge. some are for it to change some against. what you said about the rifleman vs. the melee?? WAY OFF. a character with tk and fencer would wipe the boards with a rifle/doc. hands down. first off tk can hit mind too, and the stats a fencer gets to dodge are sick. also, riflemen can't hit very well up close so they have to hope to finish fast or run while shooting which also takes away accuracy. no no my friend, melee professions are not hurting one bit. get your facts straight.

Ok, first thing: Ylusyon...the enter key is your friend.
Moving one, Mind damage in and of itself is not that abhorrent, it is actually fairly well balanced because most mind attacks require mind to use them. So since mind is unhealable you are basically trading off endless attacks with more damaging ones due to the unhealability. However buffs negate this to the point where all specials cost 0 so the balance is thrown off thanks to us getting drunk. Have mind cost to damage ratio (same goes for health and action imo) put back in and it becomes much more difficult to manage attacks and plan out how to kill someone let alone a group without nerfing anyone. Mind becomes much less important because you don't have an infinite pool damage other peoples minds but rather a finite pool, and a small one to boot.

It will not matter.. at the same time the Ham system changes.. they will be dropping all 90% armor down to 65% cap and the rest scaled accordingly. The rumor is that the new armor will also not let one regen the 'special' bar either. So if u wear it u cannot throw but the equivelent of like 5-8 specials before u are empty and have to retreat.
I seen the othersystem on test for the 2 days before they yanked it.. in that system the bars your weapon was dependent on shrank when u used a special.. so using too many let your advesary kill u easier. They removed it because it regened back and would pull u out of an incap too fast. This may be the system they bring back. If so.. expect to rely on alot of autofire.
It is a shame that they have inexpierienced devs that do not use any of the tried and true systems from the old games.. it makes the playerbase struggle through alot of garbage.

IMHO The combat revamp is probably going to be a great change for this game. I remember back in the day when you had to group up with your guildmates/friends to gain experience. Those were the fun days, getting a group together and people running around town with the (LFG) tag over their head.
Everything is so unbalanced, and I know a lot of the profession are looking at it as a huge Nerf fest. And it is, but I think therevamp will bring more of a challenge for us all. To my understanding Jedi's are already balance for the revamp hence the reason why some of us padawans are getting jacked by others so easily.
I'm kind of taking a break from the game atm and waiting for the Combat Revamp and JtL. The constant grind is getting to me a little, need to go play some FPS games. Been with swg since Beta and I thinks it's about that time to hone my skills in fps's again.
Tired of watching my toon having all the fun shooting things while I sit and watch. LOL

If the combat revamp forces me to have to group with people I will definitely quit this game. I have played too many games where I have grouped with jerks and quit Everquest because of all the jerks that played that game that I grouped with. this is the only game I know of where I can kill sttuff on my own by getting a doctors buff and some composite armor. A lot of people feel the same way about forced grouping and would probably quit too. This is an online game with a lot of different people who play it. Whoever came up with the idea to force people to group just to play a game and level is an idiot. I play games to get away from reality for a little bit and have fun by MYSELF not with other people in a group who gripe about where to go to xp.

I agree. The game was so much more fun when we had to get a big group together to hunt kryats. Or when we used to run missions in a group.
I don't remember the last time our guild got together to do a big hunt.
