I am at work, and rewrote that several times before I was finished....lol Forgot to put that in there.
In most situations....Armor is almost totally unneccesary.
Sorry for the confusion
On average...the biggest things I fight are Mokk/Janta missions on Dantooine, and Rancor missions on Dathomir...Just for cash

Oh yeah in that case i dont wear armor for that stuff either i dont like armor at all but its a must if you wana be able to live tough the bigger mobs.Thats why i would like special armor for all melee that dousnt look like ugly bulky armor instead it should look like a marital arts suit and says toughness.

Armor for a TK is totally unneccesary for TKs.
I am a Master Brawler/TKM/Swordsman on my primary character...and I don't wear armor. I have no need, because not much in PvE can hit me...and when they do...they don't hit me hard, because of the mitigation, and toughness.
I'm very happy with this, because it saves me A LOT of money on armor.
Specific clothing for TKs would be nice, but defense bonuses shouldn't be neccessary. Maybe Def Vs KD/Dizzy..etc would be nice....but we can get regular clothes with BE Tissues for a lot of that, and attatchments for the sockets.
Even if TK armor was put in...I would stick with my outfit.
Black decorative vest with Blue accents
Blue shirt (same color as the vest accents)
Black pants and uniform boots
Only changes I would make would be some BE Combat versions of this outfit

How about Circlets instead of helms? ... Leather Bracers? ... Tabi socks? ... Tunics? ... Girdles? ... Maybe use Crystals in there creation?

if anyone has ever played jedi outcast or jedi academy you'll know what im talkin about. they should let TKM's and Master Fencers use clothing with cortosis in it. it was a stone that resisted lightsabers. its actualy in a couple of the books too. I, Jedi i believe thats the one that its in, cause Corran Horn trys to slice a FS character in the story and his saber straight up shuts off. that'd be awesome. that way we could get some saber resistance that other classes couldnt get

Im going around in a t-shirt, pocketed shorts, a long coat and a bandolier. All nicely made by the guild tailor. All bioengineered for melee defense, bleed resist and intimidation bonuses. I certainly dont want to have to look like every other TK running around the server.I like having my own style. But I also hate wearing armour, and would be very interested in TK specific armour.

Ive been thinking about this a bit now. Toughtness will only make us better against Jedi, and Jedi are no uberproblem as it is for TKMs. So it that was to be put on the clothes then it shouldnt as as much as +20. Max +10 and maby some state-protections. Getting better stunprotection and defence vs intimidate would be great. Then we would be good in close combat (PvP) but wouldnt have a big chanse against a ranged prof.
Toughtness would be good in PvE tho. Its a hard balance but this thread maby gave the Devs somthing to think about.

That's the biggest problem with this...Balance.
TKs are already tough to beat in a fight. With the high melee defense and the speed we have...Not to mention there are very few straight TKs out there. most will have mastered another combat profession to add more defenses...Like the very popular adding Fencer, Swordsman, and Polearm trees.
As a Master Brawler/TKM/Swordsman I am already hard to hit in PvE. In PvP...which I rarely do...I have a little problem if someone sticks a Dizzy/KD on me...then it's free play. Very annoying. What we need is more def vs states...like Dizzy or stun...and a bit more def against posture change....
But this can be remedied by BE clothing or even attachments...or just managing to land the Dizzy/KD first.
It's getting to the point were there is no skill...it's who lands the first Dizzy/KD.
I would rather not have armor or specific clothing that increases toughness...but rather more variety in tissues that help us.
Tailor clothing that is profession specific would be nice...and we already have stuff that kinda works....
Pilots already have flightsuits (which at this point don't do anything except make you look like a pilot)
RangedWeaponand Ranger professions have the cammo gear (that doesn't really do anything unless it's got tissues)
Crafters have aprons and stuff that enhance their abilities.
Melee professions could use something that makes us stand out and define us as melee professions.
I am not sure what that would be....but Robes for TK would be interesting....But not sure what they would look like in the Star Wars Universe...
However with what Tailor options we have in game...we could come up with something.
Maybe as a special loot drop schematic...like the Crafter aprons and Dancer clothing
I dunno exactly where this could go...but in truth, we don't need a whole lot of bonuses....just a few minor modifications to existing stuff

Make it content. A quest in which a TKM goesthrough a discovery process of the history and art of Teras Kasi itself in order to earn the right to wear the TKM robe. The robe should have an unarmed toughness value to make it an option to consider INSTEAD of armor. I love this idea, and wish someone would present it to devs. Content is a good thing.

Having a specific armor for melee professions is a great idea, but with all their work on JTL and the combat revamp a completely new armor may be too much to hope for. How about we make a more realistic proposal? There is an armor in the game that nobody wears because of it's insane encumbrance to protection ratio: padded armor. It "looks" like a futuristic martial arts armor, and since it is already in the game all that has to be done is tweak it towards much lower encumbrance and high kinetic resistance. It shouldn't be better than composite, but the stats on padded armor could be tweaked to where a melee profession would choose it over composite andthe ranged professions would still choose the composite. It would go a long ways towards having some variety instead of everyone running around in composite armor. I say give it high kinetic and blast resistance and only moderate protection against heat and energy. Lower the encumbrance to where any species can wear it unbuffed. For those of use who are TKA/Rifleman, we could just slap on a composite helmet when we go ranged.
Some would argue that the padded helmet is goofy looking, but the rest of the suit looks like melee armor to me and has a lot of options for customization of color. Thoughts?
