A quest would be good. It would be manly if the robes could change color like comp armor, so you could be whatever color you want instead of every TKA having a brown robe.

Ive already got a padded armor helmet. Its green and pink. I will not wear it in PvP for its got no stunprotection, and I wont use it in PvE cus its only got 44%Kin. And now with NPCs using weapons they can pull out a stunbaton and still kick your ass if your not careful.

The quest for the robes woulnt be good at all. Then it would be like the scythe-quest. It wont take long to do but the item is going to cost alot.

If theres going to be a quest the quest have to give you the right to wear the robe. Not to get a schem for it or something like that. And if you drop TK novice you should have to redo the quest for the right to wear the robe.

And adding melee defence.. melee defence is the opposite to accurency. How could a robe add to you not getting hit? If anything it should have Toughtness and/or DA. (yea I would like statedefences to)

Just my two cents here...

I wear specially-made Padded Armor by Rocky on Intrepid Server. He is currently working on some Kinetic/Energy (possible stun) but I have yet to see the product. Add a PSG into the mix and you have decent armor that fits the TK class. I admit I wear Composite when I am doing the DWB or the Vette, and at times I will wear my Kinetic/Energy composite to the Imperial POI's, but I try and stick with my padded whenever possible. Padded tends to look more like a hand-to-hand combat armor, it CAN be made with decent stats, granted it is not composite by any means, but I can wear an entire set of padded sliced for encumberance without buffs. I do not currently wear a helmet unless I am fighting mobs that tend to hit the head alot, such as riflemen.

I would like to see an outfit similar to Darth Maul's Dark Jedi robes in Episode I. They are VERY samurai in appearance, they could be modified to not be so Jedi-like and would create a very clothing/armor appearance and help us further stand out as a profession.

On top of this, I would like to see something along the lines of Tazer Gloves that do Electricity damage, big bulky Power Gloves that do possibly blast or stun damage, perhaps Conductor Knucklers that do Energy Damage. The graphics have great possibilities (static electricity crawling around the fists for the tazer gloves, shockwave-like graphics for the power glove attacks, bright flashes of light and energy when the conductor gloves connect for damage) and it would give a wider variety to the damage we can do. Perhaps a new Master Brawler weapon would be nice as well... something useable by all 4 professions? That would be interesting...

Anyway, this is my two cents...leave it on the ground or pick it up and use it, I have said my piece.

Theres a whole race in SWG not able to wear gloves. Nice way to make them all go another prof.

People if you understand tka. It is one of the only prof in the game that really doesnt need any armor at all. Most toughness out of any other prof. Why give tka something that it really doesnt need.

i was wandering what you all think about this idea. since mandolorian armor can only be worn by master commando, bounty hunter, squad leader or ranger, i think that it would maby be a good idea to add a couple more like sets to the game for things like the lighter classes, light fencer, tka and pistoleer. i'd like to see some other people's opinions on this. thx in advance

The new armour/robe idea is brilliant, composite doesnt look right but in pvp and a lot of pve you get raped without it.Waiting on a good set of padded at the moment and as others have said a modified version of that would be great especially with a second option of robes.

Agnoris' idea is good too just without the gloves. Why cant trandoshans wear gloves anyway, surely tailors/armoursmiths arent that useless in the star wars world

I must admit, all of these ideas are great ones. I have seen many of these thoughts brought up in previous posts but have not contributed any of my oppinions. I hold a strong belief in all of my ideas and welcome any critism, but I will defend my statements vehemently.

My frist concern is, as the origional poster stated, armor. I agree with what most of the posters have stated. However, I would suggest some modifications to your origional oppinion. Before I begin, let me reming you that what we are asking for has a precedence - JEDI ROBES! I feel that TKM's should have to go through a quest to recieve a schematic that allows Teras Kasi Masters to craft the robes from materials and previously crafted substances that tailors have created. The items should be able to have different stats added into them, much like bio-engineered tissues, except they would be added in creation. The robes can have a certain amount of tissues added, thus limiting the stats to a reasonable level.

For example, A new tkm that has been grinding non-stop for a couple of days decides that it is time to take a break from the tedium of raising money and to get his highly anticipated, custum robes! He goes on the quest, collects the materials, pays the tailor with his freshly erned money, and specifies that he wants a +20 unarmed toughness tissue, +25 defense vs intim. tissue, +25 defense vs. dizzy tissue, and some lightsabre resistance added through the collection of rare black crystals (these are just examples of what has been suggested, feel free to try and figure out the "proper" defenses, im just giving an example). Then, he goes to a special crafting station, deep in a dungeon with only himself to rely on (again, DWB anyone?) and decides on the color/varience in style he desires. He then goes through a mini game that he has to repeat until he gets it right. The completion is an outfit with the "selected" items in it that has no cond (cant break) or ham cost. Again, this is just an example and should not be taken for granted.

The other concern that has been brought up is weapons. I have a, perhaps, unique outlook on this debate. I feel that our vibro knuckler should be gotten rid of...before you flame me, please consider my whole statement. I believe that tka should not be a dabbling proffession and that master needs to be more desirable. Therefore, I say remove the vibro knuckler, add a natural armor piercing of one at novice, perhaps add a natural armor piercing of two at master, then again at master, give us the ability to change are style of fighting thru a meditate like ability. From say, medium armor piercing kenetic to light armor piercing stun (vary the armor piercing with the type of damage). I believe that this wont be unbalancing considering that all of these abilities will only be held at master and we will be getting rid of any extra damage with the vibro. Perhaps masters will only get the kenetic damage type with ap 2, but we have to go on quests to obtain different fighting "styles." Dont get me wrong, I know Tka itself is a style, but I mean slightly altering it from fighting as taught origionally to fighting with blows that are meant to disorient (stun).

My ideas are just that, ideas. Feel free to tweak them or criticise them, but dont dismiss them outright. Only a fool rejects ideas before he truly considers them. Even the most moronic ideas one has ever known has crecedence somewhere!

Taidashan I realy like your ideas about the robes. The only problem I saw was the condition of them... if they were a quest item. But if it has infinite cond then this qould be no problem. Tissue alternative is great. A cert just like the one for RIS would be good to have. And you should only be able to wear the piece youve crafted (ripoff from Jedi, I know).

But when it comes to removing the VK.. Getting AP at novice/master that I like. The first problem would be that then we would have infinite condition is this weapon to. It would be a verry cheap profession to play . I personaly like that we get a weapon that we can use at novice as every other combat profession has got one at brawler/marksman novice.
