Just check the FAQ, it has everything. Master Smugglers do get better slices. And your percentages are based only on your skill boxes, not your XP. Just like in any other proffession. A Teras Kasi Student with 0 unarmed XP is no better than a Teras Kasi Student with 125000 XP.

So when slicing, when does the quality of the materials matter? Is it in the AUK/WUKs or in the clamps or laser knives? Thus far I've seen no difference in clamps or knives, so I was just curious if it was the AUK/WUK where it's important.

I just started smuggler. I am clueless how to open these locked containers. It seems like I need more than a laser knife. How do I increase my chance of succesfully opening the locked containers?

I just reached novice smuggler, and the plan was to complete the slicing skill tree.
When i slice items i have the option between red and blue wire, clamps, and a analyse nod. I know the red-blue wire dosent garentee success.
But does the clamps?(if that iswhatthey werecalled)can i use them even im noivce smuggler?
sorry to ask such a silly question, but idon't want to ruin the containers i've looted from nightsisters and such.

I'd be glad to help.
With only your slicing knives, you have a 50/50 chance of success. Red or Blue (most of the time, it seems to be red)
If you install an analysis or whatever device, it increases to 75% chance (it tells you that one has a 75% chance to be the right one). However, you must have some slicing skill before you can make those.
If you use a molecular clamp, you have a 100% chance of success. It tells you which one to cut. However, only those that have finished Slicing IV can make those.
Analysis thing isn't really worth it....so....
Your options are:
1. Guess 50/50
2. Get a friend to give you some clamps
3. Ask a smuggler for spare clamps
4. Buy clamps from smugglers or vendors
Good luck and happy slicing!
REVIEW:
Nothing: 50% chance
Analysis = 75% chance
Clamps = 100% chance

I charge 10k per weapon and 2k per piece of armor and I get no complaints usually. I tell the customer if they have any questions to explain to me why they just paid 10-15k for a 3.5 hour buff and their items are now permanantly modified.

5k flat for everything. I've heard of folks charging 10k flat across the board before. But on my server, most folks are spamming services at 3k, so I figure I won't press my luck.
I think at 2k per armor you're really cheating yourself. The bulk of my slicing income is off of people who need a full composite suit sliced. That's 45k for a suit at my rates, but only 18k at yours. AUKs are no cheaper than WUKs in my experience, and I've never had complaints. Heck, they usually just spent 200-500k for a good comp suit.. what's another 50?

I'm a flat 250 credits per percent, myself.
Though I DID do a bulk job recently where I sliced 30 VK's, gave him the top two damage, and kept the rest and 50k. The rest I sold for a REALLY nice price.

5k per slice for me. Only once did someone refused my price.
