I think you do. The bonuses from segments stack within the core. Three +10 segments give you a +30 core. Bonuses from cores do NOT stack. Three +30 cores equals a +30 bonus to the armor.

This is a little confusing to me too, and I may be wrong. The key here is that chest take 3 identical cores, and that the leggings and helm take 2 identical cores. While the arms only need one core. I believe that means that the segments that go into the cores used in the chest, legs or helm must also be identical. So you would not be able to use a combination of segments that are different in each core. The segments can be different, but you have to use the same three segment choices for all three cores. So as long as you do that, you should be all right.

For Battle armor I would suggest looking for Krayt Scales, they are the ones existing in largest quantities. Unless you manage to get hold of some +20 NS layers, you will need both Segment Enhancers (Krayt Scales, NS layers etc.) and the Appearance Enhancer (Peko Peko Feathers) to reach the +350 cap.


There are 3 segments in each advanced core and you will need 11 cores for the full armor. That gives 3x11 enhancers (one per segment). But, since the AS need to make identical cores for the chest, helmet and leggings, you will loose 2 enhancers of each type when making the schematic.


I.e. youin fact need 3x13 Segment Enhancers (Krayt scales, NS layers etc.)


You only need 7 Peko Peko Feathers, one for each armor piece (except gloves and boots). These can be singles.


The AS can use single Segment Enhancers to a certain extent, but the easiest way is to find 3 stacks of 13 Segment Enhancers. Get your AS to make your Appearance Enhancer (based on Peko feathers). That way you know how good segment enhancers you need. E.g. if the Appearance Enhancer comes out with +13, you only need +37 in the core. You can achieve that by a number of combinations (+15, +15, +7 or +10, +15, +12...no advanced math here ). Or you could just get 3x13 (+15) Krayt scales and you dont have to worry about the quality of the Peko feathers.


But as Hormel said, sockets are random. You either need to be very lucky or bring some extra enhancers...

i have made a couple of sets of 350 health buff armor now post cu.


here is a few things i noticed, and how i make the componets.

this info might be helpful might not.


first i ( i thought the enhancers would round off to say a 5,10,15,20 well they don't.

a +4 is a +4.

so when collecting my componets, and making things easy,

i trash any that is less than +5. to use 3's & 4"s you would need some 15 & 20's which are harder to get.


all +5 - + 9 = +5's

all +10 thru +14 = +10's i do this to keep things easy and make it so i can use easily obtainable enhancers.


standard rule. you have to put +30or greater worth of enhancers in in your core, as since CU allFeathered enhancments

i have build always end up at +20


so now i will run segments with stacks ofenhancers of at least 9 per stack, ( 9 per stack,3 stacks will net out 7 identical cores)

if the stacks are greater, then i use those to manually craft cores for the arm pcs.



so now i use combonations of +30 to get a + 30 core.

20 + 5+5 = 30

10+10+10 = 30

15+15+ (2 unenhanced segments) = 30

im sure you get the idea.

now you might see your core is actualy greater than +30 but don't worry about it. on final build use feathered enhancer and

Walla armor at +50 health.

this might seem a little wastful, but i found out the time saved over trying to hit exactly 30

was well worth grouping enhancers as described above.


i hope this is understandable and makes at least a little sense, as i am not a writer.

I wish I could get at least one feathered appearance enhancer up to +20. Everyone I've made has been in the +12 to +16 range, but they were all given to me so I don't know if they are pre or post cu (they have come from different stacks too).


I always make the enhancers first because they don't need to be combined into the cores, and then choose my other enhancers to make up the difference in the core (which I'm sure isn't a brilliant no stategy by anymeans )

i have used both pre and post cu feathers, with junk resources.


Ihave made a lot of them feathered enhancments, since they ALWAYS come out at +20 i just thought that was what they were, your the first one i have heard of that got anything other than a +20.

Well i stand corrected. i made some feathered enhancments today.


well they did coume out with less that desirable results.


i ran 3 different stacks. ended up with a stack of +22, stack +13, Stack of +16.


well guess ill have to re-think my method of making +50 health armor.


the set i made with the cores i hade only netted a +320 Health buffed BH suit. ( was aimimg for 350

I looted a stack of 6 Peko Peko Feathers that have +24 to health. So it is possible to loot higher than +20.

Just an FYI, I just now looted a stack of +7 Health Brackaset Plates. So the range goes up to at least +7 on those. I can post a pic if you need verification.
