I didn't see it posted here yet, but the devs said in the chat yesterday that there will be a Friday Feature on Wookie armor. The didn't say which Friday it was but i'm hoping it's going to be sometime soon; like... uh... today

Holy crap...what a bunch of whiners...the dev's will most likely keep everything balanced. You won't be seeing 80% kinetic resitant armor being worn by a wookie...it will be around 20 to 30% at most resists. It won't be to big of deal...

... and balance means giving wookiees a means of protection equal to what other races are capable of using. It's really as simple as that, I don't see why all the non-wookiee trolls are making such a big deal about this.

And for the last time: OUR 700 EXTRA HAM IS A JOKE. Thank you, drive through.

If we're given an armor, say, identical to composite... Fantastic! There's your balance.

Just keep in mind that harcore wookiee players have been playing this game on "Hard Mode" for months and months now, and have picked up a few skills along the way.

I think it just boils down to the fact that the devs will be releasing some new toys and some non-wookiees are pissed off because they won't be able to use it.

That sounds like a good assessment of the situation. But I'd say that us getting our own special armor is reasonable restitution for not being able to use most of the clothing, armor, skill attachments and quest rewards in the game.

Anyway, today's friday feature is supposed to showcase the wookiee armor. Hopefully we'll get some hard info about it's stats, but more than likely we'll just get a photo, I'm guessing. Either way I'm excited to see it.

I had a Force sensitive character, with 23 and a half boxes ground out.
I had a master creature handler.
I had a high lvl crafter character.
I had a Bounty Hunter that I hunted PC Jedi with.

My game is dead.

I agree. Anyone who actually does real combat in the game knows that a human in composite armor is way better off than a wookie with his 700 stat bonus. I have played several different races and am currently playing a human. I don't really see that big a difference in stats between humans and wookies, cause I am only gonna fight after I get buffed anyway. When it comes to how much a good set of buffs brings you up then it doesn't really matter what species you play, except that wookies get hurt a lot more without armor. I am very excited to see that wookies are getting some love. I might just be willing to go back to playing a wookie, of course that depends on how the armor looks...

Im still of the opinion that any and all wookiee armor should be reserved to match up with the wookiee armor that is confirmed to appear in episode III and in the Republic Commando video game. Assuming SWG has access to these materials, I have absolutely no problem with wookiee armor. However, if they dont match up ill have to file this under "dissapointing moves made by SWG", which is starting to outnumber the "good moves made by SWG" list.

While were on the already starting "Nerf their HAM" arguements, lets not forget that now Publish 7 took out the last decent starting bonus a Wookiee has by turning WarCry into a USELESS special. Wookiees have always been the Red-Headed StepChild of SWG, now they kill our warcry after making us wait for armor compensation indefininately, and since they "trimmed" what the CH bonus was originally when I chose a Wookiee, what is next---taking our fur??? They need to give Wookiees a NEW useful, practicaland Valuable STARTING BONUS!! The existing bonus action we get is HORRIBLE. TRAPPING?? Wookiees are supposed to be a powerful and dependable force in the Star Wars universe. Yet in SWG they are nothing but a novelty item----a large Teddy Bear existing for appearance only.

I think if it comes down to me having to delete my Wookiee and start all over again.....I might just have to start all over again in a NEW game. I just dont want to start this whole grind all over b/c Im not getting the full potential of my character. This really needs to be addressed, now that WarCry is worthless. And dont try to say that WarCry isnt totally useless---because it is a joke now. The only starting bonus even remotely valuable is the CH bonus, and even tho that has been reduced as well, the point is mute since CH is a shadow of what it used to be.

So based on all of the changes (which have all been NERFS in the very negative fashion---nothing helpful), and now WarCry is nothing, and CH has lost its appeal for so many of us, what would make a knowledgable newbie choose a wookiee nowadays? NOTHING. Theyre useless. And if it doesnt change I think Wookiees will truly be nothing more than a novelty item in this game---something to "play" with once youre bored.

Heck, whens the last time you even saw a female wookiee? I havent seen one in weeks, literally.

That's actually quite unbelievable. I have two characters right now - one is a wookie and one is a human. You can keep saying 'oh that mighty point increase from human', but coming from someone who plays both characters, that point increase means absolutely nothing in the long run. The only thing these points help for is to keep us from dying when we are brand new in the game...but for PvP, I drop in 2-3 shots, compared to my human in 80% composite who doesn't drop until after being hit about 20 shots at least.

And you're saying "let the wookie win..."? Try playing a wookie, then maybe you'll understand the 'life of a wookie' in the deal with armor.

Do you have some inside tract that we are all missing out on?? Just because the Devs let wookiee wear crappy Marauder Armor on TestCenter, doesn't mean the armor they are creating is going to have the same stats. They were testing the ways Armor would work on a Wookiee, nothing more.

I would hopefully like to see the range between 60-70% max. The caps on our secondaries pretty much negates the HAM bonus all together. Plus I doubt we will be getting full body armor, so we will still have vulnerabilities. They should take that into consideration as well..

I agree that wookies need SOMETHING to make up for armor. But I don't think it's very fair that if they would get a good 70% Wookie Armor set. Why? Well because wookies can have their stats insanely high. There would be no balance in it.

Idea : Make the armor have VERY high HAM costs.

Yeah, higher encumbrance is only fair. But if the armour is anything below 70% I'm quitting. Wookiee's have been discriminated against more than any race in the game. I remember last time the Devs attempted to do something for us....What was it? Orbs and an ugly robe? Yeah, slap in the face. That's actually what I'm expecting this time too. Ugly armor, poor resists, high encumbrance and they remove our extra stats.
