The devs working on combat upgrade can either hit the forums and respond all day to your questions or work on CU. I am sure we are all in agreement with having them bang away at issues and bugs with CU rather then post all day.
Tiggs, please don't insult us. We aren't by any means saying that they should be posting all day. Would it hurt to post once, maybe TWICE a day, to calm us down, let us know what you're thinking? Just a "Hi, hello, still thinking about what to do, will promise to get back to you as soon as we can." That took 40 seconds. There is no excuse for your lack of communication.

Correspondents have rules just as you do on our forums and these need to be upheld. When a correspondent goes against the rules they will be removed just as any of you would be. A correspondent's position is to bring to the Dev team the issues their profession is currently having or foresee. It isnot to rally up the troops and spam in private message tells tothe devs, just to be heard. The correspondents have direct access to our email addresses and to the correspondent forum. Unfortunately there are times when TH and I get very busy and we need to concentrate on the other duties we have. During these timesthe correspondents may nothear anything from us. We do however let them know we are still reading their posts or emails even if we aren't replying and their concerns are being brought to the table.
All of this is outlined in the correspondent forum, the application for being a correspondent and the welcome letter they receive.
Please keep it constructive, any posts that are not constructive will be removed.
2 Years of being ignored and abused and you ask us to trust you? While I do not doubt what you say Tiggs I do doubt the business engine that runs behind what you do. Its very clear from the exit polls and the posts on the forums that the player base is not happy with the CU, but yet we have the Head guys saying all is well and everything is ok.
If you want us to listen to you then you need to listen to us its a two way street, something that seems to have been long forgotten by your upper management. You however do tend to listen more so than most which is appreciated but and I cant stress this enough when the community posts and makes it feeling very clear on a matter to have your upper management dismiss this as a minority is just ignorant.
I love SWG but I can no longer be a part of it for me Star Wars Galaxies has been destroyed by poor programming, bad choices and lack of vision, after over a year in the making the CU is nothing more the EQ2 in a SWG wrapper, not what I wanted or paid my $250 for the boxes or $75 per month for my accounts.
You took the world out of my mouth...The pools= poor

One more thing Tiggs, i hope you and the devs understand that the "majority" of the players DO NOT feel the way most of these players feel. If you notice most of the players that started making a big fuzz in general (reguardless of profession) are the ones that under the current "live" combat system have some sort of an "edge" over the rest of the players, in the AS'ers case its those that have 12pt cloths + extremely hard to get resources + insane HIGH quality resources so they have been spoiled by taking over their market as no NEW players or AS'er can compete and since they have the founds on top of that they can sell at just about any price to close out any local competition. With that said, i do acknowledge where you guys are headed and DO see the big picture in terms of roles and balances, so once again PLEASE keep up the great work and thank you for all your efforts as i truely understand how hard it is to create something for masses and have that fine line of "knowing" you will not satisfy "ever" everyone 100%.
Thanks!

How long does it take for a dev to write a single message to let us know what is going on? 5 minutes? 10 minutes? Are you telling me the devs would rather just ignore the growing dissention and lack of faith that is quickly spreading through the playerbase?

Actually, no. From the looks of things, their "banging away at issues and bugs" with the CURB as it stands right now is only causing more and more issues and bugs and driving away more and more consumers. I know several folks who were part of the abortive "Alpha," and if half their stories are true, y'all squandered a truly unique opportunity. How shameful.
If you were releasing a brand new game, never before seen on the market, I might buy that line. But given that SWG is nearly two years into live operation, and there are thousands of folks with millions of dollars invested into this game, soliciting significant feedback, replying to the feedback, and acting upon it, having a significant amount of dialogue when you are radically restructuring the game isn't that much to ask.
It is simply mind-boggling that despite years of criticism and acknowledged failings on your parts, the development team continues to make the exact same mistakes.
Still ignoring the customers at their peril, then acting all surprised when it turns out the unpopular voice they tried to tune out WASN'T really a minority after all.
History isn't one thing after another .... it's the same darned thing over & over.

No, the game designers need to be working on the issues, but doesn't SWG staff have someone who's job is to let us know what's going on? Isn't there SOMEONE who is supposed to act as liason between players and the design team to let each know and better understand where the game is going.
In fact isn't that YOUR job?

You say that it takes time away from the programming time to talk with the playerbase about these issues? I suppose in hindsight you guys should have done what you said you were going to do and had the CURB when it was first talked about in what...2003? There would have been lots of communication time in the perriod from then to now. This CU is coming at the last possible second, and as a result a large number of bugs are going to slip through. Bad design is going to slip through. A bad combat system is going to slip though.
I realise that given the limited about of time you have given yourself for the CU, that a horrid dumbing down of the crafting system makes sence to you. It does not however, make sence to a large segment of the playerbase. I like that crafting is complex. I admire those folks who are at the top of their crafting game. That's a level of dedication that I wish I posessed. When SWG launched I signed up because it was diffrent. I had a crafting system unlike anything I had heard of, it had entire classes totally devoted to social activities, and it had combat that at least on the surface looked fun. SWG is going from a game that had the potential to seta new standard in MMO development, now it's becoming one that....well quite frankly is playing a HUGE game of catch up.
So who then is telling them of the current issues? I guess they have no idea. That makes sense seing as most of the feedback is being totally ignored....Who's job is it to give us info...if they cant?
For a dev to say "The positive feedback is growing daily" (from last night) just shows they are totally uninformed.
