Thread: General opinion of armorsmiths regarding the crafting of Wookie armor
Creation ofWookie Armor (as seen in the artist's graphic)takes great skill, the kind only available through millenia of selective adaptation within the Wookie culture. No mere Human or Zabrak could strap on a trashcan, dump a salad bowl on top of their head, then stick a feather in it.
However, just like bowcasters, wookie armor technology should be something only understood by wookies.
I for one feel that all AS's shoule be able to craft wookie armor.
It should not be hard for a Master AS to revers engineer a suite of armor and figure out how to make it.
It would also make it hard to fine and quite pricie if only wookies could craft it.

i don't know a single wookie armorsmith on intrepid.
I think RayToTheZ was a Wookie master armorsmith, but he's since deleted that toon and created a Bothan. So, yes I think we have zero (0) Wookie Master Armorsmiths.

As for my opinion, needs to be craftable by everyone.

I assume, since the devs have told us that this is only the first armor, and to be patient for better armor, that it will have stats similar to Chitin/Tantel...
Huzzah! Chitin-like stats it is!
Wookies should be the only ones who can craft the armor. It makes much more sence. (and I am not a wookie)
Let the wookie win.. again ![]()
I play a wookiee. I also play a human.
I have a macro that I designed for when my wookiee goes into combat. It looks like this:
/tell (current doc in group) I'm dead again. Could I get a rez?
I'm serious. Wookiees spend WAY too much time on their back in PvP, PvE, the GCW... you name it. If you limit wookiee armor to just wookiee armorsmiths, I will be forced to re-roll my character. I cannot afford to pay 10mil for a set of armor. And I definately don't want to wait 4 months to get it!
If any armorsmith can make it, I won't have to pay through the nose for something that STILL doesnt balance me out with the other species. And I won't have to wait months to get it.

To the RP community: You may enjoy RP. Heck, I enjoy some RP every now and then. But i do NOT pay good money to cater to your needs. I pay to have fun. If my idea of fun infringes on your ability to RP to the fullest extent that you would like, too dang bad. You want to RP? Fine! Go find a wookie MAS and buy your armor from him! But don't try and force your style of play on me. I don't force mine on you.

Its about time wookiees got even a SMALL push towards balance. Don't screw it up by demanding that it be even more limiting than it already is.
Yes, it will create high demand on them initially, but as demand rises and price does too, more wookiees will be attracted to this fun profession, where they otherwise wouldn't have been. Supply will rise accordingly, and prices will stabilise.
I'm not in favour of the crafting bonus idea.
I also think people underestimate the number of Wookiee Armorsmiths out there. Or perhaps Tempest is just unusual in this regard.
Given the materials selection, and the blurb that says "Wookiees have good technology, but tradition dictates they use natural materials" (paraphrasing from the website), I'd go so far as to say that any non-wookiee race would reject crafting this armor on the grounds that they have superior technology with which to make armor.

Please make them craftable by anyone!!
Yes Xlot, prices will stabilise, more wookies will go to raise armorsmith, but... when??? if we need 5-6 more wookie armosmiths to let the prices go down we can take a lot of time...
I just dont want to wait more time, I hate trying to kill ahigh lvl mob and combat log saying:
You use XXXXX shot on Mob for 500 damage
Mob hits you for 1000 damage
You have been incapacitated
You were slain by Mob
