I would like to see all armorsmiths with the ability to craft wookie armor. I am looking forward to a new suit I can craft without having to hunt incredibly rarecreatures or spawns.

I think all Armorsmiths should be able to craft it, but Wookies should get a bonus

yeah, wookiees should get a bonus when crafting wookiee armor. Something like 1 extra experiment point.

And they should also get a penalty when crafting non wookiee armor, say 1 less experiment point.

/sarcasm

No and no. No crafting bonuses, no race specific build restrictions.

The game needs content for everyone. Making it "wookie craftable" only is bad idea. That will make this "new" armor content as uselessand almost as rare as RIS. I'm keeping fingers crossed it comes out bug free (no stat shifting or anything else plz)

I didnt bother to read the whole thread, just scanned a few posts....

1) I always thought it was a bad idea that the bowcaster was a wookiee only craftable item.. Hey I'm a Mon Cal... My people are capable of building starships.. It would only stand to reason that i could get ahold of a Bowcaster and take it apart and figure out how to replicate it pretty easily. It is science after all, unless some wookiee just took a crossbow one day and slammed it into a pile of radioactive material that infused it with the ability to shoot blaster bolts instead of arrows, I think i'd be able to figure out what makes it work.

2) With #1 being said, I use metal and hides and chemicals to expertly craft armor.. It's unreasonable to think that i couldnt pick up the same twigs and leaves and cornstalks that a wookiee can and make the same armor out of it.

3) I'm tired of crafting the same composite over and over again, or ubese for that matter... I want something new... RIS was a joke (I mean really, rare loot components in armor that would decay in less then a week if the person actually tries to hunt with it on a regular basis (ok im a melee type i tear up armor).

4) I cant seem to think of even 1 wookiee armorsmith on bria, i could be wrong but off hand i cant think of one. so then it becomes an availability and price issue first one to grind to master armorsmith as a wookiee gets to rape the wookiee population on price...

This is a hard one, while wookie only made armor would make it rare and mostly not as good as due to limited number of crafters, I have to say the wookie only made bowcaster is very cool in that it can only be made by wookies. I have to go to this great wookie weaponsmith to buy them. He is about the only one that does make them, probably because they are just not that great.

My feeling is the RP value of wookies making wookie armor far far out weighs everyone making wookie armor. It would be a boost to the wookie community that you can only understand if you are a wookie.

I understand the thinking behind making bowcasters wookie makeable only, but I disagree with it. Any engineer should be able to look at it, and replicate it, even make it better possibly. That's what companies do today in business. So my same thought for wookie armor. While the wooks should get a bonus to it's crafting, to make it wook only is ridiculous. Your telling me a MAS can't strap some vines to a few pieces of metal, but can make comp/ris/and soon to be mando? Logic dictates open source on this one. Let the crafters craft! That's what we're here for.

I'm looking forward to making wookiee armor. Time to spice things up again. Ris looks nice, but not worth the kimo scales nor does it protect. I'd like to be able to make sets for free to give to my wookiee guildmates. Also, I know of only 1 Wookiee armorsmith on Kettemoor who's in it for the long haul (not a hologrinder).

Looking at all the previous posts, it seems that there is an overwhelming consensus towards making it non-race specific. Lets see what the devs do. If they choose to make it race-specific, it will provide a lot of insight as to how they think and who they want to please. Hopefully our voice will count.

I'd like to see all AS be able to make it. For the reasons many have already articulated above.

I don't know about giving Wookie AS extra options with crafting the armor though. If that's the case then customers will probably just seek out the Wookie ASs, just because of the tendency to always want to buy what's "best" available.

I think that just having an exclusive capability to wear the armor is enough for the Wookie population, and don't see any reason why their ASs would be keeping any crafting secrets from the rest of the profession.

Until now, wookies could not wear armor. As a result, the only wookie armorsmiths i have seen were holo grinders. If they make this armor wookie only craftable, there will be one or 2 wookie smiths on the server, and the prices will be insane. I think it should be craftable by everyone, as we have not seen any new craftable armor since launch (RIS doesnt count in my opinion).

Break the 80% Cap? Can you expand on your position on what makes Wookiee's that much more special than every other race? Keep in mind, Wookiee's represent approx 10% of any given server's population.

Why on earth would we want the devs to come around and nerf Wookies 3 months from now? They will have 80%+ protection AND higher HAM. Makes absolutely no sense to me. Do you really want to hear the Wookiee outcry from an upcoming nerf because of Wookiee's being overpowered? Next thing you'll suggest is AR1, 80%+, AND the higher HAM, huh?

Right idea, but not well thought out. I'm sorry if this is coming across as a flame. Shooting ideas out there is great, but please think before you post an insane idea such as this.

Who ever said my idea was going to go live hopnasty? Just an idea..a bonus would be nice and after wookees being left out in the cold for armorfor so long it would be neet to have it.

Even if I prefer it to be "wookiee's only" I'm sure they are going to make it craftable by every Armorsmithas the negative aspect of "wookiee's only" (price gouging, economy, customer wait timesand such) out weighs the long timewookiees hadof getting owned in PvP.

And yes, I should have expanded on my "breaking the 80% cap" idea. I'm sure it require several resourses to make a segment, then a pice of armor. Challenge1 comes will finding ALL resourses with 900+ (how often does that happen even now? and if they add specific resourses needed [advanced wookiee armor?] then that chance dives down lower) then perhaps the cap can move to %85on whatever the special protection is. And its special protection (with the exception of mabari, there is only one damage type under this protection, unless you layer it)..not breaking the cap on effectiveness.

If you add layers (which I hope will be possible) of the same damage type, breaking the cap would be possible, if you add other damage layer types then no, a wookiee smith could not break the cap.

Never said anything about us being special. Its only an idea....it will probably never see live, but you can't blame a guy for trying. Jatto asked, I replied, and seeing as I'm the minority for the "wookiee only" thing I'm pretty sure its not going to happen....unless they add race specific armor for everyone else too.

Relax kid, its just a game.
