Im actually curious here....from what i have heard armor crafting has been taken down to a SINGLE line of expiermentaion. So is it going to make a difference if you are a 12pt smith now vs a 10 point? Or are resources going to be the lone factor?

It's 2 lines, not one... also IF condition is important post CURB (It may be) Then there will be a difference

Naboo Bristley? What are they thinking? They stick over half the professions in this group and give us some stupid resource type that barely anyone has ever harvested?

Well if they wanted to control how much advanced armor was out there, that was a good way to do it....

This was my 1st thought. I was initially under the impression that almost nothing dropped naboo bristley. But it turns out there are several creatures in the 20 - 30 CL range that drop this.

Obviously, creature levels post-CURB are entirely subject to change, and harvesting levels and capabilities may also change before this hits live. That being said, I did a quick search over at SWGCreatures.com (great site) in order to compare the relative creature levels of critters that drop Dantooine Wooly, Nabooian Bristley, and Lokian Leathery.

Dantooine Wooly Hide

Dropped by: Huurtons and Thunes.

Most Huurtons are between CL 25 and CL 33. Missions for Huurton Stalkers (CL 33) are readily available with a small group. Thunes range in CL from 26-48, but missions for them are more difficult to find, and several thunes magically do not drop hide.

Nabooian Bristley Hide

Dropped by: Ikopis, Plains Hunters, Narglatches, Shaupauts, Tusk Cats, and Veermoks.

The critters with the highest CL for Nabooian Bristley, Plains Hunters (31) and Ikopi Stags (30) are random mobs without lairs. Narglatches range in level from 8 to 22. Shaupauts have a max CL of 22. Tusk cats are in the 16-18 CL range, and veermoks range from 9 to 22. We can safely say that getting a massive quantity of Nabooian Bristley Hide will be harder (and likely much more boring) than getting the same quantity of Dantooine Wooly Hide.

Lokian Leathery Hide

Dropped by: Just about everything on Lok -- Gurks, Gurnasets, Kimogilas, Mynocks, Perleks,Snorbals,Spined Snakes, andVesps.

Lok is a veritable sea of leathery hide. Missions for gurks and snorbals, around CL 30, are readily available. Kimogilas range in CL from 22-153. We can safely say that getting a massive quantity of Lokian Leathery Hide will be significantly easier (and potentially more lucrative) than getting the same quantity of Nabooian Bristley HIde, and slightly easier than Dantooine Wooly Hide.

So, in order of ease of acquisition, we have Lokian Leather > Dantooine Wooly > Nabooian Bristley.

If one was interested in changing Nabooian Bristley to something of approximately equal difficulty to that of Lokian Leather and Dantooine Wooly, I would suggest Tatooinian Bristley Hide (dragonets are CL 29, and Krayt Dragons drop bristley hide), or Yavin IV Scaley Hide (crystal snakes and klikniks are of appropriate level).

Nice post, but what a joke the Dev's are pulling. All the hard work of gathering resources and they throw wrench into the gears.

Another time stealer, having to harvest all new resources. This is suppose to be a CU not a AS upgrade.

This AS account will soon be no more, I will make enough sets for myself and ADK so I will not ever have to worry about buying armor again.

This is a sad day. I cannot accept these changes to the AS profession.

My gawd! So many new resources. Holy *rap!

Well, good work collecting the info.

Devs, why are you making these changes in resources and added even more resource types! It have taken me 6 months to gather the stuff I got. Now I gotta collect another six months! I'd like you to pay for my time. I will not accept the changes.

Named resources in Layers! Nuts! It's hard as it's now and one then have to collect named resources for something that one has to mass produce in great quantities. And also another factory run is needed.

There isn't enough time in the world for me to accept the changes.

With me having a work, there is just not enough time to be a full time smith anymore since I have to start from scratch. I'm furious (and I mean it)! SWG is my practicly the only thing I have time for on my spare timeand you devs are making it a living hell. Thank a bunch

Awesome job in grinding, collecting, and processing all the schematic info!

Just one quick question though:

DoOQ and SR of the resources required to make the final appearance for the armor matter for its overal protection, or does that come from just the cores? For example, does the quality of the leather used to make an Ubesejacket in the last stage of construction effect its quality, or does it come only through the quality of the cores used in the Ubese jacket?

Just the cores, the skin is just about condition. (as of this moment anyway)

Damn, I wish they would change that Dant wool to Endorian wool since I'm already sitting on 300k+ of 1900 OQ+SR of it

The real question then, is what the range and effecton the condition experimentation is ... if we can increase the base condition by only 10-15%, then we may as well just use 5cpu junk organics. If we can increase condition twofold, then good resources will definitely be demanded.
