Thread: Just wondering How many of your Veteran Master AS will quit if they nerf your comp to garbage?

I will join the original poster in leaving the profession if/when they nerf composite. And I dont care how many of you call me a whiny pissant, theres simple reasons for quitting and I will list them.

1) I worked too hard to be able to make decent armor. The best product I can make, is what I make. I take pride in it. For them to nerf it into oblivion amounts to forcible entry of my backdoor...

2) They give us 280k ham stormtroopers. 400k+ ham super battle droids. Kimogilas that are 100% resistant to fire and acid... and now they wanna nerf our armor so we have even less chance against these monstrosities. Its just wrong.

3) Variety is good. the more this company "balances" things the more like DAoC it becomes and the less interesting anything is. Newbie armorsmiths do not deserve to make as much money as the masters who have paid there dues. I started armorsmith and was hardly selling anything, and over time got better at making armor, developed a customer base, and now do a fair business. But I earned that business.

4) Im basically sick of nerfs. SOE cannot think of anything better to do than to nerf everything BECAUSE of the "whiny pissants". "Why doesnt my pistol do as much damage as that guys rifle?" So instead of boosting the pistol, their gonna nerf the rifle. Once again variety is essential to a competitive environment.

5) If they wanna nerf something lets start with doctor buffs. this is what TRULY makes the game insane. limit master doc buffs to 250/500/750/1000 on the enhancements and leave my armor alone. This would be plenty balance.

6) Its my choice to play the class I want to play. If they make my armor useless, I will not want to make it anymore. Why make a product inferior to what you were making yesterday? ill simply let someone else do it. I won't. I already spend too much time making stuff for others while their out running around in armor i made killing stuff and making 38k every 5 minutes doing missions on Dantooine.Their having fun, while Im working... these are the same folks that think my armor is too expensive BTW.

Before all the flaming starts I leave all of you with one final thought. SOE is responsible for the game as it is now. THEY did it.THEY made it.ALL of these things that everyone points to and says "OMG look at that! Its SO WRONG!' SOE did. its SOE's fault. THEY screwed it all up... WHAT ON EARTH MAKES ANYONE THINK THEY CAN FIX IT? THEY WILL JUST SCREW IT UP WORSE THAN IT ALREADY IS BECAUSE ULTIMATELY THEY DON'T LISTEN TO FEEDBACK. tHEY JUST KEEP SWINGING THAT NERF BAT!

To heck with it. once they nerf my composite, my guns, my polearms, I can finally start saving 30 dollars a month and work in the garden. This post isnt about the armor nerf, its about SOE nerfing the GAME into oblivion, not just armor. They need to raise up the other things and quit lowering everything. GIVE chubas 1000 ham instead of 200... I dont care. Just quit changing the RULES every month or so because of lack of foresight.

FLAME AWAY!!! I wont be reading it anyway, I dont care what a WHINY PISSANT has to say anyway.

The devs have stated that not only will armor be getting hit, but weapons and professions will be too. I imagine they are hoping that the advanced planets will become group only planets, and that individuals will no longer be able to tackle a janta mission by themselves. So instead of running missions in solo groups and banking 500k per day, you'll be grouping and splitting your mission payouts.

I would guess that they are looking to knock all combat professions back to the point they can only hope to solo about half of the mobs in the game, and leaving the other half to be group only content.

They better put in an autosplit option for the loot then. I dont want to have to argue over who gets the CDEF pistol.

90% armor is too much, it killes the game.

If someone is leaving the game cause he can't make 90% composite anymore then just leave and stop whinning BOY.

Like we ever care if you are leaving, staying or what ever you want to do.

One thing i realy want to say THANK YOU UBER ARMORSMITHS YOU REALY KILLED THE PVP ASPECT OF THE GAME.

and now that you are whinning : HAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

The uber armorsmiths didnt kill the game or PVP, SOE did. SOE is responsible for every aspect of programming this game, not the armorsmiths. BUT just an FYI If I could program this game all armor in it would have 100% resist to everything!!! Except of course yours.

1.)If they do put a 50% max on composite, they should also reduce the encumbrance by 1/2.

2.)Leave the %'s untouched for Padded, lower the enc by 1/2 on it.

3.)I think what SOE should do though is lower the % Cap on Composite to 70%, 80% with a slice.

If it comes to the point where I don't have fun making armor anymore, then thats when I will drop it and auction off my supplies (I could easily get 100 million+ for my stuff).

Unlike weapons, you do NOT need armor to play the game, especially if you get buffed. If the devs nerf armor into uselessness, they'll pretty much kill the armorsmith profession.

I would absolutely LOVE to stock my vendors with Tantel armor (I believe its an awesome all around lightweight armor), but finding large quantities of avian bone is impossible. I won't pay more than 10cpu either because then I end up losing money if I try to sell it.

For those who think Armor is the cause of all problems, do this experiment:

1.) Get Buffed, wear no armor, and go hunting, see how you do.

2.) Get no Buffs, wear your best composite (make sure your buffs have all worn off), then go hunting.

What scenario did you do better in? I'll bet #1.

I tried hunting buffed with no armor. It was my wookiee character I deleted because he died all the time because he had no armor on...

Even though I'm not an armorsmith, I'd like to give some input on this issue.

Fact is, armor as it is now is too good. The devs have been forced to introduce 350k ham humanoids to keep the PvE part of the game challenging, which is, let's face it, silly. PvP is all about poison and stun damage, leaving all classes expept riflmen, CMs, and fencers next to useless in PvP.

The way I see it, there are two ways of solving the problem. Either (a) reduce effectiveness of armor, or (b) get rid of (or at least balance) the secondary buffs that allows anyone to wear armor without penalties.

Myself, I believe (b) would be the best solution, but it would likely reduce sales for armorsmiths a lot, since few people would be able to wear armor, and even fewer would be interested in using it. Option (a) is likely the bestalternative for armor sales, in my opinion.

I know it's not very fun to have your craft "nerfed" to this degree, but something has to be done about this. And at least people will still buy your armor.

The Kitten's Diary, Day 781: I have discovered a most delightful way of making life miserable for my captors. Yesterday, I ate the woman's precious begonia, and today I have dismembered the amaryllis in the bedroom window. She is furious over the loss of her darling house plants! I find it highly gratifying.

It won't affect me at all. The only thing that will get me to drop Armosmith is becoming a Jedi. Even then, Joryn's "brother" is ready to step in and take over the family business.

I wont quit making armor. Will I rethink my strategy a little yes. I may craft 50 suits and hide them in people houses so I can have some to sell as OMG armor after the nerf. Will they just effect schematics....I hope...If I log on one day and the comp I am wearing is crap. I will be annoyed. But as someone previously stated you must adapt, overcome and in my words capitalize on new opportunities. I could not make adv key armor because of the unrealistic expectation of having to go back and forth between endor and Yav to get the components but wookies still need armor so I do it and I dont slaughter them on the cost fort the armor since it is close in comparison to the stats on Ubese anyway.

Besides as a TKM with a buff I really never take that much damage anyway and I destroy whatever gets in front of me to include the random blacksun guys I find on Yav on occasion. Armor is great and I am glad I never run out of it. But there are a lot of other factors in combat in this game that allow for individuals to solo missions I really dont see a need for an armor nerf but if they do it so be it. Would anyone else rather just see a new uber armor introduced into the game (aside from BH armor/Mando) just to see something besides the army of comp users at the starport?

My two cents.

IMHO,I think that the revamp will attempt to fix the problems in all classes. That means fixing the broken things we all complain about and have raised the "fix this or else flags on." Unfortunately that means also fixing this that are broken in a good way. It is kind of funny to me how not a single person here who has defended the awesome stats of current composite has mentioned that the only reason it is SO awesome is to to a bug in he game making base and special resists experimentable at the same time. (thus being broken in a good way). So are they nerfing composite, no they are fixing a game bug, just like they would for any other part that is bugged.

As for the issue of armor resist caps and the ablity to make other armor, ok. So we will have to revamp the way we build layers and segs. We will make the armor as best as each of us can, and then sell it as we do now. Cap or no cap people will be buying comp after the patch, and luckily enough for us we will also be able to sell effective armor to newer players or people who have been forced to play in over burdened composite, or none at all (poor walking carpets /wookieLuv)

Ok as for the actual patch/revamp, im as nervous as the next guy/girl as we ALL know there have been problems in the past with revamps/conversions etc. Honestly its not going to matter in the long run because its going to happen regardless, because it is needed. Things are out of control,I remember the first timeI went to endor and had my *** handed to me in a group of 10. That planet scared me. The first timeI was on Lok Placing harvs and came across a Kimo in the wild laying on the side of a hill,I thought its nose was part of the terrain (lol) and when it moved I knowI typed /burst and did a 180. Why? cause these things killed you. Now nothing kills you except 450k battledroids ... maybe. Thats sic.

I for one would like to go back to the way it was, when I knew I was in need of help, and having to decide if placing that harv by the veermok lair is smart or not.

If the answer is that we need to have high level mobs like SBD's to challenge us, start dropppin them in Theed or whatever as part of the GCW or something. Not just in special lairs like the DWB. Anyone remeber when droidikas were not to be messed with? How bout strippin down to your boxers and sitting in a circle in the middle of Theed to chat about that last round of PvP because your stats were migrated so you could just wear your comp. suit? As much as it sucked to have to recoop stats like that it was fun, and hey I think even rangers were useful then for things other than finding krayts.

Bottom line. Bring the revamp on.Wehave probably already played and had fun in worse conditions. We will adjust. I will still be selling armor right up to the day I decide not to.
