Its not that we have 85% block, its that the other 15% goes stright though. If you have a psg with 65% resists, only 35% damage willEVER go through.
Look at it this way, you shoot at me for 1k. That means 15% of the time you will hit for 1k.I hit you for 1k only 450 ever gets through. That doesn't count the DOTs, poisons and the fact that your weapons are over 1k damage while ours aren't and we have no dots.

I will agree with you, when I loot a DB Saber with 3K Damage, 400 Mindpoison (98% Pot), including Melee Def +24
But before that, forget it, you got too high toughness anyway with melees.

Okay,I did a little reading and I have a couple of questions.
The sticky that talks about special protectiosn and effectiveness suggests that special protections can offer less protection than effectivness at times. An example of this is that on my server we have IMP PSGs that are usually 25% energy special protection with a 46-47% base. Figure a great slice can bump the effectivness to 55-60%. This gives you a great base, but leaves energy behind.
Is there a way to get that type of effectiveness on a PSG but have something else as the special protection? Say make cold the special protection and include energy as the 45% effectiveness? Or can a piece of armor have no special protections and all protections on effectiveness?
I am basically looking for the very best possible PSG to stick an anti-decay kit on. Any information or suggestions would be awesome. Thanks!

Sorry to hijack your thread but I have a question on PSGs.
I currently have a crate of normal resists & I recently read you can buy PSG with LS resists.
Is this quite common as I dont recall seeing these on any vendors ?

Yes you can. The LS resists just shift after they're put on vendors or un-crated. So you need to not pull it off a crate until right before a fight.

Great information, thanks. The last thing I was wondering is can I get any looted items to help up the base? I have heard the highest it hits is about 49% pre-slice, but can i try to get some krayt scales or anything to up that?

No. There's no slot in any of the PSG schematics for enhancers.

I'm a beginner who isgoing down a slightly different path on my road to mastering armorsmith in that the first line of development for me is the manufacture of Personal Shield Generators.
Now i'm not sure on the feasibility of the plan so far, but I find it's actually kind of fun (if a complicated process) in manufacturing PSGs and have completed my first small factory run of 90 units of MK.I shields (about 263 energy protection, which I guess is not terribly bad for a basic shield unit.)
So then, my question is for feedback on the idea. Will PSG generators sell? And what should be a fair price to set for them?Obviously as I progress in skill i'll be able to make more powerful generator units, and as a sideline i've stocked my vendor unit on Kauri (tatooine 2704 -5707) with crates of armor segments, voritor lizard scales, cores, and other supply items for other armorsmiths.

here is a thread I have on my server on Intrepid with a nice FAQ about PSG's.
I sell PSG's like crazy for 50k a pop (MKIII's)
2334 energy 67.8 regen (can very easily clear 2400 but put more into regen, that is what keeps the shield going for prolonged fights)
I think i'm the only smith on my server who messes with them but I made 330 PSG's and stocked them all up, singles, crates of 2, and some 10's and 20's if a whole guild wanted to buy them (crate of 20 for a mill)
I am down to about 70ish PSG's left and working on another run of 300+
do the math 330 PSG's X 50k = 16.5 mill ![]()
And thats this month

One question: Does the quality of the subcomponents (artisan and armorsmith) matter at all?

Not a bit.
